I remember watching the epic first battle for the castle over and over with my brother years ago, replaying the tape with it's great music and epic medieval nature. So good :)
I remember watching the epic first battle for the castle over and over with my brother years ago, replaying the tape with it's great music and epic medieval nature. So good :)
this series reminds me of how great growing up in the 80s was. they dont make cartoons like this anymore. the best is gone. such a great theme. thank god for youtube haha.
loved this cartoon. my friend and i used to run home from school and watch this every week. one of the best theme songs ever,up there with mysterious cities of gold.
I remember on Children's BBC when they rang up the singer and asked him to sing live over the theme. Oh man I miss that Broom cupboard, ed the duck and gordon the gopher.
Wow I literally teared up listening to this. I watched Exo Squad on Hulu recently and remember this cartoon and its intro music from when I was a kid. So many people are right, cartoons like these had more depth and lessons in them than those of today. Wow I feel inspired, even if life has beaten me down here and there.
I loved this cartoon from the very first episode but I never did get to see the ending episodes. I have the soundtrack of this song, and for some reason on Thanksgiving Day this songs was stuck in my head so I had to look it up on Youtube
Hi, can you help me with the song lyric, I'm not english speaker, and I don't understand one phrase... it's when said: Sometimes... and anymore. Thank you very much.
Epopteya, the line you are thinking of says, "Sometimes I lie awake. I dream of everyone who walked the path I take who ran beneath the sun." Good luck with your English.
wow, this is good... ethereal, emotive, magical.... heh, guess thats not so odd with it being the theme for Prince Valiant, after all.
Wonderful. I thought the show was 'so boooooring' when I was a kid (was probably too small to understand the plots - havent seen the show since then), but I always heard the theme tune before I switched away to something else...
@KanaFish I totally agree with you, Id much rather look back on my childhood and remember good cartoons as opposed to getting an asbo, running around with a knife and seeing other girls my age pregnant, I remember all the good stuff on CITV, now adays on ITV they have Midsummer Murders, its hardly a surprise why kids now adays are so messed up!!
One of the greatest episodes was called Empty Justice. Arne was sworn to revenge the murder of his surrogate father Harold of Rhagged and almost ended up committing murder himself. You just don't get that kind of depth in the garbage released today. Morals and sincerity are thrown aside for bad jokes and lack of sentiment. Sure the animation in this was riddled with errors but at least there was polish in the design and art direction everything today looks like a bad flash web commercial.
You are right. Cartoons in the age when we were young 10 years ago and something more, where better than the cartoons that we watch today.. At least they contained some examples and morals that we need if we want to be right people. Today the only thing that counts is violence and good graphics.. I remember this episode, but I liked more the one with a lord who would use cannons to conquer Cammelot (I don't remember the title).
Ahh Yes You refer to Lord Malden. The episode is titled the dawn of darkness. Malden learns the secrets of Gunpowder from a Chinese man Chung. I don't think cartoons today have good graphics. I am an animator and have worked on features such as Despereaux. In my opinion quality has declined. (Avatar an exception) there is little to show any advancement in animation more so a regression in content and quality. Valiant had poor animation but splendid art direction staging and design.
This one is good but the swedish version is better

Wow, lots of memories just came flooding back! :D
Loved this as a kid, along with cartoons like Pingu, Postman Pat etc.
I used to find this scary and awesome in equal measures (the nightmares, evil rulers and people actually got killed in the battles!)
Ahhh, the days when cartoons had fresh stories and a meaning. The days before everything was disposable anime cack...

Decenium 3 years ago 2
It's always about money, it's just that the viewers want to see different shows.
Nowadays shows like "Robin Hood" are produced again, 'truth and justice' make room for collectivism ;o

Sure they need to make money doing this, but there was a certain amount of love put in.
That is gone in todays shows.
