Doubtful. Right after this she underwent vocal surgery to "fix" her voice which has left it quite restricted. You know the saying "when something's not broke don't fix it". Well apparently the people that launched her comback and into a surgeons chair had never heard it before.
For "I Look to You" when she started her voice was so damaged that they thought the best thing to do was to rush and do corrective surgery. The corrective surgery is only capable of restoring as much as 70% of vocal ability but they feared she might not even gain that much back.
What they should've done is waited it out. If you're a fan you've heard her voice go back and forth from the best to the worst. They jumped a gun and for that reason I don't think it'll change much from this.

Well, i am extremely disappointed after watching this video, her voice is gone...unless she had a bad throat or an infection (which she has made it clear that when she does, she cancells) her voice is pretty much gone. Chaka Khan recovered her voice after sounding disasterous for a long ass while. Whitney is recovering better than she did. Just listen to her sing on "Family First" from 2006 and compare that mess to this.
This isn't sounding great, that's all I'm saying. I want her to make a recovery. Hopefully the new album will be good, but I'll be interested to see the live performances of the songs.

Recovery? Do you believe she can get back ALL of what she had? Well, it's mainly the range that's gone out of wack. Everything else is pretty much in tact. Like Mariah--still got pretty much all of the range, but her control just sucks.

What has happened to our amazing female singers? Beyonce and Xtina are great, but they do not compare to Whitney and Mariah. And now they've both deteriorated vocally. I think Whitney had the better voice but nowadays i prefer MC's vocals--she doesn't try singing her old songs and plays it safe although she lipsyncs certain parts of her songs.

i was merely asking what happened to great singers' amazing voices. They're way too young to be deteriorating vocally. They're not even 50 yet! And MC does lip sync sometimes. I'm not blaming her for it, she has to rest without really resting. But Whitney's brave, I commend her for performing. She sounds better than Mariah, who obviously doesn't have the same control over her voice due to what i'm sure must be inflamation on her vocal chords.

You guys it's great to have hope, but with whitney it's done, don't be so naive look forward to, support, and appreciate the upcoming stars of this generation. With Whitney you can see how badly her vocal chords are strained, even when speaking, let alone singing, just review old interview footage vs now, and you'll see what i mean, god bless her and her family, but she should just retire gracefully, or record new music to better suit her range now and forget trying old songs.

Well, i am extremely disappointed after watching this video, her voice is gone...unless she had a bad throat or an infection (which she has made it clear that when she does, she cancells) her voice is pretty much gone. The sound is different, it has alot less power. Oh well, she chose to live the life she has so far and this is the price one has to pay :(

no... when you sing in a different key, the notes can be higher or lower... so this person was correct in saying it is noticibly lower, because it is in a lower key...

Its called RECOVERY!! She is taking her time to get her album together so she can RECOVER HER VOICE! Stop being retarded. She has sobriety, a teenage daughter among other things to worry about, yet she is still putting in as much work as possible into her vocal recovery.
Chaka Khan recovered her voice after sounding disasterous for a long ass while. Whitney is recovering better than she did. Just listen to her sing on "Family First" from 2006 and compare that mess to this.

Thank u! This performance was a hell of a lot better than the KL. The entire concert was better, I mean she sang songs better than she has in nearly 10yrs. I mean 10yrs. Come on when was the last time you heard he sing SAMLY, or the GLOA. Never! Why because she didn't condition for it. Here in this concert she proved she can still sing damn well. Oh, and 1 more note, she still sounds better than Celine, Mariah who ever live. She haters its ok to frown. SHES BACK!! Haha!

Ya knw people kill me. First off Whit's voice is back, this is it people. I mean this performance was nearly like she performed back in the mid 90's. Wht are they talking about???? I'm lost. This entire concert was on par. She sang songs better than she had in 99. So wht ever people are talking about is bogus! Period! I will agree that she's singing in a lower key. But you barely tell, and Lastly, if the Damn crowd would have shut up than you would have heard tha the power and range is there.
