Hi all, I'm surprised people have actually found & watched this video - We put it up simply so that our friends could check it out. Some answers to comments: All the props were leftovers from a music video my friend did, and soldiers looking exactly like that have never actually fought in war. It's not meant to be a realistic war movie, it's supposed to work on a more symbolic and allegorical level. Originally I did the film because I wanted to test how it would feel to film a story really fast (only 12 hours), with no money (just 250 dollars) with just an outline of a story, and 100% improvised camera work and fight coreography. It was actually a lot of fun to work that way (Continued...)
A bit more info on the theme: I wanted one of the actors to look middle-eastern (He's persian) and one to look like caucasian (He's finnish). Also in the end the peace declaration is both in english and in persian, although it's hard to notice that (bad editing, I should have made it more clear). So the underlying idea is that the war is between muslim and christian world. (Continued...)
On the other hand, I didn't want to push that idea too much to the front, because I didn't want to reflect current world events, I prefer to do something that works on a more general level.
I just watched the video for the first time in almost two years, and actually kinda liked it. It's clunky for sure, but I think the visual storytelling is fairly solid. It didn't suck, as I thought it would.

Cant see any ww2 kit on him, the shell is a 1980s dutch helmet liner. a trench coat from god knows when, a sporting rifle and a back pack. This could be set post 1940s maybe around the cold war. not bad going at all for $250 keep it up.
hes doing ok since hes stranded with little to eat he has a couple of chins and if its in the future why does he have equipment they would of turned down in world war 2, waste of $250
the details are modern but the combat is WWII style, but who cares?

besides, this would probably not happen in modern combat, the guy wouldnt be stranded in the first place, and the supplies would be dropped on the exact spot he was, the city wouldnt be destroyed, and he would have been killed at the first hot due to some hightech targeting thingey.
They're going to forget all their basic training about using their brain, gear, and enviorment to their advantage and just say to themselves "hmm, what would Goku do?".
It seems like you just tried to wow everyone with all flash and no story, which sadly would work in this world as seen through out this pieces comments, unless they have been filtered.
as far as you know you havent seen the future and what do you mean "dont use metal helm in the future ANYMORE" did they use the metal helmet in the future at a point and decide not to use it?
good movie sure there were a few bits that were rong but u learn from that errrm 1 real thing that got on my nerves was there was hardly any fighting wit guns butgreat story line mate keep it up
