  • Beautiful car and you look very much at home behind the wheel. My dad had one when i was growing up so im on the look out for one now but they are few and far between in England as they are appreciating classics.

  • What is with all of the seatbelt freaks below? Chill out!

  • @MrClassicDoctorWho Series 3 Jags don't have airbags so it's particularly messy should you get into an RTC whether it's your fault or not.

  • Good job, but you should fasten your belt when driving.

  • Great car , thanks for sharing.

  • "Running on empty" nice song to go with a car that gets drunk on petrol and has two petrol tanks. Nice car, I really like the XJ series pre-1990. The ones of the 90's don't do the Jaguar justice at all.

  • Lovely car, it was one I always dreamed of owning when I was at school! Sadly I have never bought one, yet! The high costs of fuel (equivalent to $11 per gallon), high insurance in the United Kingdom and massive service bills puts me off. Road tax is also steep. There are not many specialists that can service a Jaguar now. Another favourite was the XJ-12 in red... Maybe one day I will get one as a second car, the XJ-R looks good. 0-60 in 5s!!!!! Great restoration job you did there.

  • Really nice Jag!

  • AWESOME car!! i always loved these... it was the first car i ever drove... my grandma had one sat in her garage... it was a heap but we got it running... it never "went" anywhere tho cause i couldnt insure it... or drive it... when i was 12! That cars long since gone and now i have a 96 XJ6... Fancied something a little more modern for everyday.

  • Mate....It is law where I live to wear seatbelts!!....You have to be nuts not to wear something put there for your own safety. Imagine your head impacting that dash.

    Not pretty.

  • how old are you 15 ?

  • i love the series 3's there so beautiful peace of british design

  • Respect from Jaguar Club Russia!!

    Great job))

  • Very nice car,

but if i were you i wouldnt be uploading videos of you driving without a seatbelt.

  • @AlexRedsell I drive without a seat belt all the time. I'm sick of Big Brother telling me what to do and not to do and regulating us to death. Screw seat belt laws! And...screw Big Brother, too!!

  • fair fucking play mate, well done to you sir

  • Good for you man!

  • Comment removed

  • @JSneaker Im not actually 96 Im 18 thats jsut my age as a joke and my current insurance on a 2 litre diesel ford Mondeo is cvrazy so i was wondering how such a young driver is insured on the xj6 I tried to get insurance for one and it was impossible

  • How much does it cost someone young in the states to get insured on one of these i cant get insured in one on ireland at all

  • my parents just gave me their 83' xj6 and im going to restore it all summer ...and btw good work

  • a my jaguar look the same but it was white and it had rust every where i almost gave up on it but i did and now my car looks like new and just to let u know i was 14years old when i got it and all summer long i worked on it and i finish it the day before i when back to school

  • nice car, nice guy! greets from austria

  • i had a Ice Blue 1986 XJ6 it ran like a top a little issues here and there but she was perfect she was my first car drive from PA to CA to MD with not a single problem except water to keep it cool. i was generous enough to give it to my cousion for christmas who kept it for a while and painted it white and sold it. now i wish i had never sold the car

  • i have the same car but my color is maroon

  • well done m8.you saved a beautiful car there

  • What model of Jaguar did the mascot come off please? Mine has a different base which accommodates a centre chromed bonnet rib to run from under the mascot to the grille. Good video by the way and great to see a Jag being looked after.

  • love it... I have a 84 xj6 myself which I drove from FL to CA with no problems... also joined jag-lovers recently. Engine runs great, now i just have to tackle some rust spots. Anyways... looking good.

  • WOW FL to CA! Thats as awesome drive! Esp in that car!!!! And thats incredible that there was not a single problem. I cant wait to start restoring my 86 xj6. I have lots of rust spots! lol

  • hey car looks sweet, you commented on my slalom run, my car was crap when i got it, dont know if you are a member of jag-lovers, but there are pics of my restoration, they are also on car domain... keep up the good work!

    Darren

  • thanks,

I love the jag-lovers site, they helped me fix most of my problems. Do you go by the same name on the jag-lovers site? And did you do any performance mods to your jag for that slalom run?

  • My name on jag lovers is darrenmb1968, the only mod if you can cal it that would be the addition of a k and n air filter, other than that shes totally stock!

  • congrats, 87's are the last year they made them which means that is (in jaguars opinion) the model perfected.

unfortunately its still 80's British wiring, so expect problems, but it all depends on how well the car is maintained.

and as far as hardness to work on goes, there not super hard to work on but there are still a lot of tight spots. and head scratching wiring

  • hrmm im kinda curious, the parts car Ive got is a series 3, meaning fuel injected v6, the original is a series 2, meaning dual carburetors. how good is the gas mileage on the series 3? (series 2 is supposed to be ~17mpg on highways).

  • Ive heard other owners claim 24mpg, but as far as I know the series 3 and 2 get about the same gas millage. and you have a strait 6 not a v6

  • @water2wine638 If you have to ask about mpg a Jag is not for you. And that would be a straight six. Not a strait 6 nor a V6.

  • can any one help me i need a wiring diagram for a jaguar xj6

  • nice, thing is looking good, i actually just got a 76 xj6c (yeah its a C) and a 83 xj6 for parts, so my long restoration on that beautiful xj6c starts in the next few months...

  • Be sure to take put some video up here of your xj6c!

  • how much do you think your car is worth ???

there is one like this on sale only$ 500dlls the interiior needs some work the radiator and the key swithch do y ou think is worth it ??

  • I would say its worth it. these jags are not worth very much, except to their owners. mines only worth about $1000 but I would never sell it for that. A mint condition one can go between 4k and 8k

  • Nice Jag !!! thanks for the reply !! i let you know if i buy it !! heh !!!

  • Cracking job mate. I bought my first XJ6 as soon as I could drive and never looked elsewhere. Current toy is a '77 Series 2 4.2.

  • Great Job!! I had a Maroon 84 XJ6 when I was 17 and did i ever LOVE that car!

  • Great job! Congrats on what looked like a lot of hard work...end result looks great.

  • Well restored mate.

Wish I'd called you for mine!

  • great video, nice job. I had my first Jaguar when i was 19 an 87 XJ6 III loved it...always got the "oh,,,driving daddy's car" comments though :( guess it was a bit of an old mans car but who cares-I loved it....I really wanted a XJSC :)

  • Not a bad paint fix for what you had nice car

  • how your only 12

    jks

    nice car

  • This kid's got class........ but braces and no seat belt!!!!

  • I always wear seat belt now, my mom was in a pretty bad car accident last x-mas, and luckily she was wearing a seat belt which saved her life.

and I'm getting the braces off soon.

    thanks for the comment.

  • I just made a bid on an '85 XJ6 with the Wire Wheels and 93k miles. Wish me luck!

  • Great job. I have an 87 XJ6. Keep up the good work.

  • Congratulations, dude! such a brilliant work you're doing there. Always awesome to save history. I'm considering to buy an old and rusted Mercedes from late 70's which some old gentleman doesn't wanna sell me(nor he fixes it) and breaks my heart to see the that blue sedan getting gone.

    Good vibes!

  • Nice! Jags are always classic. I have a 1991 Jag Sovereign 4.0 liter, Britsh racing green and tan leather interior. Got the cat and badge on the front. Love it! Bought it in 1998 and feel like a million bucks everytime I drive it. Had stored it for the last yr due to gas prices and finances, just tried to get her started and the battery is completely dead. I'll get it out again soon. Keep up the good work!

  • Nice car, you are definitely saving a classic. Keep up the good work.

  • Congratulations, That is a beautiful machine and sure to keep you satisfied for many years to come. I own an 85' XJS. Keep her up in good mechanical shape and you will not be disappointed.

  • Nothing beats a Jag for looks and style

  • nice video jesus. but mitsubishi mirages are better hahaha

  • Great video!

I love the series III Jag XJ6s altought I currently own a '94 XJ40. I will defenitaly buy a series III XJ6. Haven't decided what to do to the XJ40, keep it or sell it.

    Joe77

  • Looking good there my man!

  • nice on reviving it from the dead, i have the same car but i got no jag statue on the front and it's maroon color, i was going to put tainted window but that my kill the classic car bying looking all ghetto lol
