  • So many crying weeaboos. It's wonderful. Great theme from Faulconer, Smith, and Morgan.

  • what the fuck is this!!!?? this is not piccolo's theme!!!

  • ''Gohan... Im coming Gohan...'' Fucking epic... Thats the problem of anime in general man, is that so many good characteres get underpowered, and only one character do everything... Thats why everybody that saw Yuyu Hakusho love it, because all the characteres are strong, not only one.

  • @alexandrebocage you are obviously referring to the buu saga. Everyone knows that Gohan was going to become the next savior to the world but a mass amount of people bitched that Goku wasn't around and the story was changed because of it.

  • piccolo is the most strongest namekian out of the whole story.

  • @TheJojo85180 piccolo maybe strong as super buu cause in ssw2 he said fused with king piccolo may be enough or equal to super buu base

  • piccolo = the chuck norris of namek.

  • Piccolo is Batman.

  • Piccolo is the Samuel L. Jackson when it comes to DBZ.

  • cool tune

  • Piccolo can't have kids...

  • anyone saying this is not epic should just go die in shame..

  • all you whiners need to shutup this is a badass song for a badass character go bitch on a forum or something

  • people can comment whatever they damn well like

  • So gotta be honest. I always thought of Piccolo as the black guy of the Z fighters

  • @emporiagrown07 mr popo

  • lol

  • this isnt the original....search "Piccolo Theme" and watch the second video. thats the one. and its 100 times better

  • you know even when you say something REALLY DUMB, it always sounds VERY SMART when you say it while this theme plays lol

  • "Gohan.................."IM COMING GOHAN!"

  • will never understand how it is that most of goku's friends are people who have tried to kill him.

  • @CratersAndCream keep your friends close but your enemies closer

  • "Oh no vegeta, you doomed us all"

  • so this tune is Piccolo's theme, ive been trying to remember who it belonged to and now i know, thanks Kahn619 for uploading this

  • I'm sorry that some of you are angered by my words, but I have fellow anime lovers for friends who have also watched the series in both versions, and feel EXACTLY the way I do, and a couple are full-blooded Japanese! I'm sorry, but I can't watch the epic battle between Gohan and Cell in Japanese, and still get so sucked into the scene on the original VA's and BGM. Its just doesn't hook some poeple the way FUNimation dubbs and Bruce F's music does. That's my stand I'm sticking to it.

  • I'm gonna squash all this nonsense once and for all. I've watched the show in Japanese and in English--bottomline, I DON'T FEEL THE JAPANESE VOICE OVER AND MUSIC FIT THIS PARTICULAR SERIES. No I don't speak Japanese, NO I'M NOT A RACIST towards Japan, and I'm FULLY aware of where DBZ originated from. The bottomline is that the series IN MY OPINION is better suited with English dubbs and Bruce F's. music. You get that on-the-edge-of-your-seat feeling with all that, and you feel the characters.

  • @TheTOONhunter It's fucking dumb and unfortunate that some people just can't wrap their head around the concept that just because something originated in X country doesn't mean that it's going to be the best version. DBZ is a prime example of how changes like dubbing really do have the potential to better support the characters and the story. The same is true of Cowboy Bebop and Hellsing Ultimate, IMO (in Hellsing's case even the manga's author/artist agree the dub is better)

  • considering the dubs suck most the time compared to the original Japanese version of DBZ...

  • @edward18517 Thank you for giving a prime example of what I was saying in my original post. At least the others who argued against it gave legitimate reasons why they thought the Japanese voice acting sounded better. Oh, but that's right, it originated in Japan therefore it MUST be better that way. Fuckin' Japanophile...

  • well, I do think it is better in the Japanese version.

  • At the risk of startig an argument i think America did this show justice. the music and voice acting from Funimation just made me a perminant fan of DBZ i think the American Dub is just way better. with that being said iwatch alot of other anime in japs cause the english sometimes sucks

  • Piccolo Is one of my favorite Character in The anime his theme music got me started in The anime he is a Badass of The Z fighters.

  • best theme ever

  • If we saw the original Japanese music 1st I think a lot o'ppl wod find it pretty odd esp. back in those days when anime was slowly becoming more mainstream

  • screw the mainstream. All the general audience does is ruins anything it comes in contact with.

  • @ MegaJohnnybravo123 Yeah I agree with u.Also we got 2 keep in mind that when DBZ came out in the US ('98 I think it was) the show just ended two years ago in Japan.I have a feeling that pt. of the reason 4 the Japanese music was b/c they saw the series chronologically (ie.with the orig DB) so they kind of grew up with that music.Us, not really so they had the Bruce Faulconer music instead which kind o'nicely "updates" the show.

  • If they didnt spout every episode with non stop music IMO it would've made the show a bit better

  • And those who say japanese music and vocied acting is better, no its not.

We don't disrespect the japanese. Heck, they were the ones who gave us dragonball z and everything. It's just that, with american dub, the emotion is there, you get to know the characters more, the feel, being in their situation, the legendary feel,

funimation is awesome, along with bruce faulconer!

  • @MegaJohnnybravo123 Maybe to who speeks fluently Japanese it feels like FUNimation does.

But seriously, I do hate gokus voice un japanese, but I don't have the nearerst clue to what "sounds right" in Japanese.

  • you get to know the characters and feel for them way more in the Japanese version. In the American dub it's more about just fighting and crap, especially with how the music feels in the English stuff.

  • The voice acting is WAY better in the Japanese version. Most the voices in the American stuff sound way too generic and scratchy and the jokes are more corny than what they say in the Japanese version.

  • @edward18517 how can u know that the voices are better in japanese? All the characters have high voices as well. It harder to connect with the characters since u can't understand them

  • Not all of them have high voices and I grew up watching the Japanese stuff first. The voices are much more appropriate than a lot of the ones they gave them in the American dubs.

  • Man, dragonballz is ..I have no words for it, if it wasnt for bruce faulconer and the voice acting team, ... they wouldnt have made dragonball z this epic and beautiful. I really can't explain the awesomeness of the music here.

The tension, the feel of there being hope at the end of the darkness.

Also, this reminded me of the trunks saga, when trunks tells what the future holds and piccolo talks about how everyone has the right to know their destiny and make a difference!

  • Piccolo is my favorite character in the anime. Whenever he's around, shit gets serious. No fucking around.

  • Piccolo may not be the strongest of z-fighters, but he is definitely the most wise.

  • best anime ever dont care what anyone says !!!

  • I like both the original Japanese and Bruce Faulkner music. They're both equally good in their own ways. Do you guys dislike the original because it's not what you're used to, not what you grew up with? e_e

  • there are only 2 reasons i don't watch the Jap. versions. 1. they don't know how to say "ahhhh" instead they say "kkkkkkkkkkk" its so annoying. and 2. Bruce isn't there so neither am i. Bruce = epic

  • Listen to Frieza' theme and you feel very dark inside, then listen to Piccolo's theme and you feel enlightened. Just proves how good Bruce was.

  • I love the first picture, it goes perfectly with the soundtrack. This song represents a certain calmness, but confidence and strength at the same time.

Thus, the picture shows meditation and a strong glow.

  • I reckon Piccolo was at his best just after he fused with Kami.

He could have beaten Cell on his first battle (but he got away) and his fight against 17 was one of the best DBZ fights I've seen. Unlike most of the other fights, this one was VERY fast-paced.

  • @TheEFoy11 his fight with frieza's second form was pretty good, too

  • @TheEFoy11 agreed.also not forgetting the fight with frieza in his second form.

  • Comment removed

  • Never realized this was Piccolo's theme.

    "Good Piccolo".

  • 1.pause vid at beggining

2.open a new tab and open google

3.then type rainy mood in google and pick top one

    4.play the vid and enjoy

  • @MrDbzfanboy1 Rain makes everything better.

  • @LiAk0sW4y yep it sure does lol

  • @MrDbzfanboy1 Oh My GOD! best combo ever.. thank you sir

  • @MrSaang no probs man and also type in gohan dies theme and listen to tht wif rainy mood it sounds so dramatic

  • this i s a really good theme nice job wif vid check out mine

  • this theme rocks and dbz is the best anime ever i dont care what anyone says

  • Man was I ever disappointed when I Kai traded up these masterpieces for that piece of shit elevator music soundtrack. At least they kept the voices If I wanted to hear a bunch of Japanese school children squeal like pigs I'd go to BubbleCity bubble tea on two for one night.

  • @WolfDeon funimation fired bruce falconer along time ago, so weren't going to get his music in kai anyways, and besides the japanese ost is way better imo

  • This is the only Anime that I feel is originally American.

  • @TheBigManJohn Yeah, I use to think it was American when I was young but even now, the voice actors, the music, its one of those anime that is better in english

  • Z is crap in English compared to how it is in Japanese.

  • @TheBigManJohn because its the only anime that isnt utterly retarded

  • @TheBigManJohn >made by japan bro

  • @TheBigManJohn But it's not, luckily.

  • @TheBigManJohn Except it isn't in a least bit. And get used to it. If you can't appreciate foreign culture as it is, you don't deserve its products.

  • @CyclopsPL WTF is your problem, did I say anything bad? Cause the only thing I said it was that, THIS IS THE ONLY ANIME THAT I FEEL IS ORIGINALLY AMERICAN! Why? BECAUSE THEY ACTUALLY WORKED IT WELL IN THE US! Now u understand? Geez.

  • Piccolo was so much more amazing in DBZ if you watched DB.. you get a much better idea of what kind of character he is. You can miss how significant his change of heart is if you didn't see how utterly fucking evil and destructive he was as the final villain of DB.

  • I usually hate dubbed anime but the whole dragonball series is so much better in english and the english version of dbz has a way better soundtrack

  • why can't i find an extended version of this?

  • a very sad theme...

  • Piccolo is strong as himself, unlike all the saiyans and their powerups(ssj1,2,3) Piccolo really is a beast.

  • this brings back memory's of dbz...

  • Every time I hear this, I feel such a great, deep respect for Piccolo. Sure, he's not the strongest character in the series, but he's been along for the ride ever since the beginning. And if it weren't for Piccolo, I guarantee you there wouldn't be half as many Z Warriors alive as there are today.

  • @DestineyTot true, plus he was once of of the strongest, but saiyans became stereotype. after goten and trunks i pretty much had enough of the saiyans. everyone was nerfed so badly while they were all so powerfull once lol. still the most epic anime/manga ever!

  • @SylletBang

That's part of why I love DB.I like that they are allextremely tough and other than Roshi, and Tien compared to Yamcha, they are all fairly closely matched.

Then there's the fact that after Goku, Krillin is my favourite DBZ character so it's great to see him as a viable fighter and not nearly solely there for comedic relief like in DBZ.

  • You could meditate and kick some ass listening to this.

  • it is a yoshi!

  • THIS THEME IS AMAZING! I FEEL INCREDIBLE! YES! YES! YES!

  • @Khyper87 Thats what she said

  • Heil King Piccolo

  • But...

    I don't hear a piccolo anywhere.

    *Gets booed off the stage*

    ...

    Buu'd.

    ...

    I'll leave now, 'Kai?

    ...

    Alright, I'll Go-ku!

  • @Nemzal if you write on google the ep when piccolo and nail fuse, u will hear that

  • @Nemzal Boo you suck!

  • "What!?"

  • Piccolo is the reason why Gohan is as strong as he is in the whole series. If it wasn't for him, Garlic Junior, Cell, Bojack and a ton of others would've owned everybody else. He even went to hell in GT to get his old enemy out. If that's not the greatest or second-best character material, then I don't know what is!

  • @WujiKyuremu That's what makes Piccolo one of the valuable Z fighters that he is. I consider him a main character as well. I'm glad and agree like the guy with the top comment. They didn't brush him off. He's a badass in his own category. I say that because so is Vegeta.

  • he's like the head coach who trains the players

  • i know im gnna get yelled at for this but to me i can see piccolo going against goku and vegeta at the same time both at SSJ4 and still whoop both of their asses without even going full stregnth

  • This is one of a few animes that are better dubbed

  • I don't see what's wrong with voice acting in the Funimation dub. Vegeta and Piccolo sound just perfect, if you ask me, powerful and imposing. As for Goku, it's not as goofy as some would like but the voice actor does a good job when Goku's acting like a naive child, overall a good balance between heroic and goofy. If you want to say Goku sounds too super hero like, then complain about Kai, that's the dub that makes him sound like that.

  • piccolo always semmed the most bad ass and strongest one even though everybody wuld whoop his ass, R-E-S-P-E-C-T the wise green shaman dude xd

  • piccolo the noble 1

  • The Japanese voices don't do the characters justice at ALL! And Piccolo's Japanese theme song?? Talk about Corny and over-the-top ridiculous...give me Bruce Faulkner and FUNimation any day

  • @TheTOONhunter I couldn't agree more. Like I am at the absolutely limit of any conceivable, existing amount of agreement I could possibly agree on, agreed?

  • @TheTOONhunter Damn straight.

  • @TheTOONhunter My brother, my brother!

  • @TheTOONhunter shut up. if u wer a real DBZ fan ud understand that the japaneese music is great, and so are the voices.

  • @Mariorox10 Really? Grown men sounding like girls..Music that sounds like a train wreck between 4KIDS and Disney, and does NOT represent the character's personality AT ALL? Yeah man whatever...This fits Piccolo's personality because it brings out the features that make him up-Deep, strong, a loner, serious, and loyal. How does that corny crap from the original Japanese music do that?

Give me constructional response to my claim instead of some weak FANDOM-BASED opinion.

  • @TheTOONhunter if it wasnt for japan, DBZ wouldnt exist. japaneese cell had an amazing voice, frieza's theme was much more fitting, as was the music when krillin gets impaled. bruce falkner did good themes for the Cell arc when they stoped using the frieza music, but seasons 1 2 and 3 all had much better japaneese music. as for the voices, Goku is suposed to sound soft and gentle, frieza actualy sounds like a man in his first form, and king kai sounds like an old god. i still love the dub though

  • @TheTOONhunter

Wow some people REALLY don't like that you think the American voice acting and music is better than the Japanese version's.

Calling you racist just because that's your opinion? Some people really are butthurt.

I fucking LOVE the Japanese but I agree that the American voices and music suits the show/characters better. I personally can't STAND Goku's Japanese voice. It's so damn high pitched for an adult that it's really bloody annoying.

  • @TheTOONhunter Bitch be trollin

  • @TheTOONhunter Do you speak Japanese ?

  • @SonicTheFrenchHorn That's all you got to say? Pathetic...

  • @TheTOONhunter Racist

  • @0Ropy0 WRONG, asshole! I have MUCH respect for the Japanese and their culture. Hell they got it together better in than WE do sometimes. I just don't think the original music and VA's fit the characters or the story. Get your faqs straight before you call someone racist..fucking prick!

  • @TheTOONhunter "The Japanese voices don't do the characters justice at ALL" you just insulted Akira Toriyama, stupid magots like you will NEVER understand why Akira Toriyama personally choose the voice actors, just because you grew up with FUNimation dub doesn't mean it better. A person who watched and enjoyed both versions of Dragon Ball like me will NEVER say that stupid shit, if you are not a racist then stop posting stupid crap insulting the original version you worthless trash.

  • @0Ropy0 well said man. most americans think that dbz is american show they don't know anything about the original.

  • @0Ropy0 I keep asking for constructional rebuttal to my claim, and I get nothing but FANDOM BASED, RAGE DRIVEN opinions..I'm not racist and I;m entitled to my opinion. Its not my fault you're not smart enough to be a little more open minded to someone's opinon. The fact is, DBZ hooks audiences deeper with English Dubbs and Bruce F's. music. I know several Japanese friends of mine, also heavy anime fans, who agree 100% with me. Does that sound like a racist to you, SHIT BAG?

  • @0Ropy0 you racist ya lil japanese mother fucker

  • @TheTOONhunter keep in mind when the japanese version was made though.

  • It would have been awesome if Piccolo had been able to get as strong as Goku or Vegeta. I always liked him.

  • GT and Kai is a great failure really.. Nearly All cool characters died :( It should have been ended in dbz. thumbs up if you think the same too :P

  • @Arshadimba I've done a little research and the real faliure here is GT not only for how incredibly cliche is compared to Z, but that is not even made by the same person. Kai, on the other hand is, is a remake made to follow the manga storyline and lines, I'd give it a chance and see it as another story :)

  • holy shit... perfect music to meditate ._.

  • Another reason why Faulconer's ost destroys the Japanese ost.

  • @ISetYourFaceOnFire true but the japanese voices destroy the funimation ones

  • @zoroisabeast Hahahahahahaha. If you think voices that sound like screaming little girls is better than voices that actually sound masculine and tough and reflect their character more you must be out of your mind.....

  • @ISetYourFaceOnFire gokus funimation voice does not reflect his character gokus japanese voice does goku is not meant to sound like some superhero like he does in english he is meant to sound slightly goofy like he does in japanese and vegeta and piccolos english voices were terrible. also the acting of the japanese dub far surpases the english dubs. also you shouldnt insult the person you are arguing with in argument

  • @zoroisabeast If you think they sound terrible it's just opinion it isn't fact is it? I also don't understand why you think Vegeta's and Piccolo's voice are terrible? enlighten me. Or is it that you just prefer the screaming little girls?

  • @ISetYourFaceOnFire vegeta never talks hes always grunting and piccolo i am not going to say i just dont like it they piccolos japanese voice is the best he also voices portgas d. ace from one piece another epic character the only voice i idislike in japanese is chiaotzu but its even worse in english

  • @zoroisabeast You're entitled to your opinion.

  • Piccolo's the black guy of the Z fighters.

  • @ISetYourFaceOnFire AGREED!!! ;)

  • @SaiyanNinja99 I'm with you, man. The Japanese voices don't do the characters justice at all! And Piccolo's Japanese theme??? Talk Corny and over the top!

  • BEST SONG EVER!!!

  • The green beast beat the shit out of 63 fucking noobs

  • Best theme IMO:

    1. Gohan SSJ2 - Off Budokai 1

    2. Piccolo's theme

    3. Ginyu Force theme

    4. Vegeta's theme

  • Anyone else thinking about Piccolo's countless speeches of how Gohan was the first person to show him what it means to have a friend and then he flies of in a suicidal attack against Cell? Maybe it's gay to say, but I felt tears coming up under that particular scene (and some others during the Cell games) the first time I saw it, actually still kinda do. I really think it's a touching relationship Piccolo and Gohan has.

  • @baronvonbehr Just think about it. How awesome wouldn't it be to have a friend saying/thinking "FML. My friend needs my help, I'm gonna throw my life away, and do everything I can to help him/her out." That's devoting your life to someone. I think that's how true friendship should be, even though I haven't had a friend like that just yet. But hey I haven't spend a whole year out in the wilderness. And I certainly haven't spend the half of that year being pounded by a future friend :)

  • best anime ever, such an appropriate theme

  • this song is indeed soul moving.

  • DBZ is epic with any kind of music

  • This song makes me want to stop worrying about all my problems.

  • it took me 2 hours to learn this theme on the piano, and now i can play it perfectly ^_^

  • Comment removed

  • Piccolo is my favorite character. He had a huge impact on the anime even when the others had surpassed him you still felt like everyone respected him and didnt just brush him off like they did yamcha, tein(another one of my favs) krillen.

  • @cleftboywonder cause Piccolo is the brilliant fighter in the galaxy.

  • @cleftboywonder i lost respect for him, he was weak as shit compared to a ssj

  • @Steven1992ization Only problem is that he was stronger than vegeta when he fused with kami and got vegeta very upset and went on to make cell run away and have an epic match with android 17. he was weaker than super sayian 2 but stornger than a super sayian 1

  • @cleftboywonder actually, piccolo already fell FAR FAR behind after vegeta became Assj (Super Vegeta), piccolo couldnt beat imperfect cell and vegeta whooped semi-perfect cell's ass xD

  • @DragonCubeZ if you read the comment you would know that i said he was stronger than vegeta when vergeta was a super sayian not an acended sayain

  • @cleftboywonder I know, I said it didnt matter much because a day later vegeta was like 50 times stronger than him

  • THIS is the better theme..screw that Original Japanese theme. Its too corny sounding!

  • This is the best theme for any character in dbz history! LONG LIVE THE GREEN DUDE!

  • @ad21ization what about ssj3 theme

  • his theme remind me of scarface

  • The american version is awesome. Bruce Faulconer did a brilliant job. But the japanese version is just, Classic !!

  • @Bowmaj21 People wouldn't be upset about Kai not using Bruce Faulconer's music if they hadn't replaced it with mostly terrible music. Seriously the music in that show just destroyed it for me and thats why i stopped watching. I would much rather watch the original.

  • Sounds like Terminator.

  • Kick ass theme !

  • Whoops, clicked on this video accidentally. Thought for sure the description said "real theme of Piccolo," not generic ambience.

  • @OtakuD50 Apparently you havn't done your research. This is piccolo's theme. Made from Bruce Falconer

  • @MrNickjrich apparently you haven't been on the Internet long enough to detect sarcastic quips.

  • @OtakuD50 Sorry but you left absolutely no hint of sarcasm there. No reason to get all upset with me. People on the internet seriously need to chill the fuck out. Also not spending my life on the internet is a thing I actually take pride in (:

  • i thinks when piccolo merged with kami he should of kicked some ass, let piccolo be the hero for once

  • Picollo is without a doubt the greatest character in the whole series.

  • As the Earth stands on the brink of destruction one man is ready to make the ultimate sacrifice for his loved ones. His name is Piccolo, a proud Namekian warrior.

  • Those 63 Thumbs Down, Don't Know The Real SHIT. ...

  • Best piace of art.

  • IT SORT OF SOUNDS LIKE THE BEGINNING OF THE FUGEES READY OR NOT SONG...LOL...I ALWAYS KNEW PICCOLO WAS A GANGSTA!..SWAG!!

  • YOU CAN WIN YOU CAN DO THIS!

  • This song really makes me reflect upon my life. Just goes to show you what a great job Bruce Faulconer did with the music. It really immersed me into the series, along with the intense characters and action.

  • DOUBLE RAINBOWS ALL THE WAY!!!

  • It has like a cool 80's sound to it

  • this song is still stuck in my head after all these years. of all the DBZ songs, this is one of them that i remember the most. a true masterpiece

    "gohan............ i'm coming, gohan!"

    (flies off towards cell)

    "no wait!! PICOOLO!!!!!!!!!!"

  • this thememakes you think about the things you fucked up on in life

  • Piccolo is just as badass as Vegeta if not more so, a shame they didn't do much with him after Cell absorbed 17. He really was one of the best of the show. Probably the smartest Z fighter, and clam yet fierce at the same time. A true warrior.
