  • look at that like/dislike bar, its like a lit joint ! sounds reasonable when listening to this amazing song.

  • When this was written, it was ahead of their time.

  • chills at 2:15

  • One of the most underrated RUSH songs of all time. MASTERPIECE !

  • The Casey Anthony theme song

  • Geddy sounds soo on in this video i love it.

  • RUSH, EL SONIDO QUE LOGRAN EN EL ESTUDIO DE GRAVACION LO LLEVAN CASI IDENTICO A LOS CONCIERTOS, GRAN BANDA BANGUARDISTA

  • This is my favorite Rush song, and it's so awesome live. I've been lucky enough to hear it twice. I love how Alex just tears it at the end, something you won't get on the album version.

  • This one was the"dog" on Moving Pictures and still is . But as an average to below average song for them, it speaks lyrically Ill give it that. Its for sure one of the (lets take a break ) songs !!!!!!!

  • @TheBgaddy that should speak volumes for the other six tracks, then.

  • fantastic! brings me back to "Moving Pictures" thanks for posting, they get better with age, Alex is phenominal

  • Amazing live song, amazing lyrics, amazing band! :)

  • This song could totally be about the Tea Party.

  • @euphemismlife You're right, but not the way you think. "Those who know what's best for us" are the enemy of the Tea Party. Want to rise and save me from myself? No thanks.

  • @jode72

The Tea Party is just a bunch of white people afraid of a black president. They suck. While Rush kicks ass.

  • what a great song to see live by them...from the Moving Pictures album....

  • It's been transposed up somehow. I noticed that just by listening to the first five seconds.

This is a great song, though. I love it as it was played on that tour.

  • manchester whoop get in!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i just gave birth in awe. and i'm male, weird

  • Witch Hunt is one of my all time favorite songs. I've always thought that on the Show of Hands version that Neil's drums were particularly powerful. But, on this version that Alex's guitar steps to the forefront. Rush never ceases to amaze me. Thanks for posting a great video!

  • This has to be one of the bands most underrated tunes. What a masterpiece. Hail to The Kings!

  • @MegaRushFan1

I totally agree. Maybe in another album it would be more known, but moving pictures it`s filled with great songs.

  • They almost screwed up and included more than 3 seconds of Geddy playing or singing in the video.

  • I actually think seeing moving pictures this year is the best thing to look forward to all year... I live in Holland, and I will come home to the UK to see them twice... Rush - how can three men make such a sound?! The godly trio... I bow down to you all...

being a drummer seeing NP will be unreal!

  • RUSH "WITCH HUNT SNAKES ARROWS"

  • Glasgow, May 14th! COME ON!

  • WOW.... what a great bootleg. Sound is superb. REDISCOVER RUSH. Be thankful they're still touring. What a great bunch of guys. Simply Epic

  • See you at the O2 on May 15th Brian!!

  • man the sound and video are like 2 seconds off!

  • Geddy Lee is a machine!!!

  • I just don't get it.....why are they not in the Hall Of Fame.......This is one of there best songs... but there are so many how can you pick. I have pictuers of the first time they came to San Antonio.......Sweet.....The best Drummer in the world.....Best Bass and one of the best guitarist.

  • @hanginstu to be in the r and r hall of fame you have to write shitty songs, be a lousy musician, and have been in some sort of rehab, cmon i thought you would of known that

  • video is a little shaky but, sound quality is amazing!!!!! good job mate!

  • Redsharkman - i had a Napoleon Dynamite moment when you said you got to see them play Moving Pics all the way through ...."Lucky" - yeah - I'm a dork!!!

  • Back in the 80's Alex used to play this song on a Strat.... Man does it sound so much better on that Les Paul... Big difference !

  • This is one of my all time favorite Rush songs. This live version is absolutely stunning.

  • I love this song and as always; Rush nails it. Alex is one the, if not the most bad ass under rated guitarist in all of rock n roll! The song itself in my opinion maybe one of the most perfect songs ever written simply on the aspect of the ominous atmosphere it creates in lyrics and music!! Okay - that statement was a bit overly philosphical but what the hell!! Great song - great band!

  • @kacres1 Agreed, I've heard some good songs but Witch Hunt is my favorite from Rush, and easily in my top couple of favorites of all time. I just saw them last night and was quite stoked at getting to watch Moving Pictures all the way through.

  • BAD...ASS...SONG! What an awesome guitar riff, and these are some of Neal's better lyrics.

  • Comment removed

  • @Lamykopatygaros and "fear" walk hand in hand. Not "we"

  • @Lamykopatygaros close, it's "quick to judge, quick to anger, slow to understand! Ignorance and predjudice...and fear walk hand in hand.."

  • The first time I saw RUSH I kind of knew what to expect. I knew Neil would be god like. I knew Geddy would be bad ass, but what surprised me the most was Alex. He really stands out when you hear them play live. He never gets the attention he deserves.

  • @Toolshed76 Yeah, Alex is probably the most underrated guitarist out there, or close to. He takes a diminished role in some of their more synth-oriented songs, but he really is awesome.

  • Nsaid TOOL are copycats, saying theyre one of the few bands as musically complex while incorporating a myriad of knowledge as well as never staying true to who there are..I was saying 'Vapor Trails' had a Toolish vibe to it(NOT the other way around dip shit-the heaviness-where 'Snakes & Arrows' is far diff. But 666 you seem to get off on confrontation,& make VERY lil sense.Maybe you should listen to more Tool,ya know about shedding the ego-your opinion is not the 'be all-end all'-& niether is mine

  • Listen to Alex on the 'Vapor Trails ' cd-sounds like Adam Jones from Tool.Great stuff-WAY underated record in my opinion. They do it justice on the 'Rush in Rio' dvd.Part of Pearts healing process. For a drummer like me-Rush is like 'required reading'-as Hendrix,Page,etc...are for guitar players.I start my younger drum-set students out on Bonham first though to get that fundamental foundation.Danny Carey is the peart of today, though thats like comparing apples & oranges-its all relative.

  • @TheSoulcraft wit the fuck like andam fookin jones from tool.DONT FUKING THINK SO DICK .TOOL RUSH HAVE BEEN OUT FOR OVER 30YRS YOU TWAT

  • @TheSoulcraft wtf are you all about this tool are copycats shite

  • That Les Paul grind sure comes in handy on that song. Wow.

  • great song

  • Saw these guys live in Atlanta Wow It was like a spiritual thing never been so moved

  • can't wait for the Boys to come home on this tour (Toronto)...playing the whole MOVING PICTURES album in it's entirety!!!

  • @Vatch1966 the WHOLE moving pictures in its ENTIRETY eh? kinda like the same words. haha but yeah its gonna be sick. im going to the Sarnia show. gonna be a night of eargasms

  • oil spill off gulf coast...the fear of blob is coming to get my paranoid conspiracy theory ass... we burn the midnight oil

  • Man, this song creeps and crawls and just gets under your skin.... So awesome.

  • I'm looking forward to them doing this during the upcoming tour as they're doing the entire Moving Pictures album. Considering the political climate down here in the States, the timing is right - especially for Witch Hunt.

  • @Triplecenturies totally agree, I can't wait till the concert I'm going to! Especially this song, this is one of my top few favorites out of the entire Rush catalog.

  • It's so awesome to see that they still do this song live....what a fat sound and nice effect on the vocals. I have always been, and will always be a Rush fan for life !!!

  • Great BOOTLEG! good job - roll on

  • The video does not go with the audio.

  • it's the audio frm the CD for SNA Live

looks like he tried snyching it up wuth some footsge he took from a show

    I don't think he did a bad job .

the audio sound fine to me

  • man those drum fills are just extremely tight fast and precise!! insane drummer!!

  • With a riff this heavy and tone to match...How could you not crank it?

  • The liner notes in "S & A Live" mention Alex as co-producing, hence the mix being guitar-heavy.

  • Man Alex has some filthy tone, love this tune. The music just matches the lyrical content like a glove. No one does it better then rush. Great sound on this bootleg..

  • @xyz321123 Filthy tone and it sounds even dirtier when you hear how clean the drums and vocals are next to it. It makes it clear that it's the guitar and not the recording. What a great video!

  • i dont think you should have "snakes & arrows live" in the title

  • Guitar too loud, someone said? Well good god, look at the stack behind Alex. Gotta figure if those cabinets all have heads & power, it's gonna be noisy.

I like the live 1984 version that's out here on youtube. It's in the original key (a bit lower), and has a truer feeling to it. Could be the memory lane thing going for me too, I guess.

  • Yeah, I got the Rio dvd and HATED the mix. The performance was real high energy and they fed off the cowd BUT they mixed too much of the crowed singing along into it. I wanted to hear RUSH, not a bunch of off key drunk Brazialians.

  • lol

  • @bohs1984 - I agree. It's nearly unlistenable.

  • Such a great opening although it's really creepy, probably my new favourite RUSH song! c'mon!!!

  • Without a doubt,I'd have to say that this is my favorite track off MOVING PICTURES hands down!!

  • Without the cymbals in the first chorus, it sounded really empty...

  • I saw this show, and to me this song was the highlight... got goosebumps. Such a jam!

  • LOVE this song...would listen to it on LP back in the 80's and turned it up loud. Annoyed my Mom in the process.

  • God damn this live album T.T

I can't even listen to it anymore without wanting to murder all of Rio.

  • what do you mean? they didn't play witch hunt on the vapor trails tour.

  • ????

  • get snakes and arrows live. The DVD sounds excellent - the crowd does not drown out everything and the bass is heavy

  • I agree. Totally underrated song.

    It's AWESOME!

  • I love the part when the lazer show kicks in and the keyboard parts kick into high gear with the guitar and the fog mixes with the lazers...absolutely mind blasting!!

  • This is probably one of their most underrated songs ever...Great lyrics..great keyboards....and some nice guitar work to finish it off.. OH...and not to mention some kick-ass drumming by Neil....

  • "QUICK TO JUDGE, QUICK TO ANGER, SLOW TO UNDERSTAND"......1 of their BEST SONGS EVER.....AND LYRICALLY.

  • Amazing lyric there indeed.

  • Nice Footage! Good syncing as well
