lawrence of arabia is my favourite movie of all time, there are not too many movies i could accept getting ahead them, but Bull and Rain are two I can live with, although I am mad that GoodFellas is in the 90s.
that's exactly why I like this one more too. lol. Because they show Meryl Streep, and what's more in Sophie's Choice. She's one of the screen greats of all time and will be remembered forever the way Bette Davis and Katharine Hepburn are.
i really like the fact they included more modern films in this one, however i do prefer the original. glad to see pacino and de niro in this one too. thanx for uploading!
This is one of my favorite opening montages set to a song that I really like. I love movies...They do provide a great escape. I've been having a lot of issues at work and at home lately, but if I watch a movie of any sort, the burden is lifted and I can escape from the outside world for anywhere from 90 minutes to 3 hours.
I love this song and this montage, and I'm looking forward to the next AFI special ("10 Top 10") which will be debuting on Tuesday, June 17th. I'll definitely be watching it.
1. Pirates of the Caribbean 2. Close Encounters of the Third Kind 3. Casablanca 4. Star Wars 5. Little Miss Sunshine 6. Psycho 7. E.T. 8. Pretty Woman 9. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs 10. The Sound of Music 11. Jaws 12. The Godfather 13. Tootsie 14. The Departed 15. Wayne's World
16. Swing Time 17. Vertigo 18. Dr. Strangelove 19. Funny Girl 20. Titanic 21. Apocalypse Now 22. National Velvet? 23. Rocky 24. Sunset Blvd. 25. Annie Hall 26. Spider-Man 27. An Officer And A Gentleman 28. Double Indemnity 29. Rebel Without a Cause 30. Scarface
31. Footlight Parade 32. Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid 33. Singin' in the Rain 34. The Shawshank Redemption 35. Saturday Night Fever 36. Midnight Cowboy 37. The Right Stuff 38. Forrest Gump 39. North By Northwest 40. Moulin Rouge 41. Dreamgirls 42. Norma Rae 43. High Noon 44. Taxi Driver 45. Duck Soup 46. The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

Goodfellas should be in the top 20. I'm also pissed that Pulp Fiction is in the 90s too.

I liked this better than the original (partly because Johnny Depp was the first person to appear and because Meryl Streep was in it)

i couldnt agree more- especially the final verse.
"though you may know the dream by heart you will come back again and again,
to that magic place where dreams come true,
the bluebirds fly and rainbows there,
and you never want the dream to end"
it's so true. my faovurite film, though ive seen it a thousand times, i never want it to end

Good montage but not as good as the original (1998) opening montage. Particularly the last part...too many "b-level" stars.
