Although you are moving out from your parents and family that doesn't mean that you don't love them anymore. As for my personal opinion, that is the best way to keep the LOVE alive between the wife and the family.
I think the best thing to do is once the son is married. They he think they can live and support them ownself, move out. The best way to discribe my idea is live on your own while you guys are loving one another. Don't wait til the last minute everyone already hating on eachother. Because me as a son, I really hate to be in the middle between my wife and my family, That is the hardest thing in a son's life. Don't wanna be on either side.
Dear my Hmong fellow, let me know if you like my idea.
In our generation, If you have a son and daughter in law and if you think they can live on their own let them do it. . I say about 90% of our Hmong families the Mother in law and the daughter in law are the problem. Don't matter if the mother in law and daugter in law are both 100% perfect in person. Don't matter if they like each other. If they live together, eventually there will be problems. cuz they both do things and think differently
BITCHY IN LAWS WILL ONE DAY GET A VERY BITCHY NYAB AND THEM THEY WILL KNOW. DON'T WORRY YOU WILL GET YOUR CHANCE LATER IN LIFE WHEN LAWV LAUS UA TSIS TAU NOJ.
@JEWLoh LOL! I totally agree. If you're the type of mother in law that are bitchy, you will totally get a bitchy daughter in law. Fuck this whole hmong culture shit where one is less equal than another. Although, mother in laws should be loved as if she was your real mom, they also need to learn how to love their daughter in laws like their own.
Abkia cheng.. how come you never understand the situation of letting you go. were not even marry, my family already treat me like this song. how can i brought you into the family and watch them abuse you. i rather let you go and suffer wit the pain.
This is so sad, it reminds me of my past and the dark days of my life. It's sad to realize that no matter how much you try and no matter how sincere you are they would not accept you as their daughter in law. This comes from my own experience. Sometimes it gets tiresome but what really holds me from leaving is my dear husband. All I can say is that life can be horrible but in life there is always karma and so for those daughter in law out there just be patient and one day they will realize.
@leilayaj you are right... there is karma, what goes around, it'll come around. so be patient and doing goods always win evil at the end. yes it may take some sacrifice so do the best out of the best. one day someone will see what you did and will return everything back to you.
@mengo530 Yeah, and the thing about this is that people who don't live in the same house would never understand. They believe the gossip...the rumors and this only makes it worst. I love my MIL I am willing to help her through thick and thin. When I see her carry heavy things I insist on doing it for her. She cries because her kids torture her, they hit her and I would hug her and tell her that she shouldn't be sad because there's still her son and me but she doesn't care...best of lucks to all
@leilayaj yea it is true.. ppl who don't live in the same house never understand unless one day in the future they been through.. it is hard to explain how hard it is to face this kind of sacrifice. tats y some ppl rather give up and put them self in the dark in order to make both side to be happy.
A nyab is always a stranger brought into the family, she is never a family member but always a stranger. Therefore, again, mutual respect the nyab extremely careful... Oh, this is applicable to husband and wife, too. Peace...
@hmoobxwb1 I agreed. A daughter-in-law will always be a stranger brought into the family. In my situation, I just wish to have nice in-laws but in this Hmong community, they are so stubborn and so selfish. Thank goodness, my husband and I don't live with my in-laws anymore. It's just when they hit you hard, even if you try to stay and be patient with them, they always hurt you, so might as well moved out and live on your own and do things that can prove to them that you will succeed.
@karinalee1989 Good for you. I used to tell my female friends, cousins, nieces, aunts, sisters and daughters; that, if you are going to get marry to a Hmong guy, you better be sure to do some research about the guy's immediate family tree. Try to have a job first before getting marry, because your job is the only evidence that allow you to move out. Because in this case, you can afford to support your husband while live apart from his family. Good 4u...
Mutual respect and know your position. Poj yog poj, nyab yog nyab. Yog poj tsis paub tias nyab yog tus nyab es pheej saib nyab li yog ib tug ntxhais xwb ces kev ciav thiaj ntsim siab ntsws li ntiv me qhiav. Mutual respect the nyab, because she was and always be a stranger which brought into the family. No matter how long the nyab had been with the family, she is always a nyab.
thank you.. wat i said is wat out of my heart because my mom taught us to treat everybody equally. i never been there before, but when i think if i was a grl and get abuse by my in-law like this song. i could feel her pain already.
Poj ciav nyab: is that issue still going on in this country??? One advice for you girls, especially the daughters-in-law, when your in-laws love you and respected you do all you can to maintain that loving act, don't ever do anything bad to change their minds otherwise the message in this song will be true.
@haistiagtiag Still going in Hmong society, as well also going on with other cultures, too. Poj yawm ciav nyab, niamtais yawmtxiv ciav vauv. It hurt alot, but, it is almost a normal thing to some people. Stubborn people will ciav koj at first impression or in any other impression. Move on without destroying your marriage. You got to win your marriage.
@haistiagtiag You don't have to compromise with your in-laws, just save your marriage. Lawv tsis care yus los yus yeej tsis care lawv tibyam nkaus xwb. Fight is bad, move out is good. It will hurt at the beginning but you will reap the peace of mind in time. Good luck...
I saw many grls who been abuse by their in-law and sis-n-law. Ladies out there, please treat each other equally. If u dont respect each other, who will respect u. Not that u dont like her then u have the right to abuse her. Please respect each other and to the guys. Listen to both side of story b4 u make ur decision. One is ur mother and one is ur wife. Who are u going to live with for the rest of ur life? love this song so please don't treat ur wife like this song.
@mengo530 Often time it's because of the stupid hmong culture: nyab tsis muaj menyuam ces ciav nyab; nyab tsis muaj tub ces ciav nyab; nyab yog neeg txomnyem ces ciav nyab; nyab tsis muaj niam tsis muaj txiv ces ciav nyab; nyab tsis txawj tsis ntse ces ciav nyab and so on...
