So for the blue magicks, you have to set the ability "Learn" to your blue mage. I have done that and i have had him since about lvl 6 but he still doesn't know any blue magicks. I'll look at some FAQ's but it would really be nice if oyu messaged me back. And i know im bugging you because this is like the 20th time i've messaged you. So sorry about that.
You won't learn blue magick just by equipping the Learn ability. Specific blue magick skills must be used on the person with Learn by an enemy monster, and the Learn person must survive the skill to learn it. It also has to connect and have an effect on you (e.g. a status has to be inflicted, Roar should actually dispel a status etc.).
MoogleBoss apearantly you appear to be the Best known guy to this Game, can you give me a list of all the Blue magics that available to be learned... i can only seem to learn 4 so far and they aren't that much useful... also can you give me a tip on how to learn Buffing Blue-Magics?
The list is much too long, compared to the FFTA1 one. I suggest you look up a Blue Magick FAQ on GameFAQs for a full list as well as the location of monsters (do be aware that some of them list random encounter battles available only after the game's completion, so make note of the magicks you want to learn and check if monsters during every missions have those skills). Buff skills will not be cast on you unless the monster is charmed/confused, but it'll be easier if you bring Beastmaster along.
Thanks MoogleBoss, i'll put my eye to use on the FAQs, also good tip about the Beastmaster i've learned 5 new abilities ever since ^^ now i have 8 Blue Magics, can't wait to put them to use ( Since i currently have my Thief becomming a Ninja and my secondary skills are "High Magics")
okay thanks... last time i played this i had no idea what i was doing and by the time i had reached flowsand lord i was getting crushed badly.... but thats because my characters hardly knew any abilities.... my white mage still only knew cure and she had only been a white mage the whole time so yeah.. i sucked
Did you use bazaar? It's pretty important, though you can abuse the auctions to a degree where no bazaar items are really needed to complete the game easily.
Humans learn the passive ability Learn and equip it. Every time one of the specific blue magick skills gets cast on them by a monster with Learn equipped, they gain access to it.
oh i can only learn from monsters? cos i was trying to relearn moves onto another generic character (from another gen. char.) but they dont get learned...
I've done a lv. 2 game in the first FFTA, check out my playlists for info.
A No Healing game wouldn't be awfully difficult since nothing else is restricted, plus there are always cheap possibilities to deal ridiculous amounts of damage, the further you progress the more.
No Equipment, Level 2 Game, Mandatory Missions Only, Luso Solo, Luso [insert class here] Solo, Single Race/Class/Sex/whatever, or just use your imagination and think of what you would enjoy based on your general preferences.
I quit pretty much everything I'd started in this game because it was tedious, but this one will be finished. I'm already at The Ritual, which is the last mission in the game iirc. Gotta do a lot of preparation first though.
"Let's just make a hint saying that certain big birds will be ridden as soon as we get Hurdy in our party"
I just loaded up my save to double check. Hurdy cannot be a Chocobo Knight, nether can Montblanc.
If you move the cursor to the Chocobo Knight class on Hurdy/Montblanc and push the help button you get a message saying "Hurdy/Montblanc can not change to this job"
I don't mean to sound like a know-it-all, just trying to help you out.
What I meant is that Hurdy joins with an instrument equipped. Giving that equipment to the generic moogle your clan starts with allows him to learn his second a-ability, unlocking the Chocobo Knight class.
I simply stated hiring Hurdy is the exact time chocobos can start being mounted in the game's story and didn't go into much detail because I'd explain it when time would come.
Sorry. My mistake, wasn't thinking about what gear Hurdy comes with. Considering how intricate the bazaar system is with acquiring gear, I have a hard time remembering what you can or can not get without it (with a few exceptions, of course).
Thinking of good gear you get without the bazaar, are you allowing yourself to use scions in this challenge?
I'm not banning scions but not considering their use either. No Totema was hardly ever a rule in the FFTA challenges I've played, and that doesn't mean I actually did use the command. It's pretty much common sense that doing it would break the challenge, and that's the same case here.
I used to include the name of the song used in the video description but I'd get daily comments along the lines of 'OOOOH U RUINED MY FAV BAND W/ UR GEYMS IMA KEEL UR WAIF', so I stopped that trend.
The second song is titled Sound of Free, by the way.
It was meant to be an FFTA2 version of a No Equipment game. Only, I wanted to have a lot more variety, not just Master Monks running around and destroying everything and healing with Items.
Level 2 and Mandatory Missions Only challenges in this game are boring because they pretty much demand auction abuse and Mirror Item + X-Potion. No fun.
love it

which clan trials did you do to get your power 1 to increase to power 3
xShadowBlitzx 2 years ago
Aptitude... Aptitude 2 for Power Up 5.
MoogleBoss 2 years ago
also what do you think is the best clan bonus to get at the start because i'm stuck between extra exp or extra AP
xShadowBlitzx 2 years ago
If you have too many abilities to learn, pick AP. I personally never use the bonus EXP privilege.

I can beat the game with those limits. I only went through 1/2 the game without knowing how to do any (and I just preferred magic over items) XD

Sounds interesting.
Auctions are definetly the most broken thing in the game, so it's a good thing you banned them.
Good luck!
