I agree the NCAA doesn't seem to be consistent but what does it tell you when a coach(Cal) goes to 2 F4's and then has them both erased? Cheating rumors have followed him everywhere he goes. I watch UK games all year every year because obviously I'm a UK fan.
Just this past year UK was in the top 10 maybe top 5 in free throw percentage in the entire nation, so don't tell me that they're not GREAT at free throws.
I really don't understand why everybody is so upset with Tubby. We might not have been to the final 4 except once with him, but he did COACH the 1998 team. I mean seriously cut the guy some slack. We had the number 1 overall seed in 04-05 when Rondo started as a FRESHMAN, as well as Morris. It takes a LOT of coaching to make it to the elite eight starting 2 true freshman. We had Rondo, Sparks, Azubuike, Hayes, and Morris. That sounds like a very good line-up, so Tubby done some recruitin as well
We did not have the #1 overall seed in 2005. We were a 2 seed in our region. Illinois had the overall #1 seed. Duke was the #1 in our region but got beat out by #5 seed Michigan State, who went on to beat us in the elite 8. We were the overall top seed in 03 and 04. 2004 was the first year they started seeding the top teams.
I think people are upset with Tubby because he became lazy the last two years and didn't bother recruiting worth a damn. Look at his last three classes and see how terrible they were. Also, he already had a deal worked out with Minnesota as early as December of 2006 while he was still coaching us. That was pretty cold.

I really don't understand why everybody is so upset with Tubby. We might not have been to the final 4 except once with him, but he did COACH the 1998 team. I mean seriously cut the guy some slack. We had the number 1 overall seed in 04-05 when Rondo started as a FRESHMAN, as well as Morris. It takes a LOT of coaching to make it to the elite eight starting 2 true freshman. We had Rondo, Sparks, Azubuike, Hayes, and Morris. That sounds like a very good line-up, so Tubby done some recruitin as well

We did not have the #1 overall seed in 2005. We were a 2 seed in our region. Illinois had the overall #1 seed. Duke was the #1 in our region but got beat out by #5 seed Michigan State, who went on to beat us in the elite 8. We were the overall top seed in 03 and 04. 2004 was the first year they started seeding the top teams.

I think people are upset with Tubby because he became lazy the last two years and didn't bother recruiting worth a damn. Look at his last three classes and see how terrible they were. Also, he already had a deal worked out with Minnesota as early as December of 2006 while he was still coaching us. That was pretty cold.

You're right. Tubby was especially a good coach at motivating defenses. The year after Prince left he turned that 03 team into abunch of ballers! and recruited the top class w morris and rondo in 05
