  • TriStar Pictures... where ANYTHING can happen!

  • The Last Dragon,Supergirl, and of course Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo. Those happen to be from back in my junior high school days during 8th grade.

  • Epic.

  • Happy horse :P

  • Oh crap...Short Circuit's about to come on!

  • Illuminati

  • The 1984 logo was seen on the 1986 film ''Labyrinth'' (released by Henson Associates and Lucasfilm ,Inc.) and Labyrinth was released by Nelson Entertainment and Embassy Home Entertainment on VHS in 1987. Where the Boys Are '84 and The Natural was the first movies made by TriStar Pictures.

  • I could be wrong, but I think that's the ident at the beginning of Matilda: Special Edition DVD. I remember seeing a similar intro. Again, I could be wrong.

  • Its on "Bingo"

  • I like the animation but the music is annoying.

  • They continued using this up until the merger between Columbia and Tristar.

  • I know the intro of hook in 1991

  • How come "old -school" is always better?????

  • @Xclibur2001 Because people were more creative back then. Today they rely on technology too much.

  • @RetroJenny

and sadly, it's gonna remain like that.

  • I remember this from "The Bear".

  • It seems most Tri-Star movies from this period (1984-1993) have the Dave Grusin theme. But there are a few movies where this logo is silent (i.e.: "The Muppets Take Manhattan").

  • @kc86er A silent logo of this would give me the chills, that's for sure.

  • @Gilmoreboy2007 Give you the chills? How so?

  • @kc86er It would give me chills of excitement, I mean it in a good way. Just the way this logo sequence goes. Sorry

  • Beautiful, really gorgeous...

  • This was taken from the Hook DVD.

  • I saw this on Meatballs: Part II from 1984

  • I've always loved this logo. So heroic sounding and Pegasus is perfect for it!

  • A Segment from the Show "Robot Chicken" is about an Evil Little Girl who Hurts a Pegasus with a Whip after Destroying his Wings and Painting the Horse.

That Little Bitch must Understand that She's Destroying the Symbol of TriStar Pictures.

  • this reminds me of Labyrinth and Monster Squad

  • This Use Too Scare Me When I Was Little

  • Best Logo music of all time!

  • This is one of my favorite logos, the kind that gets you excited to see a movie from the company. They should make an updated version of this logo for today's movies.

  • PEGASUS!!!!!!!!!!

  • This always reminds of Total Recall

  • I first saw this logo with Hook :)

  • @dnasty312 I first saw this logo on The Muppets Take Manhattan.

  • @PreviewDude52797 where did you saw the muppets take manhatten on?

  • @sylviaballou361 I rented the DVD from Blockbuster in 2004 and 2006.

  • What a beautiful horse! This was an epic jump forward for Tristar!

  • That's the same Pegasus from the 1993 Tristar Logo.

  • Me acuerdo que veía venir al caballito y me daba miedo jajaja!!!

  • Saint-Seiya!

  • This is an awesome old-school logo.

  • This logo used to fascinate me when I was little.

  • I've always loved this logo! The music sounds so heroic! Throw Pegasus in the mix and you've got a perfect combination!

  • the wings on the pegasus, let me guess, rotoscoping!

  • Nothing Beats the Original TriStar Pictures Logo.

  • @MrAaronLadner You are so right, i remember this when Basic Instinst was made

  • @MrAaronLadner esp when in canada, it was paired with carolco films from 1985 to 1992 (terminator 2, total recall, perhaps rambo pt 2)

  • Thanks for posting this! Someone else had posted this logo, which was the most viewed one, and their account was suspended for some reason.

This is the BEST movie studio logo sequence of all time, hands down! Poignant, dramatic, uplifting and thrilling!

Other great logos are the one for United Artists (see "United Artists Tournant") and The Ladd Company.

  • i almost agree with you with the three of them.

i would take out the ladd company one and take in the universal pictures 75th anniversary intro and that would be my three bests.

the ladd company one seems to have been done by a child with an early 80´s personal computer. looks rudimentary and the music isnt by far as haunting as my other three favourites are.

if i had to choose a fourth one that would be the carolco one.
