  • LOL @ 2.55

    Very nearly got completely owned.

  • im interested in fishing for tarpon in kayaks, is it common to tip over when fighting a big fish?

  • @TexanFishin I would say no more common than tipping while fighting small fish. People don't tip because of the fish they tip because they make a mistake. JS

  • @Kayak4Fish thanks, and when carrying an extra rod and reel should i bungee cord and something like that to secure the rod to the kayak just incase i tip

  • why not keep them perfect size fish eat very good fish very taste if i go can i keep fish i catch?

  • @ATGaric We release all billfish. You can keep all the tuna or dorado you want but not the marlin

  • @Kayak4Fish Were can i go to get marlin to keep? hawaii seems to be only place to be able to keep

  • @ATGaric There is no law saying you can't keep them it is just common practice to Catch and release. The fish has more value alive than dead. I have seen plenty of bill fish killed in Mex, I just don't do it on my trips if we can help it.

  • Watching this on your sister's birthday and having a blast. That was a cool video!

  • Beautiful.. Thanks for releasing it.. For us, the catch and release rule is a bit difficult to apply..

    A Spearo.. :)

  • LOL

  • PS: next yr. mix em up!!!!

  • Matt u big wuss, should have pulled that fish in by yourself without Jims help! You guys crack me. I througly enjoyed your tornament this year even though the fishing sucked. I think everyone walked away with something even if it was just a bruise from your bad aim, hehe. c-u next year if i don't c u on the water first.

  • you are meantal

  • Unreal!

  • thats pretty awesome

do you get a boat to drop you off or do you paddle out there

  • As you can see at the beginning of the video the shore is pretty close in the background. This fish was hooked less than a mile from the beach. We do use support boats though to give our clients the most time fishing, and as safety support. All fish are hooked fought and landed from the kayaks and all Billfish and Roosterfish are released to fight again.

We pretty much only keep Tuna and Dorado and not many of those.

  • Great Video

  • The Old Man and the Sea has nothing on you!!

I would rather do this than scale Everest. Nice job!

  • did the bill actually hit him on the head? that was close, i always tie some orange yarn on the tip so I can see it coming.

  • tieing yarn on while holding it on a kayak would be real tough. The bill scuffed my forearm but thankfully missed my face. That was the 15th billfish I have pulled aboard a kayak and the second one to try and knock me in the water. Pretty exciting stuff.

  • just kidding about the yarn be carefull!

  • Very well done. Us Aussie's have been catching bill fish Black marlin ect in Kyak for a few years now!! Once again great effort!

  • That's insane!. I wonder how many miles that Marlin towed him?

  • MAtt's MArlin Dragged him about 5 miles. This is Billfish number 15 for us.
