  • I have loved this song for 43 years, Still do. Thank you.

  • It makes me cry, remembering my own love story (in my youth).

  • i love this song... it is one of a kind... it hypnotizes me.

  • oh.... my first love!

  • I don't know how and why, but after I heard this song back in the early 70s, it has stuck with me. When music availability thru downloading became easy, this was one of the first songs I searched. I have been listening to it very frequently now, but that melody and lyrics still brings, as autumnmyth described, melancholy, poignancy, and haunting feeling.

  • Oskar Werner is amazing! I wish I could have been alive to have seen him!

  • A great piece of music that I had forgotten, nice to hear it again.

  • Love it!

  • I have been looking for the name of this movie for years! Just found it and immediately ordered the DVD! Thanks for posting!

  • Who knows if it's real or just something we're both dreaming of ...

  • @lyhwa what seems like an interlude now... could be the beginning of love.

  • How I miss it!

  • Have loved this film and music for 40 years and it remains in my heart as fresh as when I first saw it at 16 in 1968.

  • i was just a kid when I first heard this (about 7 or 8 yrs).. but it is so melodic and powerful that it has never been forgotten. Now that I am older and finally have experienced heart aches through my years, this song is more poignant to me than ever. Sometimes there is a love that is not to be...only time can tell... so enjoy the one you love always.

  • Like some folks here I've never really seen this movie, except YEARS/DECADES when I was younger, I remember seeing a small clip of it on TV... and the feeling of it has stayed with me all this time. And yes, this song will last forever and ever. Let's enjoy it while we can.

  • Even this send shivers after all these years. A timeless recording

  • Why can't I find this movie to download??? I have been wanting for so long to download this movie. :(

  • @samilinno I have never seen it since it was first released. The only thing I remember was the wonderful theme, so the picture itself couldn't have impressed me much. I do have the soundtrack album though

  • Love it! Thanks for uploading.

  • Great Classic Song!

  • very heart warming; beautiful!!!

  • haunting and beautiful-sung by the GREAT Timi Yuro!-the greatest ever white female soul singer-especially singing live in concert-yet almost totally unknown-is she in any Hall Of Fame I wonder?

  • @nancyfloressantos A 1968 movie

  • A lovely and gifted lady. The beauty of her soul is apparent in her voice.

  • many thanks for sharing!

  • The hypnotic music and lyrics of this song gently speak of the powerful beauty of beginning romantic love, and the importance of staying in the present moment. It's poignancy lies in the warning of the capriciousness of life and the ephemeral moments that must be treasured. It is one of the most beautiful songs ever written and remains etched in my heart forever.

  • @quehierquedemainRD i could not put it better! A truly gorgeous track that deserves to be better known. Timi's finest cut.

  • Darling, this is another of my favourite songs. Hope you like it!!

  • I was so enthralled by this song and Oskar Werner that I bought the LP 40 years ago. I still have it. People looking for it should look for it on Timi Yuro tapes and CDs. It's got to be there somewhere.

  • This is one of my fav movies of all time! I would luv to have it on DVD or even VHS!!! Any suggestions, anyone? This song is so pretty.

  • There are new records on Amazon (not the instrumental, but the soundtrack. Find any version of it you like and tape it on a decent tape recorder, then have a sound business put it on a CD. From there, you could download it to your Ipod. Good luck.

  • Thanks for sharing the special piece of music

  • 細時已覺得呢首歌的主唱者,把聲好似泰迪羅賓。

  • @chinwoman Sorry you need your ears checked! How could a legend's voice sounds like "Teddy Robin"?

  • I have been searching for this song for 35 years. would anyone be kind to tell me where I can download or purchase this song. It has invaluable sentimental feeling to me

  • I loved thia movie. Sat thru it twice. Bought the soundtrack at the time. Like famousprincesses, I would love to see this again. The London Sym Orch was fabulous. Oh, to be 22 again.

Nobody knows when our love will end ... so till then sweet friend ... "

    Brilliantly expressed!

Thanking you again for this lovely share - hopefully this timeless tune will forever stay. Popped back for a delivery of another well-deserving star.

    Autumn

  • Diamanda Galas performs a very worthy cover of this song on her 'Guilty Guilty Guilty' live album. Worth checking out if you haven't heard of it/her.

and still remenber this nice song.

  • Indeed ... time is like a dream ...

Same feeling I had when I posted here (a year ago); which I never get tired of.

Had been coming back for the Nth time. So love this melancholic tune, a real timeless melody ... lyrics so sombre, so poignant, so haunting. Timeless!

Always a pleasure to glide back and reminisce the beautiful memories of 'caged' feelings (holding fast to those dreams .. that tastes and sparkles like wine ..."). Such were ... the interlude in my life. Peace from Autumn

  • Thank uou ever so much for this clip. You cannot imagine how much I was looking for this song. It took me back to 41 years ago when I as 1a 5 year old gal fell in love for the first time.

  • A beautiful woman played this for me; I had never heard it before today.

  • tku for posting this song. i have been looking for it for a while. great song, great singer...

  • there is an incredibly poignant scene in this movie

Oscar Werner is married. He takes his girl friend to a hotel. When they get to the room he tells the woman he has to go downstairs and call home. She looks mortified after he leaves.

A minute later the phone rings in the room. She answers it and hears Oscar's voice.

"I am calling home," he says to her.

  • Oh God.. So nice....

I haven't seen the movie but i really love the song..And now with this scene i just wanna cry...! With you it feels like i am home...

  • This song is really awesome...i thought at first that the singer is a man the firtst I heard it first over the radio then my brother told me that it is sung by Timi Yuro...thanks for posting res

  • Thank you for posting this. I heard this song again on the radio a few days ago and can't stop humming it. I was hoping it would be here. I saw the movie when it came out 40 years ago and while it was heartbreaking and a tough subject, I absolutely adored it. I thought Oskar Werner was gorgeous and someone who died way before their time. Thank you again.

  • Like a beautiful poem, like a very sad love song. I saw the movie ages ago.

Although, I had never never agreed with the way they were. It made me realizing that :

    Something it maybe happen,

    something cannot let it happened.

But, it is just happened in life always !

And it is also out of our expected.

All in all, it is a song of truly heartbreaking !

  • LOVED this movie. Where can I get a copy?

  • I once ordered a copy from China a few years ago. Took me forever to find it.

  • There are so much to say about this movie and of course Timi Yuro whom passed away in recent years. I must have seen this movie more than three times when it came out in the 60s. It was about a young journalist fell in love with a married man, a bittersweet love story of sort. When I first listened to the title song in the movie house I thought it was sung by a man! Now after three decades I got to know Timi Yuro on a more personal level and she was the only white girl that sung with soul!

  • i was a 4 year old girl when i saw how much my dad was trying to find this movie, he was always singing this song and i as a lil girl was doing that every day. since ever he hasn't found the movie yet, i don't know if the movie is as great as the song is!

  • Thank you so much for sharing this -- always loved the score from this movie and especially the wonderful Timi Yuro.

  • I've been looking for this movie in DVD for a long time. Thank you very much for sharing this loving song.

  • Thank you so much for this post. This is my first comment made on YouTube, but I am so pleased and so grateful to hear this song again after forty years. I was deeply touched by the melody and lyrics when I saw Interlude back in '68.

  • Such a beautiful voice, For just a moment, I could close my eyes, and drift away to a perfect place...Thank you for posting.

  • Wonnnderful!

  • I've been looking for that song for a very long time. at last...Thank you.

  • Oskar Werner & Barbara Ferris.

I appreciated the music, much more than the movie itself

-- a "happily" married man having an "Interlude"!

  • A terrific song from a crappy film. Such a shame. Had the film been a hit perhaps the song would have been as well

    Mike UK

  • I love this soundtrack album and especially this song. I used to listen to it before i went to sleep. Still have the album and have a video of the movie. Unfortunately it's badly cut and interrupted by late night car commercials. I too signed the petition to get this out on dvd.

  • How can I also sign a petition to get Interlude out on DVD and does anyone know if a soundtrack exists?

  • Go to Wikipedia. there is a fansight with great pictures and an opportunity to sigh the petition.

  • Yes i own it since 1968, you can buy it at COLGEMS RECORDS....Just google Interlude soundtrack and Colgems records will come up...my album is up in my closet with the rest of my albums ! good luck !

  • I have to join folks here to say BIG thankyou to the kind person who uploaded this song for us to enjoy.

    Many many thanks :o)

  • Thank you for uploading this song... One of my favorite. I couldn't find this in Timi Yuro's records. Love the song... love the voice!!!

  • Sublime classic "Interlude" is one of the most hauntingly gorgeous songs ever from a film...should have won a Oscar and been a huge success but poor promotion & no airplay caused this to be the last studio work released in the sixties from this legendary singer and the lp "Something Bad On My Mind" from which this classic is from needs to be released on cd...Bravo Timi & you are loved and missed!!!

  • great

  • Wow! I thought I was the only one who knew this film, this song, this singer!

I saw it in my first week of work, August 68, and have never forgotten it nor the music. I too remember the scene where he says he has to phone home.

Her singing always reminded me of Gene Pitney somehow, similar phrasing and timimg.

Very sad she never achieved her rightful place, yet was always highly respected - Mike's comments are spot on. I shall just have to get the movie now! Thanks for posting it here.

  • She wanted this to be the "A" side, but Liberty said no. They just didn't know what they were talking about

    Mike Rossiter UK

  • Absolutely one of the most mesmerizing songs, ever!

  • What a wonderful, strange haunting voice she has on this one. Sends me in to a dream.

  • The perfect mourning after pill. Love it.

  • Very nice song . Thanks.

  • I have the vinyl but it's all scratched up.

I will never forget this extraordinary movie. Especially remember the scene when Oskar is in the hotel with his girl friend. He says, "I must go downstairs and call home".

In a minute the phone rings in the hotel room where his girl friend is.

    He said,"I am calling home."

  • so touching!!!

  • I saw this movie twice when I was in public school in England as a high schooler. I've never forgotten the romantic movie and the beautiful song. It took 39 years of searching before I found a DVD of the movie on eBay. I never knew who sang the song until I saw Timi Yuro's name on YouTube, and that's two months ago. Now I treasure the memories of 40 years ago. I hope the online petition would move Hollywood or someone to issue the film on DVD again. It's my all-time romantic movie.

  • I tell you this, Res007d9, I've been "out and off" the past week ... decided to play back this timeless tune again and again. And you know what? Felt 100% better. I'm alive again! Need not say anything more ... please refer to my previous comments. Thanks and Godspeed, Autumn Myth.

  • Wow, this is one of the best songs of all time. Thanks. European singers sing much more meaningful and beautiful songs.

  • The singer is American.

  • Yea, I know she's from Chicago, but she's also Italian . Thanks for clarifying that for the fans .

  • Just listened to this for the umpteenth time. I never get tired of it. Wonderful singer and a wonderful song that should have been given airplay.

    Mike Rossiter UK

  • I am just speachless to express my feeling as to how beautiful this piece of music is. unbeleivable. I don't think, it is possible to get any more romantic than this. beautiful and eternally unbeleivable. some day when I die, I want this music to be the very last thing that I hear, before I go.

    awsome

  • Hauntingly beautiful, absolutely timeless! I am satiated, adrift, afloat. This classic piece always direct me back to the best stage in my life - the time when the heart was young, the mind was fragile and the life was genuinely authentic ... and precious. Given the chance to choose, I would slide back on those days ... forever. The days when "time was like a dream ...". I love it, I live it, I breathe it. Ciao, Autumn Myth

  • unbeleivable romantic and beautiful

  • Love it, love it!!!! So hauntingly beautiful. Each and every line stirs the emotion and puts the spirits high up. I feel frozen with the time ... the time when the heart was young and the mind was fragile. Been listening to this endearing music for so many times ... which directs me back to those precious days of youth and innocence. Thanks for sharing. Blessings and Peace, Autumn Myth.

  • Thanks so much for posting this. I still have my LP from 1967 but it's not very clear anymore. My son gave me a video last year - not the best quality but I do love it. This movie made a huge impression on me and I hope it comes out on DVD. Maybe it can be found in Germany?

  • i am gratefuk for uploading this song. actually i do have a german language version of this song, and I have a copy of the original cinema tape of Interlude. The quality however is not very good, but it is an eternal memory.

  • Thanks so much for this posting! So many people are looking for a decent copy of Interlude! Does anyone know of a source?

  • One of the greatest theme songs in the film world. One of my favorite films as well.Glad I found it!

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. I've been singing this song for almost 40 years, wondering if I'd ever hear it again. You just made my day! Did you know there's an on-line petition to have this film released on DVD? It also just opened on the screen again in NYC. Wonderfully schmaltzy and beloved by Werner fans.

  • Great news! I will be joining the petition too. I find that this film is available from a Canadian web site however I assume it is not in real DVD quality. I will wait !

  • Mais uma vez a minha alma engrandeçe-se perante tal BELEZA NA VOZ E NA MÚSICA!!

    Jorge Abreu / Funchal Madeira

  • A true masterpiece from the lost lp "Something Bad On My Mind" which is Timi Yuro's finest work yet never on cd...this is a sad loss for all who enjoy a legend in peak form and none was finer than Timi! Bravo Timi and you are missed...

  • This should have been the A side. Wonderful. What else can I say?

    Mike Rossiter uk

  • one of my earliest best movies i ever saw.

  • Truely thanks for sharing this beautiful song with us.

I saw that movie ages ago. Although I'd never agree the way they were, it made me understand that something "MAY" and "CANNOT" !!!!!

  • Thankyou so much to post this song, where can I down load this song. This is back when I was at school. I have been hunting for this song

  • As noted above, you can get the song (there are two versions in the CD) from Timi Yuro's The Voice That Got Away. Check Amazon's web site.

  • I would like to echo the comments of tonyauck, thank you for bringing back some lost but wonderful memories. A..If i find the movie i will get back to u

  • Wonderful song. Thank you for sharing.

  • There is a petition online to issue this film on dvd.

res, thank you for posting this. Do you have the full soundtrack? I see that the cover is correct so I'm hoping ...

    Please let me know.

  • Yes, I have the album, bought from eBay long ago. However the song is from Yumi Yuro's CD: The Voice That Got Away. Check Amazon.

  • I have the cd on the way from Amazon. I was wondering about the full soundtrack and whether there is any way of getting it. My LP is bald and scratchy and my player is out of commission as well.

  • Hiya,

I saw the movie,The only decent bit of music was the title theme.

I was lucky, and was with Timi when she recorded it all those years ago. She wanted it to go out as the top side of the single, but was refused by the blokes at Liberty.

If she had gone to Motown or Atlantic, it wasn't worth it financially. Perhaps if she had gone, at least she ould have got noticed, unlike at Liberty, who didn't know at to do with her. They were only interested in pop stuff...Mike Rossiter UK

  • Thanks for sharing this precious memory. No matter if it made fame or not, it is always a treasury to keep.

  • It should be Timi Yuro, sorry.

  • That would be great. I look forward to it. I hope more people will get to like this great song.

  • Thank you so much. This is one of my favorite songs back to the old days. It lost for some time but recalls a lot of my memories.

  • Thank you very much for your comment. I am still searching hard for a possible copy of the movie.

  • I have also tried to get a copy. I am in the UK and it isn't available anywhere. I believe is can bee bought in the States, but the dvd won't play here Mike Rossiter

  • I just noticed it on sale on eBay - the seller is asking about $50 for the vinyl soundtrack. Good luck!

  • I should clarify that what is currently for sale on eBay is the soundtrack LP, not the film.
