  • What the hell? Half of the movies featuredon this wasn't even on the list.

  • How did they put Raging Bull over Gone With The Wind?? I guess some people really love watching grown men beat their wives.

  • how did they put singin in the rain over gone with the wind?!?!?!

  • What...no Chaplin or Keaton?

  • That image of all pacino at the end of Godfather 2 sticks with me....its an image of a man soo shattered and soo lonely..

  • I love that waynes world is in there. Underrated.

  • 2:57 the ending to The Godfather, Part II. In my opinion, best ending ever

  • Little Miss Sunshine is overrated

  • A good portion of these movies aren't on the actual list.

  • Raging Bull #4 very wise decision! Love that movie! Great list AFI, keep it up.

  • I didnt like the godfather 2 was at 32! It should have been at top 10! and goofellas in the 90s?! come on!

  • @motorysed completely agree, godfather 2 should be top 10 and goodfellas top 30 at least top 50

  • It start with Pirates of the Caribbean?! PLEASE!!

  • 2:15 what film is that?

  • Norma Rae

  • Was this song ever released as a recording? If not, it should've been :)

  • Fabulous composition of lyrics to images!!

Was "A Ticket To Dream" made just for this? Since it isn't anywhere?

  • i hated that for the new list, they put raging bull and singin' in the rain ahead of gone with the wind and lawrence of arabia.

  • lawrence of arabia is my favourite movie of all time, there are not too many movies i could accept getting ahead them, but Bull and Rain are two I can live with, although I am mad that GoodFellas is in the 90s.

  • Goodfellas should be in the top 20. I'm also pissed that Pulp Fiction is in the 90s too.

  • lawrence of arabia is my all-time favorite too! finally someone who agrees.

  • dose aney 1 know if animal hose made the list and if it did what it got

  • it didn't but it was on 100 years 100 laughs. you can look up the lists on wikipedia

  • My deep respects to Mr. Orson Welles.

  • Dont forget The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button and Wall-E

  • nice video

i like it especialy because it includes two of my favourite films

    the song is great aswell

  • Trisha Yearwood - "A Ticket To Dream" ...can't seem to find it anywhere though

  • Does anyone know the name of this song and the artist!

I saw this on TV a long time ago its a miracle I found it!!

  • Trisha Yearwood - "A Ticket To Dream" ...can't seem to find it anywhere though

  • I liked this better than the original (partly because Johnny Depp was the first person to appear and because Meryl Streep was in it)

  • that's exactly why I like this one more too. lol. Because they show Meryl Streep, and what's more in Sophie's Choice. She's one of the screen greats of all time and will be remembered forever the way Bette Davis and Katharine Hepburn are.

  • This song really exemplafies why we love movies.

  • i couldnt agree more- especially the final verse.

"though you may know the dream by heart you will come back again and again,

to that magic place where dreams come true,

the bluebirds fly and rainbows there,

and you never want the dream to end"

it's so true. my faovurite film, though ive seen it a thousand times, i never want it to end

  • What is the movie just before gone with the wind?

  • Oh got it lawrence of arabia.

  • just beautiful

    trully 100 excellent films

  • The new list sucked, but this was kind of cool. It would have been cooler if the list hadn't been so plumb awful.

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU !!!!! I've tried and tried to get this myself. I'm so happy!

  • Great! It must have taken ages to put this together.

  • Splendid tribute to great stars....

    Good job, very professionnal..

    5* for the three tributes.

    Thank again,

    See you soon,

  • 5*!

  • i really like the fact they included more modern films in this one, however i do prefer the original. glad to see pacino and de niro in this one too. thanx for uploading!

  • Good montage but not as good as the original (1998) opening montage. Particularly the last part...too many "b-level" stars.

  • Thanks so much for uploading all of these montages - it's really appreciated!

  • This is one of my favorite opening montages set to a song that I really like. I love movies...They do provide a great escape. I've been having a lot of issues at work and at home lately, but if I watch a movie of any sort, the burden is lifted and I can escape from the outside world for anywhere from 90 minutes to 3 hours.

I love this song and this montage, and I'm looking forward to the next AFI special ("10 Top 10") which will be debuting on Tuesday, June 17th. I'll definitely be watching it.

  • So will I. I just wish they'd release these on DVD, especially the 100 songs special.

  • awesome video. it would be so cool if you could post the actual 100 years 100 movies special.

  • Unbelievably sappy song, though.

  • yeah, it is a bit sappy, but it always lifts my mood and gets me excited about the movies.
