Such a beautiful song. I lost my sister last year in October, the night I flew off to London to continue my education. I was not there during her last moments of life and neither was I there for her funeral. I have never forgiven myself. My dog of almost ten years died yesterday morning. I can't help but think about him while listening to this song. I miss him so much. Christmas really won't be the same without him. I'm sorry. I don't know your story but I know what its like not to see someone you love; especially a child. I lost my son 3 years ago; died 2 hours after he was born. Breaks my heart every day but I know he is heaven and waiting for me. Just remember love conquers all and so prayer goes a long way. Talk to God and keep praying; one day I'm sure you'll see your son again. Wish you well and sorry you are hurting.

I'm 20 now and I didn't see my mom for 5 years =( I LOVE her to death and I know she loved me enough to let me go with my dad. Although I'm living with my step mom (She's nice) I will never like her as much as I LOVE my real mama!! My fathers side is way richer than my mom's (they're divorced) so I got to go with my dad to get good education! I MISS her so much! Believe me your son MISSES you to death too!

@davebry01 My son has a daughter and son that he hasn't seen for 6 yrs now. His ex keeps them away. Hopefully, somdeday, they will be back in our lives. It's unbelievable the empty space that it creates in your heart when they are not there to fill it. . I cry at the thought of them growing up without him or the rest of their family. I know that God will lead us back together.

If you think otherwise then that's your choice. I was just touched because it would be nice if I and many other people could have a father who was like that. And even if he wasn't amazing, looks to me that he's realised what he'd done wrong and if he's man enough to realise, then he should get to see her.

In the whole wide musical sung world, I think, this is probably the most beautiful song ever written and sung accoustically by a contemporary artist.
it is so true that silence is often the burden in people's lives because people are accustomed to entertain each other with sound... yet when sounds are this enjoyably soft to the senses...this can only be enjoyable and memorable.
