  • the sound of this guitar is like a les paul ??

  • @rooockme quite similar but a little brighter probably because it has a maple neck instead of mahagony. The neck is very thin and has a flatter radius on the frets.

  • nice sound !!! i love it

  • If I didn't know better, I would say its a Gibson

  • yeah give me some rokin

  • W0w your rock:-)

  • your guitar isn't an ibanez ar300!!! but very good job man! look my AR300 in my channel!!! thank's!

  • @rocxNroll mine is the 2006 AR300 BS model made in Korea. I agree it's not a classic from the 70's or one of the Made In Japan master re-issues of recent years. When they brought out the new series of japan AR300's they dropped this model and now produce an AR200 like this but made in China !

  • Very good tone you get out of that beauty!! Love that Gary Moore sound ...

  • I love this video. The song you played gives me goosebumps. Especially around 1:55-2:05. My favorite! Love the ibanez looks just like a les Paul. I love les Pauls!

  • If you like your blues done funky...then please check out CV Stomp by Guano. I think it might just scratch that funky itch. :-)

  • This sounds amazing!

  • Sounds like Joe S. are you?

  • Where can I find tabs for this?

  • Amazing, man!

  • owwchhhh...BRIGHT!!!

  • from 2:02.....the sound i have been looking for! thumbs up for Neck Pickups!!!

  • NICE GUITAR, WELL PLAYED.

  • Nicely done! Good to see and hear one of the more recent ARs getting a run out. We can't all afford the old ones :)

Have you tried any of your Irongears in the bridge of this guitar? I've got an AR200 (basically the same construction-wise) and I want to change the stock pu's. I can't decide whether to go with Rolling Mill/Hot Slag, or Blues Engine/Dirty Torque. Mmmm.

  • @Spyroid77 - Ive tried various pickups in this guitar - I have the Iron Gear Rolling Mill with Nickel cover in the neck at the moment which sounds nice but could do with being brighter. I have tried the Hot Slag also covered in the bridge which was ok but lacked any bass end. If you can afford the extra I would go with the Blues Engine/Dirty Torque combo but without covers. Also I found that changing the bridge to an Axetec Nashville style will improve the tone.

  • @Mattukgtr Thanks for the speedy reply. Yes, I've been thinking of upgrading the hardware too. I'll heed your advice, nice one :)

  • @Mattukgtr Can I ask why you recommend the pickups without covers? Thanks!

  • @ElliottsFather It is well known that thin nickel-silver pickup covers are best for transparency ie not affectung the tone. Irongear covers seem to be brass or copper and then plated and are quite thick and do muffle the sound of the pickup in my experience. In the case of the Blues Engine I recently fitted to a guitar for a friend it was uncovered and sounded great! I therefore can't recommend Irongear pups with covers.

  • i just got back my les paul yesterday with sh-5 bridge. o-m-g!! the sound is just so much better. better attacks, better harmonics, middle/highend punch is amazing. from amazon site

  • awesome I have the same guitar in Cherry Sunburst ! How much does this modification improve the Sound ? I love this guitar and would never give it away ^^

  • @DerekBeck87 Yes they are great guitars for the money. Generally the pickup gives a fuller sound than the original bridge pickup. I always found the original pickups a bit dead and lifeless. However, the SH5 has a tendancy to be bright on this guitar probably because it has a maple neck. I currently have a G&B (ex PRS SE Tremonti) on this guitar which is both lively and full sounding with a nice treble balance. Hope this helps.

  • @Mattukgtr Ok thx this helps knowing how I can improve my sound aswell :) ! I got the 2004 model btw ;) !

I see what I can do and always come back to this video when I'm looking for a great sound that matches the AR300 Cort Korean Made Guitar :) !

    thx keep rockin'

  • 3 people are... well... simply fucked in the head.

  • In what scale is it? Do you remember??

  • @TheFelix91

Sounds like C dorian mode with a few major 3rds (E) here and there.Something like alternating between dorian and mixolydian in the same key,the key of C.I don't know why it makes sense cause i just know bits and pieces of music theory but...whatever makes sense to your ears is what matters i guess!

  • youtube.com/watch?v=Psii4n2oRXU&feature=channel_video_title

  • Hot damn, you're amazing!

    As is your tone!

One thing about you I noticed, you play a rapid assault of licks and keep 'em coming, as opposed to most "blues" players, who play like 3 or 4 notes then wait a measure.

  • in every blues video i must see some undereducated blues purist whine about shredders...shredders have their own way of self expression much like blues/blues rock players do..now enough rant exceptional playing sir,you better ask for your share from Ibanaz cause you just gave them another customer.

  • Why the fuss over Gibson, this Japanese guitar is better

  • That's some funky tune bro. Way cool.

  • very nice sound

this is what makes a good guitar player

not shredders who just make it look hard

  • really nice, you didn't overshred it, groove was nice

  • Set it up as a ringtone.

  • you love pinch harmonics don't you?? :D

  • Nice licks! tone reminds me a bit of "Freedom" (jimi hendrix)

  • Love this shit so much - I'm at a total loss for words.

  • tasty tasty tasty...wow...cant imagine the super 58's being beat but wow...those souns killer!!! Nice playing guy....awesome....keep f'in rockin'!!!!!!!!!

  • WoW! Great guitar and great Guitarrist, perfect combination. Keep on rocking!!!!!!!

  • What is the price of the guitar?

I`m sorry i`m from mexico, and i don`t speak english very good. T_T Thank you...

    answer please :D

  • ill get this sound if i put SH 5 to my epiphone custom ebony??

  • @AlochEX Not exactly. The AR300 has a maple neck which makes it brighter than the mahogany neck on a Les Paul. Have a look at my other video where I do a test with a Tokai LS Les Paul with this pickup. This would be more like the tone you will get in my estimation. Obviously it depends what it's plugged into also ! - Thanks

  • fucking ridiculous. This is so epic... i cant stop listening to it!

  • Amazing!!

  • sounds a lot like the early Santana!

  • Was this an improv?

    Also....absolutely amazing.

  • Friggin' sweet, man. You play like I hear in my head and wish I could bring out.

  • I'm back. How long did you have the Duncan Custom in the guitar? What does it sound like clean? Like everybody I am looking for a bridge pickup that can cruise sweetly, but in the lead channel on a amp it can go Metal with confidence. lol. Is there such a thing.

  • Just great playing what else I can say. Did you changed pickups because the original ones were so bad or ... you just wanted SD cause they are excellent. I'm asking because just bought this guitar and am waiting for the shipment. Greetings.

  • Comment removed

  • @ibek1200 This Ar300 had the Ibanez Super58 pickups. They are ok if a little thin sounding but that depends what suits the music you want to play. The Irongear Rolling Mill works well in the neck position of this guitar. An Irongear Hot Slag in the bridge may suit you as the guitar is naturally quite bright sounding and this pup has a dark edge.

  • @Mattukgtr Thanks a lot for quick reply . I really appreciate it. Regards

  • DUDE, You played the absolute HELL out of that!!! You were feeling it, and I felt it.

  • wow, great player !

  • Which do you like more, Super Distortion or Duncan Custom?

  • @PrsFenderJackson1980 - the Dimarzio Super Distortion is the better of the two in my opinion. The SD I find a little harsh.

  • @Mattukgtr Thank you for the quick reply. One last question/s. Harsh in general or just for the blues-rock scene?

  • @PrsFenderJackson1980 - the SD has a lot of upper mids and highs but little bottom end warmth. It's well defined and cuts through but with distortion tends towards a thinner toppy sound. I recently tried this pickup on my Gibson Les Paul Standard. It's been on a few of my guitars but always gives the tonality I mention above. - hope this helps !

  • Excellent!!!

  • Jammin!

  • Oh yeah baby. This has the whole package; the guitar, the licks and the sound. Kudos!

  • I have a 2007 AR 300 Korean made..I LOVE it... I think I am going to swap out the Super 58's as well... that Duncan sounds killer...

  • What are the POD settings? Great tone and playing.

  • this guitar is better than les paul

  • wouldn't go that far! :) but it's a great guitar guitar for the bucks, I also own one of these beauties!

  • I just dig your style.

  • grande feeling!!!!

    grande cuore!!!

    grande blues!!!!

  • It's hard for anyone to keep a persons interest on a coninuous guitar riff, no vocals, no breaks just guitar. "But" you do it every time. You mess with harmonics like no ones business. Perfect placement one after another, keep them coming, I will never get tired of watching your fingers do their thing.

  • Welcome to great blues guitar.

  • nice sound, good player, thanks

  • sweet playing man, i like your style

  • Excellent playing. Lots of nice licks. BUT . . . a bit too busy. It's also about the notes you leave out. Like to hear you try to be more lyrical.

  • This is rock track so anything goes - check out my video Heartfelt Blues played on the Tokai

  • FAVORITED.

  • that neck looks sweet, great video

  • awesome playing mate

  • great tone man well done!!!!
