The people who created TSO still preform, even though there kinda old lol i went to a concert last november and they said all their names halfway thru the show :)
I can't wait. We are going to see them Wednesday in Memphis Tn. I love heavy metal, that is my music. And these guys just rock. Christmas got heavy. lol.
that's awesome! i was at their show in Dallas and was in total awe the entire time! it was incredible! i kinda wanted to release some of that energy into a mosh pit tho, but considering the crowd, i don't think that would go over too well
usually at the concerts I go to there's a guard rail a few feet in front of the stage and there's a couple of big guys standing between the crowd and the stage in case anyone tries to go up there (they also pull crowd sufers off the crowd so they don't get hurt falling) i would think with the huge-ness of the production they'd have it more secure, but that's really cool that they don't have to worry about that. besides, i'm sure there are guys ready to pounce from the sides if anything happens.
There is no one on the side, heh. This isn't a real rock concert, all assigned seating, no mosh pits or anything... they band runs around the venue... pretty neat.
The creator of TSO is Paul O'Neil.. and he says it's a rock opera. You don't mess with the man. See the guy who takes his jacket off at the end? Ya that's him.
Actually, they don't allow any cameras at all, and sometimes (depending on the area where it's at) they have people walking around looking for cameras.
Actually let me correct you. We were front row and there was no hiding our camera. We had a guard just four seats to the right from us. We asked him prior to the beginning of the show and in fact, cameras are allowed without the use of flash or video or external video lighting.
Now, policy may not allow it, but security did and there were what seemed to be about 3,000 other cameras out as well.
Official policy is no cameras or video recorders, both with flash on or off. This includes cameras, and depending on the venue you will be stopped. That's the official policy, whether the venue's security do anything is up in the air - a lot of times they are busy watching the concert themselves :P
Well I understand your point but we all know there will be no way to stop camera phones at those venues. Secondly until venue security enforce it, nothing else matters. The only security on premise in the audience is in fact venue security. When you ask security and they approve your camera use, really I think that answers any questions you would normally have.
@civileng67 "let me correct you" ??? comments are as the same of ones opinion so your "correction" should be needed, ( my OPINION is .."that was shitty of ya" ) especially they did say " depending on where its at" but we appreciate all Mr.Helpers though, so thanx
This is the policy listed for the TSO tour regarding cameras, and I've found this to be consistent my previous two shows.
Camera phones and disposable cameras are permitted. Audio recording and cameras with a detachable lens or lens of more than two inches are prohibited. *Camera policy is subject to change.
Oh ok, I see what you mean. I thought you were referring to the ability to video. If you've seen a TSO show you know it's not really a "crazy" show. Some songs are rock but overall it's a very adult and calm crowd. It's OVERALL a pretty mellow show. However there are security guards off to the side. To give you an idea of how mellow it is, all floor seats are actual seats. You are sitting in the front row, not standing (other than a couple songs).
Theres MOE... Whos he other Fiddle player?

It's not meant to be a Heavy rock/metal concert..it's just heavy classic stuff..
GregJewell123 2 years ago
It's called a rock opera for a reason.
obsideus 2 years ago
Actually, they're a rock orchestra. A rock opera, and a rock orchestra are two different things.

@TheRevJayKiller
I looked it up on Wikipedia, and it says nothing about TSO being a rock opera.
And ya, I know who Paul O'Neil is.

sorry man, but you really can't always trust wiki. it can be changed and altered.

Who said there was no security? Today video is able to be recorded on point and shoot digital still cameras which are allowed in the arena.

NICE how does one get those freekin seats..???
And does anyone know is TSΦ/security is easing up on camera filming...
never seen SOO many vids lateley.
I'll find out tommorrow I guess..
jimmywacked 3 years ago
You get those seats by being in the fan club. Fan Club members get to buy tickets first before they go on sale.
As for the vids, this is simply a result of technology. Today, point and shoots can deliver pretty good video, which is what all of these are on.
