A beautiful Tarana piece, but it is not in Rag Pilu, it sounds more like Rag Hansdwhani.

Great coordination from both artists, graceful moves, especially impressive, judging by the tender age of both girls. The clapping in unison at the end was unexpected ! Thanks for uploading.

i am a kathak dancer also, and i have never seen a young dance that well.

this dance obviously needed hundreds of hours of practice and the choreography was just seamless, and the music was a very good choice.

Maiya44, you certainly have a right to your own opinion but here's mine: though I know very little about Indian dance being of Indian heritage, I can say I am mesmerized by the beauty, elegance and high level of competence these dancers show. They are much, more beautiful than the over-acting,, often overweight Indian dancers/actresses whose dances look spastic, jumping around like monkeys. The fluidity shown in this video is amazing. I prefer this group over any Indian one - hands down.

You should look at Madhubala's dancing ,in "Mughal-e- Azam"

, since you are referring to Bollywood Kathak dancing.If there are any classical Birju Maharaj numbers on youtube, look at those as well.Then you will understand what I mean about the cheoreography.The Mayuri Troupe does a great job, but they need to take their style to another level. The Bharatanatyam piece from the Jean Renoir film "The River"- elegant execution, perfect poses,simplicity of performance, is an example

I have seen Madhubala dance in Mughal-e-Azam. Dancing is not just throwing hands and feet. With all due respect to the actress I should say thats what she does in those films. She lacked the most fundamental qualities; rhythm and grace. Her dancing was bit like a robo dancing without a rhythm. Everybody knows she couldnt dance. These Russian gilrls are just amazing. Sorry but Madhubala doesnt even come close to them. Madhuri Dixit is a real dancer.

WOW this dance was perfect! Both were so synchronized and the fact the the younger girl is so young makes it even more amazing! she has a natural grace and presence that parallels that of the elder. Both are amazing dancers! I've been learning kathak for 3 years and the little one is better than me!

First of all thanx for the comments,as for our spinning - we dont do it on heels, although can do so. We have our own technic of spinning, and it works :)

For saifpriya this is not a song but a 'taraana'(classical composition in hindustani classical)To which the dance is choreographed in Kathak. there are hundreds of different compositions in different raagas. You'll need to find out exactly which one this is

we learnt this dance from Harish Gangani,and he is from Jaipur gharana.But after performing with him,we changed the choreography a bit, so its jaipur-Mayuri gharana :D
