whats wrong with cross handed blasting? open hand is cool but i mean there is absolutely nothing wrong with cross handed. you can achieve the same sounds that way.

true. it becomes very difficult to blast with the rhythm playing on cymbals on the left side though. i cross blast for hi hat, but have to open hand blast for left sided cymbals.

Very good.... I'll give a bit of advice since this is just a cover and it might help your playing in general. Towards the end of the song, you started to stiffen up and the sound softened. Loosen up and breathe consistently. I used to do the same thing myself and it took years to figure out why I was way more sore than I should be. I can tell you started to get starved for oxygen, which goes a long way in straining your muscles as well. Excellent job though, so keep it up.
