@jakefree25, As another example, television shows are free market, but rather than pay for every show you want to watch (which is annoying and taxing) they are bundled into channels, and those channels bundled into cable packages with competition on every level. Roads would do the same thing, with packages of roads being available and bidded on. The result would be similar: incredibly high quality entertainment (the best in the world) available for incredibly cheap.
I like how Sirota implies that libertarians would live in a world without roads. The fact that libertarians don't want the government to build roads doesn't mean that they wouldn't exist. Who says this man is smart?
Indeed it does. Much like it would sound dumb if free market computers required you to pay by the key stroke. But the good thing about free markets are, they're smarter than you. If you had your choice in roads would you go to the one where you have to stop and pay or the one with the free electronic pass that costs $10 a year? Would you go to the one with potholes or without?
This is an economy of scale and free markets are very good at dealing with them.
Agreed! I would trade this 5 minute intro for a 2-minute exchange in the middle of this debate. I know Dennis & Mr. Sirota spends his introduction talking about all of his good accomplishments.

So every street or road you drive on would have to be a toll road, that sounds really dumb.

This illustrates exactly why I respect Dennis Prager. He damn near turned my Catholic mother into a Jewish woman. She respects him that much.
