  • Remember that Dharma & Greg episode where Dharma and Jane went grocery shopping in the 1950's? Oh and I'm thinking if you have a wide, flat lazy Susan you could use that too especially when it comes time to attach the mirrors pieces... :D

  • Where did you buy the mini round mirrors.?:3

  • @4EverMCR22 you can get them at crafts stores, (duh lol) ;)

  • @thedonutprincess well duh. But the craft stores around me dont have any. So i wanna know if its from online website or a specific store.

  • @4EverMCR22 you could try your craft stores website or hobbylobby . com and click shop oniline or joann . com

  • @thedonutprincess

    SHUT UP TROLL!

  • @thedonutprincess

    SHUT UP!

  • this is beautiful! I must do!

  • hi this is nice but can u tell me where i can get drawere rods????????

  • LOVEEEE!!! THANKS!! Also, you look like Gwenyth Paltrow. Pretty!

  • Can't we just use spray paint instead ?

  • can u teach how to make a message board? its very expensive in this country and i really lyk homemade stuff better:)

  • Meg how much did all the accessories cost (ballpark)?

  • So flipping amazing

  • Do you have any projects that you won't have to buy any thing but I still like this video ;)

  • We miss you, Meg :( And Corinne...and Rob :(

  • I think this is a wonderful project if you are feeling crafty and have some time on your hands. But i found this exact piece in all metal for $10 at the store...and it seems like all the materials would cost way more than that. Again beautiful outcome...but do you think you could put the price of all of your materials cuz its probably more that $10. I'm in school. I'm broke. LOL

  • Yeah!! I'm so there dude! Can't wait to try this.

  • The womam speaks to fast. In the fifties you articulate each word. That goes for announcing too. Slow down and talk to us.

  • whoaaaa, soo simple yet really nice design ;], im difinitely makign this!

  • im making one as we speak, lol :]

  • aww man :( when i clicked on this i thought it was starburst as in the candy :P loll

  • Neat-O!!!

  • Meg I'm loving your tutorials!! Keep up the great work :)

  • i hate the new youtube thing, you can't rate!!!!!! (not counting like/ dislike

  • Plz Threadbanger, stop using that beep sound in the middle of the videos because its gives me an epileptic crisis. Thanks.

  • I would never use a hot glue gun. Too dangerous. I used once with my dad when I was little and I burnt my fingers so I guess I'll use other gluing methods on this.

  • Its Lucy!!!!! <3

  • thank you so much!

  • This mirror looks epic! (: I think I'll make one for my room.

Just have one question, How thick are the dowels??

  • This is absolutely gorgeous. I've already started making mine!!!! lololol

  • 4:07 bum bum one dog two dogs death!!!

  • Ahhh i just bought spray paint and skewers/dowels :) can't wait to make this!!

  • That's my girl! *laugh track* lol classic

  • That's legit,

you guys should make more 50's inspired stuff.

  • 1950

  • hi threadbanger! i just wanted to ask if you could show us how to make another 50's inspired craft except smaller? i already have a vintage pepsi cola bottle and some vintage tins any other ideas? thanks!

  • were do you get liquid leaf and what is it anyway?

  • that is so cool, i'm gonna make one for my room. :D

  • wow really cool!

  • Anyone know the 3 sizes of the mirrors? I want to do this for a teen group craft and will probably try to order them in bulk.

  • this was very cute!!!

  • Cool, I'm going to try this. : )

  • :o link to the blog of the round up/jump start contest?

  • super awesome! it look amazing!!!

  • Meg is the shit...I love you Meg! :-)

  • I love you right back, hipretty!

    xo, Meg

  • ;-)

  • One extra tip- I tried making this but I used silver spray paint instead- it made the project go much faster . :-) thanks for the idea!

  • That's what I was thinking would be easier.. did you paint the sticks before attaching them?

  • Awesome!

  • that is a really cool mirror!

  • brilliant!

  • Nice Nice ~

  • im not much of a sewer so i really love decor it yurself better! it should be its own channel!

  • Bitchin ! Yeah, I figured I'd use a term that no one uses anymore :) heheheh LOL

    Very Nice :)

I'm gonna try making this one :)

This is just way too cool not to try and make :)

  • Can you give a little more info on the paint you used??? This is really pretty and I seem to remember seeing stuff like this when I was a child.

  • Amazing C:

  • freaking cool

  • Niiiiice! Looks great, and not complicated at all. Tahnks, Meg. You rock

    *sparkles*

  • Loved this.

  • you can also paint the sticks first...

  • metallic spray paint seems like an easy alternative as well.

  • ...but then they aren't going to be able to dry in mid-air!

  • Hot glue is tacky enough, she did so it should be fine

  • WoW! thats great

  • meg is the best <3

  • Awesome!!

  • love it!

  • Did anyone else catch Meg's feature in this month's Altered Couture magazine? They published her cape tutorial! Way to go!

  • I loved it.

  • That is so CREATIVE :D I LOVE IT!!!!

  • The music is from the wrong time period it's almost half a century off. Still like the mirrors though.

  • ointing is rude, i still gave it 5 stars.

  • I love how you made this a real piece. The size makes it a work of art that could hold it's own above a mantle or as a headboard. This is an awesome starburst mirror!

  • Love it, but the pewter seems a bit boring, and the dowels and skewers should be shorter in my opinion.

  • thats the whole point of DIY, you can customize it to suit your taste

  • Which is why I said in my opinion. Not your opinion.

  • The moment at the end with the dogs is priceless!

  • I have seen these beautiful pieces in high end design stores, but never imagined I could actually have one. Thank you MEG!

  • I love mid-century design. This is such an awesome way of bringing it into your home without spending a lot of money. Threadbanger rules!

  • I love Meg's tutorials, ones like this anyways, I don't dig the cleaning supplies ones or what not. But this one was very nice!

  • NICE!

  • You could go to old carboot or garage sales and look for old mirrors. Think about different shapes. You could even make a mirror out of broken ones. Just look at the shapes you have at disposal and sketch out some ideas for how to put them together and use the same methods as here. I think there could be many interesting shapes similar but different to the "round" starburst.

  • Absolutely! Think outside the box and make the design your own. Thanks for your suggestions!

    xo, Meg

  • I love the opening! You are so convincing as a 1950's woman who can do it all! And what a killer project! That mirror is stunning!

  • great! where can u get this big round mirror?! x)

  • She said she got hers at a craft store. So, try Michael's, A.C. Moore, whatever craft store you have nearby.

  • this is useful

  • Wooow So creative ! i will make one , i will add some glitter to the paint.

  • Oooh, that's a great idea!

  • that mirror's awesome!!! nothing old but modern!!! love it

  • That's a really neat mirror. My house (parent's house) is what i call modern-ish victorian style so that's the late 1800's, i think.

  • awesome as always...can you show us some ways to decorate with old record covers....and some fab toilet decor design ideas always a hard room to decorate!!!!!

  • Yeah that would be a good idea, I thinking that the other day! :P

  • OH I love this! I wish I had more space to hang it in...

  • Wow that looks so cool! :o

  • ThreadBanger, Help me please! I'm moving to a new house and, since my room is in the basement, my father said I could decorate it however I wanted! I was wondering if you would do a coll project with chalkboard wall paint, cus thats what I want to do but I have no idea what to do, I don't just want a plain black wall. Please melp me ThreadBanger!

    -Japop-

  • There isn't much you need to do. Just mask off what you want to paint, and paint. You can buy chalkboard paint in a paint can or spray-can.

  • THREADBANGER! HELP!!!!! lol I just moved into my dads (From my moms) and their are little things like molding and closet doors that are wood and I hte the look. I could use it but I don't want to... HELP!!!!! If any!???
