If the P95 is much the same price as the casio then probably go for the yamaha, yamaha and Roland make fab pianos but, always try and play a piano or keyboard before you buy it because what feels good to you may not feel good to someone else
Thank you sooo much for doing this. I have been shopping and this was very helpful.
I hear some clicking as you are playing -- is that the keys being depressed, your nails on the keys, microphone issues... ? It sounds like plastic hitting something but I can't replicate it playing one myself. But I do not play as well as you so if I ever do I wonder if it will make the noise.
I think it is more an edge of my finger nail issue (especially my thumb which I always use on its side) that my video camera microphone seems to highlight! The keyboard doesn't seem to click but, it does thump however, most all digitals thump as far as I know? Heck, my top of the range (at the time) Yamaha CLP170 used to drive my ex round the twist when I played it late at night silently with headphones on because of the thumping sound!
Yamaha make superb stage pianos, Roland too, Casio give better bang for the buck but, its best to go and try the keyboards out to see which one you like the best. Trust me you'll know which one is for you as soon as you play them
No mine doesn't have a clunking sound that gets louder??
I would be taking that back to the retailer.
However digitals are not silent...the thumping sound of my Yamaha CLP170 used to drive the Ex wife nutz when I played late at night with my headphones on.
Must admit though that I play this piano at home with headphones on mostly and through my P.A. it sounds great
Do you find the clunking on the higher keys annoying? I just bought mine yesterday (on sale, only 499) and there is this really bad clunking. And when I turn the volume up to block it out, it just gets LOUDER! does yours do this?
hi lilpup27 ! i think i know what you mean, and let me tell you that there is no problem with your keyboard. There is a clunking sound that imitates the hammer of a real piano. it gets louder when you turn up the volume and it can be annoying. theres nothing you can do i think, except get use to it, like me.
Hi, I'm about to buy one but I would like to know how well does the brass and sax sound on this keyboard. You mind if you put a sample video with this sounds, please.
TO ANYONE WHO IS INTERESTED IN THIS PIANO,PLEASE,DEMO THROUGH HEADPHONES OR AN EXTERNAL AMPLIFIER, AS THE ONBOARD SPEAKER SYSTEM DOES MANY OF THESE SOUNDS NO JUSTICE, NAMELY THE ACCOUSTIC PAINOS! THE LATER MENTIONED ARE FAR RICHER THAN THE INTERAL SPEAKERS ACTUALLY CONVEY.I owned the PX-310 (also a nice instrument),& this, its successor, makes a welcome replacement, though some of the voices were retained.BTW, thanx, SeasideLee.Your demo vids were actually the catalyst for my decision to get one
Would you say this is good enough for giging? This keyboard is more than I was originaly wanting to spend (500$), but I think it's perfect for me, and I don't want to have to upgrage later, so I want something that I won't "out-grow" so to speak so quickly.
I've been playing piano for 6 and 1/2 years, and am probobaly going to take music composition in collage. I have an acoustic piano, but want something with a lot of sounds to experiment on, good feel, and transportability.
So, would this be a good buy for me @ 700$ and will it last my musicail needs for a long time? I'm playing in a worship band for my church (acoustic guitar, and keys) and am trying to start another band.
I think the main factor in my buy is good grand piano feel with a few good built in sounds, because I can always buy a soft synth to upgrade the sound later
Sorry its the best I can do. That sounds rather cool what you do. I did layer some sounds in video 2 but, would love to see a demo video showing what you can do. I mainly play just the piano voice so I could do with some great ideas from you or anyone else that explores the possibilites much further than I can.
This is a good piano, but this sound demo is no good.
The piano sound is very good and in order to get some variaion I usally layer it with either sound #59 (warm pad) or "60's electric piano". It's essential to adjust the layer balance and use correct amount of chorus. I have built a pedal with half-pedal effect which proves to be valuable to control the pad properly.
the quiet strings and the modern piano, put me to sleep! :O*yawn*

Anybody knows if MIDI PG## RX has been fixed on PX-320? It was major design blunder on PX-200....

I love my PX-320. In my opinion it's the best digital piano for the money right now... and I shipped a LOT of DPs before I chose the PX-320.
