Hey do you guys have Tornadoes near Highlands Ranch? I was considering buying property there- I'm in Southern California LA County. I was trying to find the best possible place to raise my family. However, I don't want to be near any sort of Natural Disaster areas. Do you guys have Tornadoes? Earthquakes? Floods? And what about Crime? I know you're close to Denver- is there a bid Drug problem? like Meth? And how is it? do you like it? how do you like it out there?please write me back thnx
@shaneslifestory HIghlands Ranch has a lower probablility for tornados. As far as being near natural disaster areas, everywhere can end up being one. I;m not sure about crime rates or drug use rate for Highlands Ranch, but I do believe it to be better than Denver itself. I love Colorado. The only other area I really loved living at was Seattle. I've been to LA and San Diego. I like visiting, but that's about it. Try and come out on a vacation if you can. See Colorado for yourself. :)

I was on a feild trip that day and when we got back to berthoud 10 miles west there was a HUGE funnel cloud over my school and on the way back to school we saw the tornado on the road it was so freaky

It's amazing that with the devestation there was that only one person was killed and even more amazing is 130 children, not including staff were in attendence at the Windmill Daycare which suffered a direct strike from this tornado. Can't say that wasn't a miracle!

There are tornados all over the world, and most of the time it doesn't touch any houses. When a tornado can take something flimsy as a straw and impail it into a tree, nothing can stand up to it, not even steel.

I grew up in windsor. I am out of state going to school. when i got the call my heart dropped. I called my parents and couldn't get ahold of them. I'm leaving tomorrow to go home and help them out. I feel the pain!! I live in Laramie, Wyoming and my house suffered some damage from the tornado that hit here, the same day as the Windsor tornado.

There are tornados all over the world, and most of the time it doesn't touch any houses. When a tornado can take something flimsy as a straw and impail it into a tree, nothing can stand up to it, not even steel.

Thanks for a nice job! Living here-- I thought the newspaper(s) did a lousy job of showing photos and the first thing I did when the power came on (Sunday night) was to look for Youtube Videos and I appreciate yours.
I am blessed and fortunate that on my part of Walnut Street, there was no damage but my heart goes out to the townspeople who were not as lucky.

I was pretty lucky I was in Estes Park with my class we were eating lunch and someone said that there was a tornado and I didnt beleive her but then a chaparone husband called and said the tornado went right through their house then everyong started freaking out and crying and it was soooo scary I feel sooo bad for the ppls houses that were ruiend

so yeah i live in windsor, the tonrnado went right over my house, the only power i'm getting is from a gas generator...this just suck two of my friends house are completely gone! i barely made it to my basement before my house windows were shattered. Ugh i'm a lucky one!

I grew up in windsor. I am out of state going to school. when i got the call my heart dropped. I called my parents and couldn't get ahold of them. I'm leaving tomorrow to go home and help them out. This breaks my heart. I am still in shock that this happened. I'm so glad that everyone is ok. I'm praying for the families in windsor. Windsor is a great town with amazing people. if any place can pull threw this its windsor. Everytime i see look at the pictures i can't help but cry.

that tornado went right over us!! it went up and dropped back down a few hundred yards away. but our friends family lost their entire house... they dont have a place to live and are taking refuge with family and at the ranch. the whole thing is just so hard to grasp.. their house and their work are totaly gone... they have to start all over

I saw some footage, which was included in this video and it looked like it wan't touched. I talked to one of our board memers about an 1 hour ago. Her husband is on the city board and he looked at it and said there is very little or no damage.

if you thought this was fake ass hole.. then maybe you should come out and see the aftermath. this hasn't happened remotly anywhere close to windsor of Ft collins in Decades. it truely is a tragedy and im so fucking thankful it didnt come closer to fort collins.
