@Smashinz2002 Only if you live in a country where all the measurements are based on the lenght of feet and cocks and the number of potatoes you can carry in your asshole.
I just love Suzuki for one special reson. They make the Big Bore Bikes. None of this greasy kids junk. The bandit is not a Sportbike, but it's a tourque monster , so good luck in the quarter mile, us Bandit riders just have to hold on for dear life ( =
BTW, aside from the fact that I wish Suzuki would simply let the engine run to redline in 6th gear, I have NO complaints about my beautiful, beautiful Bandit 1250S. I've owned a lot of motorcycles, I've got 10,000 miles on this one, and it simply the most satisfying all-around ride I've ever experienced. It's comfortable, it's fast, it's hot looking with the chin-fairing, hugger fender and a Yoshimura S3 stainless slip on, and it gets compliments wherever I go.
I have a 2008 1250S, and it seems to be electronically limited to about 151 mph indicated. I was on a long downhill section of freeway, tucked behind the bubble in sixth gear, and held it open. It roared right up to 150 and then it felt as if I had rolled off the throttle about halfway - but I still had it against the stop. Hmmmmm....
It is a large bike, a bit too bulky on the front end for my tastes.
I still prefer modding the 650f into a competent tourer, but the power on the 1200 is definitely nice to have.
As for the Kawa sport comparisons. It's silly to compare sport tourers to sports. Whether it be rivals like Suzuki and Kawasaki, or anything. The Triumph sprint may be the exception to the sport tourer rule, but generally sport tourers are still not sports.
is curious why Kaw riders claim they can smoke the Bandit. Of course they can, Bandit is a sport touring bike....Not a Sportbike. -eyeroll- Now, Kaw riders, Go race a Gixxer, Cause we all know the outcome of that. Suzuki > all the rest
Nice to know what it will do, isn't it? You should be able to get a little more speed though, depending on wind and temp and time of day. I had a 2003 1200S that I got up to 163 mph. It was still gaining speed when I let off the throttle.
my Maxim x went 145 only twice. Perhaps i should have stated that, other wise top speed was mostly 135 to 140. The maxim X, is not the normal Maxim bikes. It's the 5 valve per cylinder Genesis engine. Race engine in a cruiser body.
But the bike is super slow compared to bikes of today.
sorry to interupt your argument, just wanted to comment on something about the bandit. The bandit's meal ticket is not it's top speed. it's the bandit's torque. there are very few bikes that can top the Bandit's torque. Just something to consider.

i know the bandit has nice torque the kawasaki zrx1200 would smoke the bandit like a bad habit. but both bike have a huge down side their about 15 tons. the bandit is a sweet ride but its nothing special.
Live and let live / Live and let die. Minding one's own business is a good policy nowadays. BTW, I've gone that fast on a motorcycle and it feels fantastic... even life changing. 100% recommended experience...
Don't take a look at a GPS at that speed shown by your display of the Bandit. At aprox. 245 km p/h on display speed of my 1250SA, my Zumo gives 213 km p/h...
While everyone else is faffing about changing gear, I just open the throttle in whatever gear i happen to be in. I love the torque of my 1250GT.

I have had 70mph out of mine and that is fast enough for an old fella like me.
I too have got a bike cam and have got some brilliant footage. Including a fella driving a police car like a loon.

About 155 MPH.
Secretblend 2 years ago
155? Hmm, Makes me wonder why IF........I want t go fast, would i buy that bike, when my old 1985 Yamaha Maxim X 700cc will do 145mph?
You would think your bike would have a much higher top end huh? I was just curious of the top end speed, considering it
johnbambammorgan 2 years ago
Bullshit a Maxim 700 won't do 145.
455Transam 2 years ago
No you bullshit, My Maxim did 145MPH and i had a yamaha FZR-750 and that would do 155pmh.
No lie! Why would i lie, what would be the point?
johnbambammorgan 2 years ago
Never said you were lieing.....you're mistaken though.

There was no argument, I'm fully aware how fast my bike went. It only went that fast about twice, otherwise it was the 135mph mark.
i do not know why that dude was tripping over what i said, who really cares anyway. TORQUE?
That is fun. i rode my buddies 900RR, amazing torque back in 1993 or 1994. They are faster now a days.

About 251 km/h original, after changing exhaust called SR Racing 258-261, max 263. Measured same day with same weather conditions.

Nice video. I have seen 265 on mine('07 1250 S) with a power comander and yoshimura RS-3 exhaoust

I have seen also i in the milometer recently 260[km] without PC-III, only with the evaporation and the original filter. but unfortunately I filmed

Y go with mine 257km/h!

Don't take a look at a GPS at that speed shown by your display of the Bandit. At aprox. 245 km p/h on display speed of my 1250SA, my Zumo gives 213 km p/h...
Still nice figures to see on your display :-)
pvdmeul 3 years ago
This is correct, the difference of clue of milometer with gps when it showed 253 [km] are 14 [km], that is to say, 239 [km] really
scottyfjr1300 3 years ago
Quite close to my guess (235 Kph real). Pretty fast though...
sparklysparks77 3 years ago
You can do better! My Naked 1200 top speed 260 km/h on video. Without camera 273 km/h.
