I made this for this year but instead of having the arms tied behind my back all of the time i put Velcro on the belt so if i needed to i could get my arms out i also didn't stitch the holes on the sleeves shut i put Velcro on those too

You don't have to have your arms tied while you're going around for the candy. my friend was in a strait jacket this year, and you could tell that's what it was just by lookin' at it, his hands didn't need ot be tied for that. (only had 'em tied when we were goofin' around. ^^;; )

i'm making one that looks like it's been broken out of

so basically i'll get a shirt too big for me, cut off the collar, wear backwards and attach belts to the sleeves, then use makeup and hair spray to make me look crazy.

ok first off this is a badly made tutorial. If your gonna attempt to make one of these like i did heres some very helpful tips that he doesnt tell you. Dont just buy a shirt thats bigger than the other one. Make sure you can fit the bigger shirt, you can check if it fits by wearing it backwards and seeing if you can button it up. If you cant button it up than it doesnt fit. Which means dont waste your time making it because at the end result it wont fit at all.

Do you have your user manual for your machine? Most sewing machines have a lever or button that reverse the stitch direction.

It shows but who cares. It is not meant to look real. I found two shirts that looked like they were made by the same manufacturer, but had different tags. The color match was REALLY close, but I had to narrow the width of the smaller sleeves to make them long enough. I hated to ruin two good shirts, but hey, they were just presewn fabric right?

I made this for a party at my Ex boyfriends house. I used vinyl and velcro for the straps because I was going for the look rather than functional.

At the party I pulled my arms to the front the jumped into the first position of jumping jacks, so I looked like an X. I made them guess what I was but nobody could figure it out. Then I told the, I am the crazy ex and we all ROTFL. It was EPIC!!!! Thanks Threadbanger!

Did not read my other comment did you? I live in rich asshole ville where good belts are 120.00 but I went to the fabric store and got a piece of vinyl for 2.69 and cut it into strips. Easy on the wallet and easy on the sewing machine. I made them stay with velcro, also cheep. The whole thing cost less than 10.00. It was epic.

I did this for the haunted house I work at. But I couldn't find a leather sewing needle, so I punched out holes and used eye rivets (I think that's what there called)to attach the belts to the cloth, worked great ^.^ thanks Threadbanger!

Wearing mine right now :) I just gotta put blood stains and an ID # on it. I used duct tape for the straps since I have no access to a fabric store and can't get a leather needle, and for the arm strap, I put paper clips in so I can pull free easily.

Either gonna be a zombie psych patient, or go tasteless and be an extreme PMS victim. Leaning more towards zombie (since the PMS may not even be part of the costume that week....) Pics once they're up.
