  • look that energie!!!

  • ENORMEUUUUU trop trop bien !!!

  • It's extremely hard not to be jelous of her! I want to be like her so much, she's a little ray of sunshine, I have never even talked to her before, and she makes me so happy! Plus she's so beautiful, and aways smiles, and she's freaking TALENTED. Ugh I love her.

  • How can she hold her bow that way!!!! It can't have been taught. Did she just begin 'choking up' on the bow because her arms were short? Wow. Admiration rating goes through the freaking roof!

  • @MegaBarbaranne....Haven't seem many traditional Irish or Bluegrass fiddlers????...The hold she uses gives her more control as she runs, and dances around....Many "fiddles" use similar holds...Also enables faster bow speed..

  • Non se puido representar millor a nosa música (in language galician). Encantoume.

  • the guy at 3:43 is a vampire

  • i love it at 3:15, you can see the piano player nearly laughing!

  • @stover34150 he's also the director and the co-founder of the group... just so you know :). He must be really happy with Mairead's performance :).

  • when i first saw a celtic woman video (carol of the bells) i thought she was faking it because of those black things on her back and because i thought to my self "how can someone so pretty be so talented with the fiddle" then i saw one of her interviews and saw her play the (contradiction) i never had that same thought again/ I LOVE CELTIC WOMAN

  • @MrJKM1997 The "black things" are a receiver for her in-ear monitors and the other is a transmitter for the pickup on her violin. All the performers have the same setup. The in-ear monitors make it easier to control the PA system audio the audience hears and each monitor has only the audio mix they need. For instance she can hear herself and the drummers. The drummers hear themselves and her along with a click track that works like a metronome.

  • i know how many replacements celtic woman has had but if they ever replace mairead i will cry

  • I will have a video of me playing this in just a day or so! :D So come check it out. I also do other Máiréad songs on my channel! :)

  • It's Galicia, not Galiçia. Im a Celtic Galician myself, enjoying these talented women as usual, but please take a look at the title and write it properly.

  • @AlexBalonmano Hmmm... That's a valid point. Perhaps they simply want ot seem "fancy". In Madison, WI, US there are two shopping malls called East Towne and West Towne mall. Nobody spells it "towne" any more... That was just my best guess. By the by, it's great to click on somebody's profile and get rickrolled. : )

  • When this concert aired on TV, this is where it was. I had never seen nor heard Celtic Woman, but I was instantly converted.

  • @AlexBalonmano It's similar to the French spelling of façade. Most of the European languages have letters like that, such as 'æ' in German, and 'å' in Norwegian. ; )

  • She has perfected a technique that no other artist, of her kind, has even remotely approached. She has the drive and energy of someone who is totally involved in the performance. What a fantastic lady!

  • What an energy, really amazing how she flies over the stage!

  • Amazing... I look at the kids, and they are so happy for being there! In Brazil, little ones listen to funk, it's a shame. Hope I can move to Ireland someday...

  • I know, right?

  • i lov that she can play the violin and dane at the same time that is cooool :)_

  • Meigas,habelas hailas!

  • Whats the name of the instrument the man is playing along with?

  • AWESOMMMMMMEE!!!

  • She's so amazing. Mairead is what brings the most excitement into Celtic Woman.

  • she is so fucking amazing**

  • i DO BELIEVE IN FAIRIES! I DO! I DO!

    she can almost fly!

but i get so nervous for her in those heels OMG!

  • @iliketosinganddance1 I saw these lovely ladies perform. She is like a wild and free fairy on stage. She is pure joy!

  • @QueenDemonDoll i bet!

  • Mairead its like a butterfly! i love it

  • SHE IS AMAZING LIVE!!!

  • neuvěřitelné jak se dá běhal při hraní na housle :D perfekrnííí :-)

angl: amazing how she can run while playing the violin :D perfekt!! :-)

  • She can barely hold itself, a little more and she will be flying!

    Perfect truly perfect!

  • Although they seldom get the credit they earn and DESERVE, please give props to the audio engineers. This type of show and recording takes a skill level that is sadly in short supply.

  • I want to play and dance and smile like she does, she's amazing, absolutely divine! *_* Blessed be, Mairead and blessed be all the Celtic Woman!

  • I'm from Galicia (Spain) and I must say it's just fantastic..though I may say it's Galicia and not Galiçia. We are Celtic, and not Catalonian so we don't have the letter ç in our alphabet. ;-)

  • I got to meet Mairead in 2008. Unforgettable!

  • i got to go see them live for the first time back in February. my boyfriend gave me the tickets on valentines day. it was amazing! i want to go see celtic woman again so bad!

  • I would be worried about my hair getting caught in the instrument dancing around like that, anyways, this is wonderful.

  • what a wonderful woman

  • I saw them live; and during this song, I kept cringing, like, OH NO, SHE'S GOING TO EAT CRAP! as she ran around.

    She never did.

    (: Love her.

  • Oh God! Amazing women!!!!

  • YES I'VE FOUND IT EUREKA!

  • She moves like a graceful fae!~

  • NICE~!

  • ha ha! David's face at 3:16 ! That's funny! I LOVE Mairead!

  • This is one of my favorites songs for her!!! It's so... perky! But has a lyrical side as well.

  • all Celtic - Cantabric sea - my Asturies- homeland and every one celtics territorys

  • Galicia... my home!!!

  • Does she never sing?

  • @Chickidee09 Except for the occasional 'yip' and 'yelp' while playing she has only spoken three words on stage. Check out their Christmas show and "let it snow'...

  • @William2020a actually she has a song "An Raibh Tú Ag An Gcarraig" in her solo album Raining Up.

  • @TimLugia Thanks, I'll give a listen to it. I haven't checked out her album numbers because if you can't SEE Mairead perform you lose half the enjoyement.

  • @William2020a, Mairead has indeed actually spoken on stage, especially on the last tour. She introduced "You Raise Me Up" and spoke for several minutes, but I know she prefers to let her violin "do the talking".

  • I love her dress!!

  • I just absolutely love Celtic Woman! I have 2 of their CDs: "Celtic Woman" and "Songs From The Heart" and this song is on the latter CD. Check them out!! Oh, "Songs From The Heart" also has "O America!" on it!! FABULOUS!!!!

  • I wonder where Mairead hide her wings. when I watch her , I'm always wondering when she will fly into the sky . Gotta love her.

  • After years of watching violinists who, when they perform, look as if they are constipated on stage it is WONDERFUL to find a performer who looks so happy to be playing. Mairead Nesbitt rules on the violin today and I hope her 'style' catches on with other performers...

  • It's been four years since I first saw them and I still have trouble sometimes believing what I'm seeing. I love the orchestra and the celtic sounding instruments. My wife, daughter, and mom grabbed us when we were on vacation near Yosemite and we were all glued to the TV the whole time. Eileen and I had to get tickets to see them when they came to Fresno, and the only regret is that I didn't get front row seats.

  • Ok so she's wearing a dress and heels, and doing an irish jig while playing the violin. O.O Hello! This is talent and shows she loves what she does!

  • what amazing talent she has, I only discovered Celtic Women quite by accident and I'm so glad I did, absolutely beautiful

  • no ned to point out how beautiful she is, nor is it neccessity to point out that whilst doing all this in heels, she also manages to kep her smile, balance, beat, and also make this medly sound SOmuch more gourgeous than it had been before. we all adore you M'Lady so fae.

  • Mairead is the main reason I want to see Celtic Woman. The singers are fantastic, but she is the soul of the group.

  • @timtrozzo I totally agree with ya.. I saw her in Paris, She was dancing, jumping in every directions! and she's very beautiful too...

  • i am impresed and have no words to describe it : O

  • She looks like a pixie jumping across the stage. I wouldn't have been a bit surprised if she just disappeared with some sparkles, or started flying. She looked like she most definitely would have if she could have, just for the joy of it.

I play the violin, and I know how hard it would be to play that music. To be able to play it from memory, while dancing and smiling, would be such a wonderful gift!

  • She looks so happy when she's playing her violin, which clearly means she loves the music to death! You just can't be a great musician unless you love what you're playing.

  • That she can play like that while dancing around is incredibly awesome. Extreme talent. Just discovered her tonight. Was watching clips from Very Annie Mary on that lead me to this live performance. Her rendition of Shenandoah is so awesome. I was totally amazed and star struck. Going to check out everything she has been doing. Thanks for the post of this live performance.

  • Galicia ¡¡ What a great country

  • 3 people are bieber fans

  • This song is so wonder to listen to, as well as playing! :D

  • SHE is magnificent. She is a magnificent performer. But I appreciate her for her magnificent skills and performance. I WANT TO MARRY A LADY LIKE HER!!! They are hard to find here in the USA, but maybe I'm just being silly. Ha ha.

  • She is amazing!

  • the only song I like in SFTH. This new show had too few funny and upbeat songs. This, Nil Se'n La, The call, Finale. The end. Unlike A new Journey - full of joy and claps!!!

  • She has the best smile. :)

  • just one funny thing to mention about: Mairead is extremely strong for her gender and size...lol

  • wow that was awesome... you know i don't think i've ever seen just stand still and play, i'm always amazed by how high she can jump in heels and keep playing. she is a wonder.

  • I like how she just prances around the stage like it was nothing.

  • 1:22...

Just perfect! She is so beautiful! Really like a fairy! *-*

She is the most talented violinist I've ever seen!

  • pffft - finally VEVO has released this video for my country. i have the entire concert from the torrents, but at home, and at work i won't download it. so - this is great.

hurrah for irish music, probably the best music in the world. :)

  • @MelindaZ indeed, this is EPIC.

  • and in heels! holy crap!!!!!!!!!! 0.0

  • Her dancing plays the violin. Brilliant!

  • SO a faerie.

  • she IS a fairy!!

  • She's like a fairy!!

  • She's like a fairy!!

  • i loved it it sounds like indian music ..she was excellent this is my favorite part from the concert

  • This is like the essential Mairead video. :)

Showcasing the very best of her amazing musical skill, her enthusiasm, her smile, and the range of movement she incorporates into her performances!

  • At the concert I went to, she was spinning around while playing this song for 15 seconds straight! I mean, its hard to spin around in heels and a dress how it is, but to play a complex violin song TOO??? This women is insane, and I admire her so much.

  • @1darlin1angel1 She spun 25 times during this song.

  • That's some fine fiddlin' there. :D

  • Saw her perform this live last night at Red Rocks. Woman is incredible live as is she on video and cd. To watch her is just fascinating.

  • I am sure that Galicians will love to see this!

  • @etcapel For sure we love it!

  • I love Mairead and the ladies of Celtic Woman (of course)...but I'm in love with their awesome percussionists Nicky & Ray! I'm a little biased when I say that, though, because I'm a percussionist. ;)

  • HELL!!! I play violin too...but how she can play and dance at the same time without missing the tone?

  • @forcecristal With many years of intensive practive and coming from a musical family.. her mother and grandmother are also wonderfull violinists :)

  • @forcecristal...Years and years of practice....

  • Mairead never ceases to to put smile on my face! One day I'm going to go see Celtic Woman. HAS to happen or I might go crazy!

  • This angel is wonderfull playng! We can be in a hipnotic fly! Sublime!

  • Dear everyone, There are not 2 Maireads and there never will be. That's the same with you so

whenever you have that thought too, hang on to it...it's the real you speaking and

the real you listening !!!! With love from Mairead's friend too.

  • I love Mairead, She always has a smile on her face and she has the talent to make her violin "Speak"

  • Gahl. She's got so much energy! :O

  • I'm going to see them august 3rd!!!!! I can't wait!!!!

  • 1:21 is beauty captures for ever.

  • The best part about it is that she seems to be having the time of her life. That always makes the music more pure and beautiful. :D

  • She should play this in Galiçia itself. The spanish would probably dance forever by hearing this.. :)

I love that little flirting moment with the gitarist at 2:27.. She isn't only a fine fiddle player, but the way she searchs contact with her fellow musicians is adorable was well.

  • 'adorable as well' little typo..

  • Ma che bella!!!! Wordefull she is like a fairy

  • graceful, beatiful violin play and looks like she has a lot of fun to boot :)

  • this is so beautiful i cant stop listening to it.

  • Both Mairead's mother and grandmother were Celtic violinist, Mairead is third generation. You can see a video of her mother Kathleen playing on youtube at:

    watch?v=qBbmDxHT1yI

  • I can't believe she's playing the violin so well whilst jumping around in heels :O

  • @vaidegaitas You don't know what you are talking about...Mairead plays every note to every piece of music she does. She doesn't need to lower herself to the level of most of today's "Pop" stars.....

  • That Lady is perfect and one of a kind!!!

....but she crazy as hell doing all the jumping, frightening and exciting the fans at the same time :-)

God definitely broke the mould when He made Mairead

  • she is phenomenal. what a sweetheart

  • i love it i wanna practice on my viola

  • I'm learning how to play this song. I have fun when I listen to Celtic Woman.

  • The more I hear this song the more I want to hear it again and again and again....

I think it may just be physically impossible to hear this song, especially with the gorgeous Mairead Nesbitt playing it, and not break out in an ear to ear grin. Or, at the very least, just tap you foot in time to the beat. I guess that could be said about most Celtic music This is absolutely sublime. That's it! I'm going to the store and buying this video before I go crazy!

  • love it if ur listen and ur from india u will know it sounds like indian music tell me what u think

  • when my sister and i went to this concert my sister was a true skeptic until she seen her play this song she could not believe how great she was and never missed a step even after spinning around so much.

  • 1:36 just happens to be my favorite part! watching Mairead play makes me want to learn how to play the violin!

  • @ChicKa0311 Time to live one of many childhood dreams =). To learn to play the violin for sure made a rediscovery to a beautiful dream. Máiréad Nesbitt is one of many people in this world that inspires dreamers to live their imaginations =)!

  • At RCMH when she pauses for second @2:40 a few people started clapping thinking it was the end.

  • You can tell she really enjoys what she does. That was amazing!

  • my sister and i fell in love with the way she plays she is fantastic

  • Wonderful! Fantastic! Spectacular!!!

    That show!

    Congratulations!

Fort hug on this side of the ocean

    Rosan

Pilgrim / Flying - light Fisherman, peace and harmony

  • 3:16 davids face ROFL! XD

  • That's the mark of a true musician. Anyone with a thimbleful of talent can play the music. It's those who are incredibly skilled that make the instrument sing for them!!

This was one of my favorites. I hope I get a chance to go see them!!!

  • @Frontmanfrg

i got to go see them earlier this year and am planning to go again. if you have the chance, go see them cause it is amazing

  • whenever i hear this song and watch her dance around i get this happy bubbly feeling and i can't stop smiling! :D

  • Here is a most accomplished violinist that also just happens to have some attributes of a figure skater. A most amazing talent.

  • @mali2003bu yes, indeed! i couldn't put it any better.

  • I love her energy. She really brings the song to life!

  • does anybody know where i can get sheet music for this song? i love it!

  • soccergirl. I put 'The Coast of Galicia sheet music' on google and found 'musicnotes' but you have to pay $4.45 for it.

  • I like how the kid in the beginning is warming his hands up and getting excited for Mairead. So cute! Good to see that these ladies are appreciated by the younguns!

  • Favorited before I even finished the song. This is the most gorgeous playing from Mairead that I've ever seen, I could listen to it forever. It makes you so happy! :D

  • i love the way she's so enthusiastic about playing. it makes me feel bad when i feel so bored in orchestra class. =\

mairead can dance and play at the same time without looking at notes. i even have trouble keeping the instrument up. oh well.

    i love mairead!

  • @mlerox2010 she is so awesome :) only play if you really really love it :)

  • Wow that is FANTASTIC! She is having so much fun while she is playing and Matthias (her fiddle) is flawless!!

  • I really want to learn how to play this, Mairead always looks like she's having sooo much fun! :)

  • @Thenahen its kinda hard to play karaoke with a violin...

  • This performance is amazing as usual, because it's Mairead doing what she does best, dancing around the stage, playing the fiddle flawlessly while still being able to spin around in a circle and not fall. However, I would have to say that I enjoy listening and watching Granuaile's Dance more. Does anybody else feel this way?

  • @mccuty01 for me it's kind of a 50/50 thing. i love Granuaile's dance, but i love this song too. Both of them make me want to dance!! :D I think Granuaile's dance is more of a flowing dance song, and i think this one is more of an exciting, fast, dance or race or jig song. I just love them both. ^_^

  • I can just see her flitting around a meadow, with her fiddle, that expression of total joy on her face...and a beautiful set of wings.

  • The shot at 1:44 is beautiful. Someone should make it a poster.

  • @TripBoomLikeThat Agreed. If it comes out as a poster, I'm sure it will be my computer background as well.

  • OMG!!! She is so AMAZINGLY talented!!! To be able to dance around AND play that violin like that is just incredible. And I just love the music at the end!

  • I love Celtic Woman!!!!!!! They are amazing

  • I love the harp at the end.

  • If I believed in reincarnation, I would want to come back as her fiddle.

  • lolol to helenkellyfan

  • And here was me thinking nothing could outdo Granuaile's Dance

What a dumb thought that was! *slaps hand to forehead*

  • @mattycakes117

You're not the only one mate... ;) Well, let us just say this pixie keeps getting better and better.

  • its crazy that she can make all that come out of a fiddle!

  • Incredible.

  • WOW! Im 16 and LOVE THIS! Really shows that they make it enjoyable for all ages

  • But it mostly just shows that you have good taste in music. I've loved them since I heard about them three years ago when I was 15.

  • Amazing that they could take into consideration the fact the Galicia is part of the 'celtic kingdom'...

    =)

  • Considering that they live there (in the "celtic kingdom" I mean), I don't think that would be too difficult.

  • Yeah, maybe. But It's just that I never see 'non-galician' people playing galician music...

  • When you can play, YOU CAN PLAY! Hahah.

    Máiréad FTW!
