First, this event exists because some women want to play with other women for one event, just as some seniors want to play with other seniors. It isn't about inherent, gender- or age-based inferiority/superiority. And even if that's the message that some take away, since when do we care what ignorant sexists think?

Second, bracelet integrity is not an issue. The Ladies Event will never be the $50K Players Championship; a $1K NLHE will never be a Main Event. Not all bracelets are equal.

Shaun, I am behind you on this. There is no place in our beautiful game for gender segregation. A lot of the female professionals that I know do not play in this event because it is considered a lesser event. Let's over run the field with men next year and make it basically an open event. This might give meaning to an otherwise meaningless bracelet. There was at least one player in this event in 2010 who was formerly male. Doesn't that seem a bit odd?

my situation was a little different. i played because a few friends were playing and trying to talk me into it. i went to the rio to ask about playing the event at about 4:30 am. no security or anyone else searched me or made threats at this time. i asked the cashier guy if i was allowed to play, and not only did he say yes but he encouraged me to sign up as well as telling me many other guys have already signed up. i had no clue or warning i could be banned from other/all wsop events.

Shaun much of what you are saying I agree with and have been saying myself for a very long time. I have been a proponent of women's poker for many years. We need to teach women properly so they feel comfortable in playing all events, and in that manner we can encourage more women to play. Women are great contenders in poker all they need is experience and training. Any sort of discrimination is not something we should support - one of the great things is that poker is for everyone.

I was the last man standing in the WSOP Ladies Event. I'm here to confirm that everything detail related in Deeb's statement is accurate. I disagree with some of the inappropriate lines that some entrants took like the tampon - although a funny thought, this is seriously disrespectful in practice. I listened to your entire statement because I'm an open-minded person. Frankly, you sound like you're preparing to take legal action against Rio, Harrah's, and WSOP.
