@hippiechickie18 That is a very good question. The answer is yes, but again it is a matter of relativity. A clock on circumference of a spinning disc will be observed to run slower than one at the centre. Likewise, a ruler on the circumference oriented in the direction of motion will appear shorter than one that is aligned at an angle.
Although slightly off topic, but still quite interesting even back in the 17th century they knew the time difference between say. Cardiff, and London, but now we have the standard GMT, allegedly that business men would know what time to set their pocket watches, and know what time to catch a train. Though the time difference would be quite slight, but even still 20 or 30 mins late for a train, you wouldnt be very happy.
And with a train travelling at the speed of light youd be really stuck!
very interesting theory. if true, wouldn't everybody's time different? a racer would had his time slower than most people?
2 person born on the same day, time. if one of them is a racer, his time would be "delayed or slowed" compared to the other person, which will make him younger by possibly a few minutes or seconds?
or maybe the opposite?
because the theory states that, traveling at speed of light can make time stop.
If someone can travel at that speed, everything around that him will stop in that instance,(as everything else is speed of light slower than him) but he will still breath and age as per normal to his own time.
So if he was in 5 seconds of light speed, he would age 5 seconds more than other people?
Yeah, when they say it's been proved by practical experiments they just point to British rail network. Trains are never where/when they should be so this must be true.
Excellent video

Does this work if something is spinning instead of moving in a linear path?

yes you are right but the different in ages between the two people would be more like pico/nanoseconds that seconds or minutes I think

@xxxhkh117xxx It is true, can be experienced on quick bikes. That is why so addictive biking is.
