That's true, he's not THAT good at singing but he has a nice voice, and second but more important, looks like you are forgetting that HE wrote this song which everybody loves. (obviously ALMOST everybody). Well, you are only see only bad things, and since I'm a songwriter (even if not this kind of songs) I appreciate this man maybe more as a songwirter than as a singer.

@skaven93 Thanks for this. I didn't know he wrote it, because I failed to research his real name. Replay was written by Rock City, Keidran Jones, Jonathan Rotem, Jason Derülo; Keidran Jones is Iyaz. It is a nice song with catchy lyrics and melody, and while popularity does not define "quality" at all levels, if you're trying to sell music or be famous, quality is popularity. His voice sounded fine in person live, but after hearing it over and over, there's no question that better singers exist.

Slightly of tune? What a load of ^%$#^. He sucks life; period. Why? Simply because he cannot sing good without his auto-tune (or even the fact that he doesn't sing WITHOUT it). There are plenty of artists that perform amazing live; Craig David, Usher, Justin Timberlake, Backstreet Boys, Seal, Jesse McCartney to name a few. This guy is a shame to the TRUE music industry.

To be devil's advocate, have you actually heard John Mayer sing in person at a private party? But the more I read these comments, you do have a point here. The fact is that many very popular artists aren't the most talented singers or musicians. But some pop artists are very talented, and there are many struggling singers and musicians out there who are way more talented than famous folks.

As I listen to this video, I notice the vocal flaws more and more. But that night, and when I first put this video together, I didn't notice. So everything is relative. In the moment, seeing a very popular artist sing along with his song was very exciting. Nobody noticed his voice wasn't the greatest. Now as we watch it on this boring video, the flaws come into focus. So while I agree he may not be the greatest singer, he did the job he was asked to do that night, and nobody was complaining.

PS Did anyone hear Taylor Swift singing on the Grammy's? She was flatter than a pancake. Does this mean she's not a good singer? Or was it the acoustics in the room? Was she high on barbiturates? checked out Kings of Leon: very good, but I don't see evidence of serious musical talent. I checked some of their live videos too: no problem with singing off tune, but there is very little complexity in the the melody lines or in the chord structure of these songs. To me talent means ability to create complexity. I guess the goodness of music is in the ear of the beholder, and one person's idea of talent maybe another dude's idea of crap!
