@SugarAndRainbows ha ha She does love to sleep! And, this was the first warm-ish day this year, so I think the warmth mellowed her out, like a cat lying in the sun.
Hi. I've been following Nina since your first video and actually this is my first comment for you. Hehe. I think your family is adorable and warm.
It just occurred to me, do you & your wife ever think of geting a second child? Cause I bet it'll be wonderful, and I think Nina would love to have a little brother/sister.
watching ALL of your videos is like having nina so close eventho she didnt know me :) and this video is realllyyyy heartwarming <3 nina has grown up so fast..
@geofg Thank you for the reply. I would also like to thank you for sharing your beautiful daughter(and the brief cameos by your wife/mother of Nina) with the rest of the world. Some of us didn't have the privilege of having both parents under the same roof and it is quite comforting to know that families still exist in this crazy world. The love in that household is overwhelmingly obvious as well and I can only hope to have the same wealth and success that your family has. Thank you again!
@showbizvil We do feel very lucky. I know how rare it has become for families to all stay together. My parents divorced when I was three, and most of my friends come from divorced families as well. Of course, we tend to make family from the people who are around, and if we can surround ourselves with people who will love us unconditionally and accept us for who we are, I think that can be called "family", but sadly some people don't have that. I wish you the best in making your own family!
I love how family oriented you three are. It's good to go out and do things together as a family. I think it would be really cool if you did a stop motion video of Nina some day! :)
@geofg I'm trying to get into it myself! So I'm really not all that good at stop motion right now. I'm actually majoring in photography- so I'm still learning as I go with my camera and such. But if you do figure it out, I hope you do a stop motion of Nina! I think her crazy dances would be the best haha.
@MsMalloFace Well, I could always take a bunch of still photos with my DSLR and put them together like stop motion, but that would take a long time. There must be an easier way to do it with video.
What a great major! I would have loved to major in photography! Do you have a photo site where you post photos?
Lovely~! Spring has finally sprung! Looks like you're gotten your sakura already! Up here in Hokkaido, we're still having snow squalls. Urayamashii~! haha Waiting until May for our little spring adventures. Lovely video as always!
@geofg I'm in southern Hokkaido, on the coast (east of Hakodate). I live about 30 minutes SE of New Chitose Airport. Last year our final snowfall was the first week of April. Warm is relative, ne? haha Today it's 5C and that feels warm. We won't get our sakura until mid May. I'm eager with anticipation!
Nagoya summer seems pretty nice right about now! ;)
I've been watching all of ur videos over the weekend! (stumbled across one of them on facebook). Gotta say i really admire ur parenting skills! I never agree yelling and scolding kids without proper explanation to them of wht they've done wrong. In one of ur videos i saw the comments tht u posted, one of it stated tht we need to be ready before having children. COULDN'T AGREE MORE! Thanks for uploading them videos. Nina's a gem. =)
@evekiddy I agree with you!! Kids are amazingly capable of understanding reasoning, so to just tell them do this or don't do that with no explanation is a shame. If you explain your actions, and allow dialogue about your decisions, it makes the process of learning and growing much more meaningful. I also think a lot of (but not all) parents in their 20s may be too self absorbed or too stressed out with trying to become financially secure etc. to take the energy required to do this.
@geofg alot of people dont get that! They yell and yell and most of the time the kids are just.. shocked, rather than understand that they've done something wrong! Im 24 this year and I'm in NO WAY ready to have children yet. Although i love children alot!! =) My dad did reasonings with me when I was a kid but unfortunately my mom was a yeller! LOL. I am still going through your videos. haha.
You take beautiful photographs and great videos of Nina! My dad also took a lot of pictures of us when I was around her age and I love them, I'm sure you will both cherish these times for many years to come! :-)
Enjoy the spring weather, it's still very chilly here in Michigan.
@ode2optimism That's great to hear that you like the photos your dad took when you were young. I wonder if Nina is going to get tired of me taking her picture all the time. ha ha
My image of Michigan is pretty chilly! Hang in there 'till the warmer weather comes!
Nina-chan, just as beautiful as ever! With mama & papa-san at your side. Forever growing, forever changing just as those plum blossoms. It's been quite awhile since I last saw one of your videos. As always geof, great job, they always light up my day...or night (it's close to midnight over here). Hope you guys are doing fine! ♥
@NadiaEveStudio ha ha Yeah, no need to rush into being a parent. I say enjoy being young and free and figuring out what you like first. And, I'm sure your parents are happy having you around, even if you are a pain in the butt. ; )
@Archronos1 ha ha No, I've never made money from photography, but I have always liked it. Before Nina was born, I took mostly landscape/nature type photos, but when I got my little model, I took SO many pictures of her that I got used to taking people photos, too. I still have a lot to learn about technique etc., but thanks!
@lifemango You have to enjoy the moments when they come. That was on a Sunday, and the next day became cold and cloudy and I had a long day at work, so even for me, watching this video helps me relax. ha ha
@12oranges If it makes you feel any better, this was the one warm day so far. It got colder again the next day. But, no snow, and only gets to around freezing at night, so yeah, can't complain. When does Spring come for you?
@geofg Still 2-3 weeks to the sugaring season. At least we get maple syrup out of it all. Temperature isn't bad, but this last stretch really is the ugliest part of winter. The melting snow is leaving behind sights for sore eyes. The romance of a white cover is long gone. Only a little greenery and burgeoning trees will help cover this mess.

oh man! when I saw the pic one before the last I was like "oh! perfect ending", but then came the one when she is closer. I think the last two photos should have been switched so the the slide show would have ended with Nina "going into the sunset" kinda feel. Other then than that everything else was great. I loved the semi-video feel of the walk there where you had several photos one right after the other. And good music as usual.
@mishels Interestingly, I had the last two pictures switched at first, but for some reason decided to go with this order. The last photo was taken at the top of the little hill she is walking up in the second to last photo, so this is the real order, but I know what you mean about her appearing to go into the sunset if the order is reversed. Ah, well...
the music + the photos = i love it :D
