  • My Leptop Compaq preserio v2000 sleep around 1~2 years and Now its working perfectly:) Thanks Lots~ God Bless~

  • There are other ways of getting power into the expansion slot, I'm now using a cut-down 15 way D plug with all but 2 pins removed, I can use the mounting threads for the original expansion plug to secure the D plug onto the slot. If I get a chance I'll attach a video.

  • @throthelens

Please could you upload the video on how to use the 15way d plug. Thank you.

  • Thank you for this idea. It also worked for me..... I did find that I had to sand down the perforated circuit board just slightly in order to allow it to fit into the slot because 1/16" is a little bit too thick but all-in-all, I am pleased to get my computer back in service.

  • You can also use IDE ribbon cable entering the expansion slot, this actually puts less strain on the port

  • You can clamp down the ribbon cable using a ty-wrap through the vents below the port.

  • Hello. I used your idea of the board and it worked. I now have a problem where I can charge the battery from the DC socket and the docking port. The problem I have now is that the laptop will not running/operate directly from the main power supply from both connections. Its just weird that it can charge the battery fully. Any suggestions?

  • Um....Not sure whats happening on yours, are you getting indication that the battery is full but cant start the laptop? Try removing the battery and starting the laptop with out it just using the docking port for power.

  • Battery can be charged from both the docking station port and the DC socket when switched off. When battery is removed It tries to start (From both ports). Sometimes it gets to the XP display then just shut's down. WEIRD! Now it's even more weird. The power supply is plugged in and it's work's. Same with the docking station port. It still switches between battery and ac power frequently. I have no idea. Any clue's? or should I just replace the DC socket socket?

  • Im wondering if its got into a start-up loop due corruption fom power losses. If you have an XP disc, try booting with that in the drive, if you get as far as that you should try the Repair consol (R) and then chkdsk /r and let it run and repair itself.
