I have a type of autism myself and I know how it feels to be "different" and be outcast by everybody else. To be honest it doesn't matter if you can socialise like everybody else, what matters is you can learn to get better at it like how I have to every now and then. The show sucks anyway, all the other contestants are bullies and they didn't even look as nice as Heather.
Heather is simply gorgeous and if she didn't have a boyfriend, I would certainly date her, we have something in common. :)
@RocketeerRaccoon I agree with you in every way!:) and it's hard with someone who has autism or any disabilities for that matter, just ignore people's mean comments or gossips, and work on improving yourself;) it's difficult, but even normal people have challenges and things that needs to be improved on so don't worry so much;) I don't judge people infact I always mix with people whom other people don't mix with only because I enjoy making them feel accepted! cheers!;)

In my eyes, she is a winner because she accomplished becoming a role model. Many of the girls come through the show wanting to be a role model for young people and Heather has done that.

wow. all the usual suspects, but with a twist. most interesting thing on the comments is the breakdown. parents being condescending, a few trolls being insulting, and aspies and young fans just being supportive and respectful at the same time. she's on the high-functioning end of asperger without a doubt, but it seems that Gen-Y is getting better about normalizing the idea and accepting that the "neurotypical" personality has its weaknesses and hypocrisies as well.

i don't watch antm but was intrigued when i heard of heather kuzmichs having aspergers, having some mild asperger traits myself. while i'm sure she doesn't want to have *all* the focus being her aspergers i think &hope that her talking openly will open the eyes of so many who misunderstand/are unaware of the different kinds of minds we have to varying extents. it's also great because her openness is bound to dispel any preconceived notions that everyone with asperger's is a lost cause
I work in the Health Care and have worker with adults with Autism and other mental health problems. I admire Heather for proving that having a "disability" doesn`t necessarily have to stop you from doing what you want in life. I believe she took the most beautiful and exquisite photos on ANTM! I know she has done lots of photo shoots since leaving the show and i hope she will continue to have a very successful career as she definitely deserves it! x

She fucked up way too much to be given a third chance, how was Bianca going to leave out of one bad picture when she had won go-sees?
Gimme a break, if you people weren't so biased, you would see that her elimination was completely deserved, the girl who does the worse in go-sees almost always gets eliminated or lands in the bottom two.
Stupidest elimination ever. She should've been in the bottom two, but shouldn't have gone home. I really didn't like Bianca's photo, and her portfolio was nowhere near as good as Heather's. Jenah should've not been in the bottom two. Saleisha should've gone home for the atrocious tulip shot instead of Victoria, but her photo for this week was passable.
Yeah, but Bianca won the go-see challenge. Heather was really the only option to send home at that point, I guess. I wanted her to win, of course, she's my favorite NTM contestant of all time, but I guess she had to go.

As a mother of an AS son, I find it heart wrenching that once again, the person with AS cannot even see that the AS DID play a role in her experiences. The panel directly said, you need to work on communication..that is an AS problem...so her AS DID get in the way of what she wanted to do..and she cannot even see it..which again, is very common with AS.

A lot of people with Asperger's seem completely "normal". That's part of the problem, and why it's hard to understand. I do agree previous post seemed a bit dramtic though. And I'm sure Heather understands well enough.
I have a son with Aspergers and he could be a male model, he is 15 and just gorgeous!! Too bad, he doesn't see himself like that, he is a typical teenager. Heather is such an inspiration, she is not afraid to follow her dreams, instead of making excuses.......she goes for it!!

over time people with aspergers in a way "outgrow" the effects. like we just learn faster and blend in more. like im 14 and i hav aspergers and pretty much am normal. but 1 year before i was wicked wierd and it wouldnt be a surprise.

Having ADHD myself, combined with anxiety/OCD,I understand a lot of her struggles. &From what I saw on the show, she was quite effected by ADHD. I have a form of aspergers. For me, it's uncomfortable looking into someones eyes, being social is hard for me, because you get nervous, and you don't know how to act in front of other people. Does anyone have this with aspergers?
yeah, i usally dont look into other peoples eyes when i speak to them, especially if ive just meet them... but ive tried to make a point of it when i go for an interview because ive always been told to... im kinda ok in a one-to-one if someone is speaking to me but get really imidated in groups.. its makes it really difficult i just want to run away.
Heather is gorgeous. However, she obviously was eliminated based on her problems with speaking in front of a camera. She showed that she can be photographed and be in a video. However, the later part of the competition is mainly about being a spokesperson. She would have been eliminated earlier if she were tested in this area.

The panel directly said, you need to work on communication..that is an AS problem...so her AS DID get in the way of what she wanted to do..and she cannot even see it..which again, is very common with AS.

First things first, how the hell doe SHE have asperger's syndrome?! She seems completely and utterly normal.
Secoundly, I don't think you should be contradicting what she feels and thinks about what she found difficult, it's her opinion and you should respect that.

A lot of people with Asperger's seem completely "normal". That's part of the problem, and why it's hard to understand. I do agree previous post seemed a bit dramtic though. And I'm sure Heather understands well enough.

over time people with aspergers in a way "outgrow" the effects. like we just learn faster and blend in more. like im 14 and i hav aspergers and pretty much am normal. but 1 year before i was wicked wierd and it wouldnt be a surprise.

i liked heather as soon as i saw her fumble her runway walk on the boat in casting (before i found out she had aspergers and adhd) i liked her awkwardness, who cant relate to that and i like that she stood for those kids who arent noticed who sit in corners cause nobody wants to talk to them , come on we've all been there.

She bullied Heather, and I believe it was because of her disabilities and I know what that feels like, believe me... Urg, maybe it's just me. But I hate how they pretty much ignored her having ADHD. In this, and ANTM. To quote her; Asperger's "really didn't effect me that much." Having ADHD myself, combined with anxiety/OCD,I understand a lot of her struggles. &From what I saw on the show, she was quite effected by ADHD. Nothing against Asperger's, but it seemed like they blamed it ALL on that. I just wish they would have given ADHD some attention too... Regardless, Heather is my hero. ILU HEATHER!<3

I have a form of aspergers. For me, it's uncomfortable looking into someones eyes, being social is hard for me, because you get nervous, and you don't know how to act in front of other people. Does anyone have this with aspergers?

yeah, i usally dont look into other peoples eyes when i speak to them, especially if ive just meet them... but ive tried to make a point of it when i go for an interview because ive always been told to... im kinda ok in a one-to-one if someone is speaking to me but get really imidated in groups.. its makes it really difficult i just want to run away.

Heather is gorgeous. However, she obviously was eliminated based on her problems with speaking in front of a camera. She showed that she can be photographed and be in a video. However, the later part of the competition is mainly about being a spokesperson. She would have been eliminated earlier if she were tested in this area.
