You have to use a midi Keyboard to produce loud pitches and it changes and so the combo goes up along with the score quicker (Freeform Sections) But I think they have patched this now?

Actually he pauses it to play notes on a keyboard during the freeform then pauses it again to switch to singing. Playing the actual song down the mic does not work (well) so don't bother trying it.

GH2 and GH3 yes, you can. GHWT and Rock Band 1 just on the vocals and Rock Band 2 you cant play the vocals with the controller, even.

The Xbox Live mic works like crap on the game. Try a USB Mic. Not sure if anyone else has noticed this, but my voice is really low and on the game it won't pick my voice up on the Xbox Mic, but will on USB. So, it's bad to use it. The XBL mic also changes the pitch of your voice.

Hard/Expert vocals are crap in GH:WT. You need to be a robot to even pass hard/expert songs. It's like they want you to hum instead of actually singing. Medium is harder on GH:WT vocals than Expert on Rock Band 2 Expert vocals.
