Wrong again mate . The most important aspect of any song is ..1 The writer .Without him , there is no song . It all starts there . There is nothing more important whatsoever in the realm of music ( or indeed any art ) than the guy who sits down with his pen . 2 . The players . No matter how good the song , or the piano piece , or the symphony ..if it can't be played , then it remains in the writers head . Those who can do both are the real artists , without them , the rest don't count

In reality , all people can sing , some can just sing better than most , and some are not so good at all , but if you can speak , you can sing . If you sang this song to me , I'd know right away what the song was , no matter how badly you sang it . If I asked you to write it and play , you'd stop dead ..you wouldn't know where to begin . Oh I do enjoy music , that's why I steer well clear of Will Young . ( Incidentally , I have the real original of this song by Johnny Nash ) and if I need a good singer , I could go to my nephews school concert and hear dozens of them , and as a last resort , I'd even have a go myself .

yes, without the songs, you wouldn't need the singers, but I think a singer makes a huge difference. If I really like a song, but not the singer's voice, my enjoyment and appreciation is greatly reduced.

This, perhaps, wasn't Will's best cover, but he did a decent job.
