  • It seems this style of Bajiquan has combined Piguaquan as well. It's quite popular to learn both Bajiquan and Piguaquan together, as Bajiquan is very strong at close range and Piguaquan is very strong at long range.

  • This reminds me of kung fu panda. In a good way. Is the panda's style based off of Baji Quan?

  • Hakkyoku Ken!

  • Hi if you look for

  • I have been practicing kung fu for many years, and from now on when I try to picture it in my mind, this is inevitably what will play in my head. lol I've heard a lot about Baji, but this is the first time I've actually seen it. Whats the masters name? The name of the form?

  • @TheWushudreamer Hi

    I have found this information

    Baji quan, Shanxi style

im think this is the dajia bajiquan

    master zhang long

  • what is the name of this form?

  • Name of the song, please!!!!!

  • @TheManiacalSatanist6 周杰倫的霍元甲 :)

  • most feared sunni islamic martial arts

  • @Tungdor : where can i find this andy lianto? btw, thanks for the info

  • Baji really is so cool, no matter what style it seems. This is really different from our Baji though (Han), a little less explosive and a little more flowery (I don't mean this in an offensive way, it's just different.)

  • Beautiful video!

  • haha this is the first time in my martial arts career that after seeing this style once i want to learn it

  • who is this master and where does he teach?

  • awesome. i really wanna learn baji quan. any info for Indonesia?

big respect to late GM Liu Yun Qiao

  • Comment removed

  • @iMisogynist i disagreed, actually there is some baji in indonesia and from Li Style.

  • @Tungdor oh thats cool. never knew that. do they have shuai jiao in indonesia?

  • @iMisogynist About shuai jiao i dont really know, but there's a lot of TCMA in indonesia, such as bajiquan GM Li shu wen and Wu style, Wing chun Ip man Style, Hunggar, Ngo Cho Kun, Taichi Chuan Chen Style. Some of them are not open to public.

  • @Tungdor THAT'S REALLY NICE. ngo cho kun, chen taich, etc etci are really awesome. last time ive been to indonesia i only see sport wushu though. why don't open it to the public? how would i find these styles if i went to indonesia?

  • @iMisogynist For Taichi Chen Style you can contact Sifu Batik Guy a.k.a Chou Kin Bu>

For Baji Quan Li Shu Wen Style you can contact Sifu Andy Lianto.

For Ngo Cho Kun in indonesia are open to public, search it in google sifu Lo Ban Teng.

  • @Tungdor search batik guy and andy lainto at facebook

  • @briannastalim you can contact andy lianto, he is from li shu wen style.

  • Very beautiful ! This always gets me exited to train baji even though I use different style ... lol !

  • nan quan mamais the name of the band hat singsthe song and im learning this set i love this set and this video is best ive seen

  • I don't know all the answers to what is the best martial arts etc. etc. But this level of quan always provokes my deepest love and respect.

  • Damn it, Baji! Why do you have to be so awesome? The fact that there are no schools were I live is frustrating as hell.

  • @LackofEthics same here. just learn as much as you can from the videos, get in contact with baji schools over the country and express your interest in going, one day - pay a visit. Lucky for me, I have knowledge in previous martial arts... I'm able to learn them alright.

  • @MASoulChild85 @MASoulChild85 Thanks for the reply! I also have experience with martial arts, but the only kung fu I know is hung ga (which I'd say has limited internal qualities). That might impede my ability to learn from videos but I'll try anyway. I really like your idea of emailing a school, it never occured to me. If I'm lucky, there's a school in the next province over but more likely I'd have to go to the coast on the other side of the country.

  • I'd like to know what's the title of the music =)

  • @Cortylius Fearless, by Jay Chou

  • great video.... is there any suggestion how to remember the move?

  • @soerism Practise?

  • whats the tune called?

  • @deanpool

Huo Yuan Jia - Zhou Jie Lun/Jay Chou

    霍元甲 - 周杰论

  • Guys, pls take ur quarrel elsewhere.

My video is baji appreciation purpose only.

If there's a fight u want, pls bring it out of my video thread. Appreciate ur help. Any further nonsense which promotes violent exchange of words shall be reported.

  • @eyesonme78 wow this is incredible. Please excuse this zealous rant I'm about to go on, but... I've always been most attracted to Chinese Kung Fu. I studied Tsoi Li Ho Fut Hung for a few years which is particularly brutal and is strictly combative (non sport) art meant to eliminate the threat as swiftly as possible. I enjoyed it very much, but there is something so aesthetically pleasing about BajiQuan. I really understand why it is called an art when I see this, in a visceral way, that is.

  • Comment removed

  • @tranglomango Maybe because those who reach that stage of master are not retard like you ?

  • shame you cant hear the practitioner's movement and footstomps :(

  • I cant choose between this style or tai chi. Whats even the difference? xI

  • @FunKCX wu-tan schools of the Liu Yun-Qiao lineage often teach both, or rather (usually) tai chi, tanglangquan (8step mantis) for beginners, and for disciples (usually 3 years of training or more) they move on to Baji quan, baguazhang and piguazhang. so yeah, but then you'll have to learn all these others cool styles as well;)

  • this is a really amazing form

  • so many people talkin great about traditional kung fu such as bagua xingyi and baji, also wing chun, still no one with guts to go show true power to mma fuckers LIVE

  • @tranglomango thats cause we aren't fucking retarded any martial artist knows how powerful their own bodies become. stupid untrained ignorant people like you can't even contemplate a person who has mastered their body has to think about. I can't play bloody knuckles without breaking bones, I have to constantly make sure people don't accidentally set of my reflexes and i incapacitate them. when you get to that level martial understanding style is irrelevant. true power is illegal in the ring

  • @XD4133 listen smart ass, I also practice Kung Fu, traditional way, 5 hours straight mabu stance for a year, do you know what that is?? I know what is to turn ur body and mind into a weapon, I do not consider myself one but I already almost incapacitated ppl that got my instincts out, instincts from hard and fucking hellish training..I jnow my body and I know it's language, I have almost absolute control of it, I train for almost 8 years non stop

  • @XD4133

SO it's not that I don't know or understand what you said, but u could be more polite, looks like u need to grow up a lil more, keyboard badass..

I think the way you think about my very first comment so shut the fuck up and mind ur words, I don't know you and u choose to reply the comment urself so get over it...

  • @XD4133 MMA are a bunch of fuckers who commit mistakes that even brawlers don't commit while brawling, so of course I know the answer to the question "why don't anyone go on UFC and fuck everything up with killing power?" NOW THE REASON of such question...if every one knows so much about power and kung fu power why don't show it for real instead comenting shit???

    Ma bad

  • @XD4133 next time don't judge others without knowing others..it may kill, and u know it since ur so badass and so well trained...

    words don't make deeds boy

    peace

  • I just love this style, it's awesome

  • what is this music?

  • @mirochkamirochka same question

  • @mirochkamirochka

Huo Yuan Jia by Jay Chou

    霍元甲 - 周杰论

  • @Valaric92690

    THANKS!

  • what is the music?

  • i hou style baji this is such a beautiful powerful style its a shame its not better known state side since my trainning is full of holes that were formed after i left the academy i was at

  • What is This Song?

  • jay chou - huo yuan jia

  • shaolin monk shi yong ki tot me this ;history china army learnd this 2 defeat the japanese army very powerfull symple and efective

  • Shanxi style, so this is.. Wu style?

  • wow i do see a lot of moves from Kenji

  • @MyPEN15GrantsWishes great manga currently reading it xD

  • i watch this video after i readt Kenji manga

  • Can someone tell me the application or the use of the move of 0:36 and the spinning hand motions. Im starting out on Baji and im still not familiar with some of the movements and their useage

  • I muted it and played Incubus - aqueous transmission instrumental, realy fits.

  • His name is Zhang Long

  • his name Zhang Long

  • and whats the song?

  • can i learn baji and piqua in nj or will i have to do wushu?

  • very nice demostration, but i do really think the background music is appropriate, it was good I mean, but it could be much better.

  • his form would be more effective if it was on concrete ground, terrible footwork

  • @phtdrgn916 Did you say his footwork was terrible??LOL.

  • @ChanGengYun yes... the guy obviously been practicing on the MAT for too long... watch and youll see

  • what is this specific tao lu or form is this called?? since there are quite a few baji forms

  • Excellent form. Much respect from a karate practitioner. OSU!! (I say this as a sign of respect from karate to baji, please don't take the wrong way)

  • very fluid.

  • Great video! Who does the music?

I'd love to download it onto my ipod.

  • f'ing sick vid, i can imagine the applications to this.i like the music also.

  • @TheTommy626

I agree. Esecially about the music.

  • whats the name of this song? it kinda sounds like jay chou

  • Best Baji Video I've ever seen.

  • hi! yes its true, this form is what the san fang lineage in wudang teach. the xuan wu lineage has a different form... greets niko

  • Awesome

  • i learned this form a while ago, and this is the best one i've seen

very fluid, powerful, focused... i would say its perfect

  • I've never see someone perform Baji form this solid. Thanks for uploading :)

  • @emanresu81 I agree.

  • where is it filmed? looks like an old fabric hall, or is this dust on the floor wanted to look more mystical? very good i like this video, watched it very often...

  • man, i love this video. i keep watching it over and over

  • Isn't it pronounced Bājíquán?

  • their stances are so goddamn low

  • these guys are incredible

  • hey whats the name of the song

  • @azngunhero

I think its "Jay Chou - Fearless"

  • When his stance is so low, it is hard to hit him with MMA moves. All you can think of is a nice round-house kick to his front leg, but that will leave you exposed to his attacks, particular dick attacks. All he needs to do is to block your leg with his both hands, and then he can do a combination to your low body, particular the DICK ATTACKS.

  • Indeed, MMA is great inside the ring or octagon, but Chinese Kung Fu is the best in life or death situation. That's because you need so much strength to knock out a guy inside the octagon when there are many rules. For example, you can't hit a guy's eyes and testicle, as well as hitting your opponent with fingers stabbing or different kinds of fists. However, those are excellent in life or death situation. Just think about how you going to attack this Chinese master when his stance is so low

  • The problem in relying in illegal techniques (like eye gouges and groin shots) is that you can not pressure test them through sparring and competition. You can only develop it's timing in drills, which is much more limiting. Compare this to a legal technique (like a straight punch to the chin) that can be drilled and used in sparring and competition. Your timing for that kind of attack is much more developed and more likely to be done successfully in a life or death situation.

  • I know what you mean, but there are still ways to train these attacks. For instance, Wing Chun offers "sticky hands". Moreover, other Kung Fu practitioners would train their fingers to become as hard as steel. Since attacking with fingers give you reach advantage, it is even better than a fist in many situation. Furthermore, if you have fingers as hard as steel, you can end a fight by stabbing them into your opponent's body and don't necessary to find his chin.

  • At the same time, of course, they will practice in sparring with ordinary strikes. They just have to apply these attacks into ordinary strikings. There is no difference between the timing of hitting someone with their fists and with other kinds of 'hands'. There is a great deal of different kinds of Kung Fu that are not using ordinary fists to attack. for instances, Mantis, Tiger, Eagles, and so on. All of them could make a lot of blood by just hitting someone on their body or limbs.

  • drills are often practiced in sparring. obviously though, if a school relies entirely on "illegal" techniques, then it fails. whether in or out of the ring, you have to be rounded.

what works in the ring, might not work outside the ring, and vice versa.

  • I concur.

  • It's quite different from the original form, I think this one is the new modification form, but the basic principles are still the same. And I like this form better; seems like it have more speed and power. Nice vid!

  • I'd really love to learn this style. I hear so much about it being powerful.

  • @twobitmage bai ji is effectively explosive attacks which can also be used parry, so brutal attacks and nullifying the opponent's at the same time

  • @twobitmage try li shu wen's style

  • @justinhasproblems1 Li Shu Wen was a great and strong master, but now, what's remained of his baji? I don't really like what his descendants are doing. I prefer Wu family baji sincerely. Anyway, Li baji, even nowadays, is far better than this video. There's no comparison ahah.

  • @Intifadark

Does Li's descendants a bad guys?

  • @emanresu81 In which sense?

  • @Intifadark

    From your comment before.

You don't really like what his descendants are doing. Maybe that's because, they do something bad?

  • @emanresu81 Simply I think that they've lost some important principles, skills and knowledge in the decades. Surely Li style is way better than Han style. Just like Han style is better than wudang baji or stuff like that.

  • @twobitmage you make the power not the style, however it helps a little

  • the song is Huo Yuan Jia by Jay Chou

  • Song?

  • Nice demonstration!

  • Go find out for yourself and you'll know the truth to your question. Otherwise you'll just talk or mental masturbate yourself in circles 'hypothesizing' instead of 'actualizing' what is real with a bunch of 'ifs'.

  • Sound reason.

  • off course

  • @fuckyou68686 Every Mortal arts have some trick to defend from ANY attack, inclusive weapons. It only depends how much you train to the body to automatically respond to an attack.

  • where can i find the video without the song?

  • Mute the sound you fucking retard duhhh

  • AWESOME

  • I know he is master Chan Long , but Who can tell me how to contact him ?

  • i keep thinking the symbol in the back is a 6, but its actually a square yin yang sign

  • What is the song? I had but lost it. Can somebody tell me? Thanks.

  • hey~

it's a song by Jay Chou, the romanization would be Huo Yuan Jia

  • A Chinese take on RHCP's "Give It Away", methinks... :-D

  • What is the music? I want to get it.

  • Ni de Baji Quan Hen Hao!!!

  • This is Zhang Long's competition form, pretty cool. I took Taekwondo, cause that's all you find in every town, that and karate. As a fight style, Taekwondo is useless, we had a seperate class taught to us for grappling. In the end, the simple side kick was stronger and easier to pull off than any flashy spin kick.

  • I know this same form. But my flavor or the flavor I was thought is different, but the same form no less. anyways, this guy has real power and awesome footwork. He no doubt know the applications from the form, you can clearly see that.

  • thanks. a lot of fun to watch. music and the Baji are both good.

  • Très belle video d'un art interne peu répandu.

  • cool style, where in the USA can i learn this

  • I believe that'ts Sifu Eric Chen he has a school on the west coast (Omei Kung fu). He's good I seen a few articles on him.

  • no, it is Zhang Long as the characters say in the end of the video

  • what is the name of the song ?

  • The song is the title song from the movie "Huo Yuan Jia (Fearless)", sung by Jay Chou

  • From manga KENJI, this BaJiQuan (8 Wind Directions KungFu) was taught by a guy named Lie Syo Bun. And one more form is from Ma family

  • Where did you read this manga?

  • Theres a Rapidshare link for it, try google it

  • That ain't helpful. Give me a better lead.

Come on, man. I've been desperately trying find this manga for many years now.

  • @ShinFuYux try it in mangafox

  • @mamanglodet haha, yeah, that's where I eventually found it, actually.

  • Very good! Better execution does not have met.

  • Baji quan was made up from a moslem family and not Wudang, but lot of kung fu styles took this form as Shaolin and Wudang and many other difrent Martial art schools because Baji Quan is un beutyfull and deadly art. // Sifu M

  • Very nice, i like the power and speed!

  • This is a good practitioner, you can actually hear it on his instructional video (sharp LOUD bangs on any stomp move). However, PLEASE think a moment of where those "monks" at Wudang come from. Right, modern wushu schools at Beijing and then relocated to Wudang tourism industry. Baji DOESN'T "come from Wudang". Thanks for your understanding.

  • very nice, and he did it all on slippery dirt just so you could see the energy coming from his whole body

  • amazing power and speed. anyone know where to learn this wushu in malaysia?

  • Check Malaysia Wu Tang

  • IN CHINA

  • IN CHINA

  • no jay chou song pls....

    sucks...

and at first the Baji wallpaper stay too long...

  • He plays that version of Baji better than some of the monks on Wudang mountain. He has good fa-jing.This version of Baji is the best non-tradition version I've seen; even has the piqua hands. I like to play traditional Baji, it doesn't look as pretty but it works.I enjoyed the video, though!

  • I LOVE IT

  • Very fluid. Nice :3 .

I so want to learn this.

  • very good

  • The only move that closely resembles wushu chang quan was at 2:05. Search "chang quan 32" from youtube.

  • Wow what a energy....

Very beautiful movement with power... sand in the floor make the power from movement more exposed.

  • This song is about Huo Yuan Jia. I like the song. It works with the music, but its about a Mi Zhong master. That aside, very solid, excellent martial arts

  • Thanks =)

for the comments, used the song because no other songs i feel can be used to describe this form =)

  • His interpretation of the form makes the true beauty come out of Baji Quan. Absolutely Loved this Video!!!!

  • yes, moves are very similar to baji quan of Ma style tongbei.

  • WTF. I know this form. I learnt it at Wudang Mountain. Who is this guy? I'd be interested in finding out the connection.

  • Hey i am not sure but i think you can try asking around, chould be from shanxi team, he is the team captian there.. but i think wudang's baji has many similarities with the bajis that is around =)

  • his name is Zhang Long, shanxi province. the connection is simple, this is pretty much a standard wushu version of bajiquan and the monks at wudang also practice the same form.

  • yeh i know... and this dude is way better then master pervert... i mean master yuan!

  • Great! It's Excellent!

I want to learn this baijiquan.

Where can I see 張龍 先生?

  • Very cool. I don't know many traditional baji quan guys will like his "style", but I always liked this vid. I remember seeing this guy's videos online back around 1998 or '99 I think. It's what got me interested in baji quan in the first place :p

  • never heard of shanxi style baji. this looks like ma style though.
