@arhavlisj Damn! Italy 93. If my mind still serves, Pole was taken by Prost, and Fastest Lap and Victory by Hill. I'm not sure about Fastest Lap but for sure Alain got pole and Damon the Victory. I remember Professor was ahead and blew engine with some laps to go, Hill was second and took the victory. A deserved one since in Germany 1993 GP Hill blew a tyre on last lap and Prost won. So this win was fair!!!. And Ayrton and Hill had a meeting on 1st chicane, Senna crashed with Brundell later.
@arhavlisj What a surrealistic experience could have been to witness Senna, Prost, Mansell, Piquet, Rosberg, Jones, etc., on that track, and specially on 86 GP!!! But how does it feels to see current drivers last weekend? LOL..... Is it the same? No, it isn't... I still remember mallamoozoo being there in Australia 93 (last Senna-Prost podium...), and mallamoozoo asking Prost to sign a T-Shirt that said "SENNA" on it!!!. Prost signed it, of course. Quite a gift!!!.
@sargatanas88 Sarga! Long time! Interesting quote about the chassis. McLaren was a sophisticated machine. But I would dare to say that McLaren was the best chassis only for Prost, not Rosberg. The car was designed for Prost, and Keke used to say that some changings to fit a bit more with his driving style were necessary. McLaren never payed attention to those changes until last race in Australia. When McLaren did the changes on the car that Keke wanted, He could have won it: Australia 86...
@lucianoestivill as i did remember Prost wanted a slightly understeering car while Rosberg didn`t like this charcteristic of the McLaren MP4/2. So Keke was surprisingly outperformed both in qualifying and race during the season 86. for sure Keke was not as good as Prost in politics so he was more like a Raikkonen simply driving the car as fast as he could.
The contact with Berger forces Prost to pit in for a new nose. He resumes in last place with a bent steering column requiring him to adjust his steering by a 1/4 turn on the straights for the rest of the race. His fastest lap was 2 seconds faster than anyone else and finishes 6th for a vital point that year.John Barnard watched the telemetry and said Prost didn't once touch the boost. He took that drive out of himself, not the car,and Barnard rates it one of the best performances he's ever seen.
@flipsidedogchop NOPE. I was just telling the truth on this race, according to real facts and data, and how this Master Prost raced that day..... It's up to you to investigate history. Search real info on this topics, all kind of info available. As always, some research may lead you to a wrong idea on how things happens and some will be correct. Your own investigation and study will allow you to distinguish false info from real facts. That's what I do. Try it! Quite a challange for some folks!
totally insane the amount of people standing in the pitlane here,,!!
