  • This is a GREAT song!!! video without a doubt terrible!!!

  • i love how this song can empathises with how im feeling. <3

  • i like delirious, but sometimes i feel confused about them.

"she's pretty as hell..." what does it mean? humm, i don't know how to interpret this song.

  • @willxxi1 That expression of hell mate , its not literally ... When you use that expression it usually means thats theres nothing more beautiful than her if you are using it in the context of the song ... So , Noup , he is not calling the hell beautiful hehehe Have a Good day ... :)

  • @andyjedi18 i agree with u, but certainly other expression could have been used.

  • @willxxi1 @andijedi18 The song was written about a girl who'd just tried to commit suicide. That line means what it says, she looked like a wreck and her life was a complete mess.

  • @owenrcwmaber ok dude, now I can understand it. God bless you.

  • OMG i`m crying, now i know that i`ve to trust in Jesus,

  • I have nothing against Jesus.

  • the woman at the end reminds me of michael jackson

  • My Sister loved this song, she played it all the time during her battle with Cancer. She knew that His will - will be done!

It's Ok! I will see her in the morning. :)

  • u know...when u are depressed or head a bad mood...and u lisen this song...is like ...is like smth tell u inside of you it's ok and give u some piace....

    I love it...

  • Слушаю и слезы на глазах, это же молодость моя... молодежные тусовки в Духе Святом!

  • this song initiates my courage to go on and hope to move on...

  • @ichtus22aikon i agree in 1999-2002 i was going through a severe depression, this song actually helped me cope.

  • браво,супер пърче :)

  • such a beautiful song

  • easily the best delirious song theyv done

  • great song, great band, awesome God they praise!

  • This part: "The beauty has run from your face, such beauty that hung from your face..."

it reminds me that even the most beautiful girl will one day turn into an old woman. That beauty in itself isn't the most important attribute to look for in a girlfriend.

  • yes it is...

    kidding :p

  • errr... I think they're talking about how she was beautiful but bad experiences and sadness have taken away the light from her face. nothing to do with age or beauty itself. just how difficulties in life can effect how someone looks.

  • The most beautiful I've ever heard! I've loved it since the CD first came out!

  • Wonderful...!!!

  • does anyone know which album this song is from?

  • Mezzamorphis

  • I cannot get this out of my head....it's beautiful.

  • well, when you accept that you're depressed and feel so empty, that's quite a step.Specially, when you accept that you really need Jesus in your heart.

Jesus will never deny us and will not just stand by when one of us is felling bad.

that's what makes Him so perfect :)

  • @AngelSGLP Amen!

  • @AngelSGLP

    Amen! He is truly Perfect!

  • I think depressed people are the most honest...at least they don't pretend everything's alright when it isn't. It takes courage to admit you are sad, or scared. Dear Jesus...please help all who deal w/depression!!!!!!

  • It seems alot of people watching this don't understand why the song was written. Delirious wrote this song about a real girl who was suicidal. The "pretty as hell" line was just a way of saying she was in a mess, kind of like an idiom if you will. And as someone commented before, hell is not a cuss word in England. I think it shows no matter what you're going through, God's light will shine on you (the golden light at 3:11) and you will make it through another day.

  • I totally related to it like he was so attracted to her he was struggling. Just goes to show how we project ourselves onto other people!

Jesus loves me anyway...which is a freaking miracle!

  • here is a quote from the group on their UK site

"The line is a sad one and not an offensive one the irony people are missing is that hell is not a pretty place, and the girl who is 'pretty as hell' is really very empty and in need of love."

  • i agree actually!

i got a mate who is pretty depressed and suicidle and stuff and can totally relate to this plus it is all making me bit sad too! x good thinking - makes more sence than the stuff bout being attracted and stuff

  • "pretty as hell". Its a good thing they put that in there. Its not the same without it.

  • hehe "pretty as hell"

its not related to swearing, but probably that she really is pretty as hell. not shure, but i dont think its swearing...

  • "but probably that she really is pretty as hell."

Exactly - it's beauty emptied of all traces of heaven.

  • it's ok

  • This song sounds depressed- the woman looks so sad and miserable- it msut be awful if you wake up feeling life has no meaning-

I can't relate to this as I always find meaning in every day and my own spirit guides me to positive ways of living no matter how others are around me

  • Sorry, I meant to put "I hate that the Christians" not "I hate the Christians".

  • LOVE THIS SONG!!!!

  • que cancionsota en especial la guitarra..

  • Sounds kinda like Switchfoot IMO. I never knew they they made a video for this song. I hate the Christians had to make such a big deal about the line "pretty as hell". I'm a Christian, but I see nothing wrong with it as they are simply expressing themselves as artists.

  • how can you (as a Christian) hate Christians who make a deal of that line? Isnt that agains Jesus' Words?

I dont see anything wrong with it either, just didnt think they would use it. Im from Denmark and in Denmark "Hell" is swearing. Maybe why I was surprised..

  • If I were to put an tiny bit of anti-freeze in water you wouldn't be able to see it. There would still be plenty to make you sick. Would you drink it?

I'm not saying anyone is perfect.

  • What a beauthiful number!!

    I almost cry..(or something)

    Love Annalies

  • burak!!

  • beautiful song.:)

    CAMI*

  • hope that is helpful :)

  • "sometimes lyrics that capture a mood or moment in time can be great when carried by the emotion of music, but can look hard or even offensive when printed in black and white. We decided we could not make an album about heaven without mentioning hell. We hope many of you find solace in this song and, though you may feel like everything is against you, "I know you will live to fight another day" <--that's what Delirious wrote about the song in the Metamorphis album insert before the song

  • I'm not native English speaker, and I'm not quite shure what's this song about. I take it as some kind of comfort for some girl whose "as pretty as hell". Is he telling her the Good News? I really like this song, but i would like to make shure that i know what's going on.

  • Well, i see you are from Poland... I think that part of the lurics means that maybe you or I (anybody) have no reason to be qualified as "beautiful" because of our hearts, but God still sees us as BEAUTIFUL because He knows us (that we cant be good by ourselves). Maybe that´s not the right meaning, but thinking about it like I wrote use to relax me a lot. XD
  • I wrote my comment to MaGolias

  • Una de mis canciones favoritas de Delirious

  • beautiful song <3

  • espero verlos en monterrey NL en la arena monterrey

  • I love this song, my fave from Delirious? But question: Why can i not download this song????

  • Such a beautiful song.

In Europe, "Hell" isn't used as a swear word as it is in America.

    Different cultures, thats it.

  • It's not really a swear word in this context in the USA either.

  • "She as pretty as hell" - didn't thought Delirous? would sing that!?. But still.. lovely song.

  • i love how this is one of Delirious?'s only songs about love, and yet it's still done with a Godly spirit.

    love it!

  • All their song is about love? Or you mean like man/woman love relationship? :)

  • I should think that all of their songs pertain to love if God is included. But if you mean in relation to one person to another, I would think that "What a friend I've found" is also another love song. One could also interpret this song to mean that the woman is figurative of the church and that the world has choked the life out of it, but He will breath life into her again.

  • I love how it's blurry and shadowy and it draws you in as you try to see more but that's the beauty of it. Emotional, beautiful, and it's Delirious so how can you ask for more?

  • i agree with that. no fancy special effects or anything, no complicated plot like so many MVs have nowadays. its so simple yet beautiful... i really love this song

ps. does anyone know if this actress is the one in the August 30th visual thing?? cus she looks very similar
