Real cyclists aren't that careless...most accidents involving a car and bicycle are the fault of the driver (most cagers have their fair share of deficiencies)
Yes the boy was in the wrong, but that doesn't mean he deserved to get hit by a car. If you came home drunk and forgot to lock the door, do you deserve to get robbed and stabbed while you sleep? Come on, Lives are far more important than Material Possessions and Cliques.
@UniversalTruths No, but people often bring their own misfortunes upon themselves. Sometimes that's how people have to learn. People who leave their doors unlocked or cross when they're not supposed to are asking for trouble. In your example, if you're getting drunk to the point you're becoming careless, maybe you shouldn't be getting that drunk. I have a hard time feeling sorry for people who have shit happen to them because of their own stupidity and carelessness.
@UniversalTruths You know, do we keep "dumbing down" society by removing consequences for their actions because their own carelessness might get themselves hurt? I don't particularly like the idea of protecting ourselves from ourselves.
@SCOOTERBOY40029 Of course he should have sued, after all, the car driver should have used her x ray vision to see him come pass the car stopped to her right, she should have known a twat was about to jump a red light, she should have checked her crystal ball before driving that day, stupid inconsiderate car driver :)
@SCOOTERBOY40029 Bollocks. I feel sorry for the car driver having to suffer the stress of it all. The piece of shit on the bicycle deserved to get knocked off. Maybe he has learned a lesson.
What a fucking dumbass, I think this is natural selection trying to tell you something kid. I'd be more pissed off that the little douche just dented my bonnet, wait for the green man and who doesn't look when crossing, moron
@gaggotgaggot i have as much fat as you show intelligence. if you would put the energy you waste hating on others, you might make yourself a better person. too bad your mom missed the chance for a perfectly good abortion.
@gaggotgaggot probably not as much as others like to see you fail. ignorant statements like that show me you never tried anything and have no passion. cyclists are aware of the risks, and still enjoy cycling. enjoy your couch, but don't move too fast.
@gaggotgaggot I'll think you'll find the up-loaders description is " boy on a bike " you cretinous piece of arse wipe. As he was there let's take his word shall we? Was it that mummy didn't allow you to ride one in case her little soldier got hurt , & that's why you're such an angry prick now?
@Mrbikertomtom cyclist- a person who rides a bike.. he rides a bike therefore he is a cyclist, so you dear man are the 'twat' and i bet you are one of the faggots that think they have right of way riding a bike on the road, ride near me and i would hit you..
@5555Kieran If you want to play it like your a clever, surely you would have noticed that the kid was on a BMX. You can ride a bmx on the pavement and without lights as they do not come under the same policy(law) as 'bikes'. And to your conclusion, I disagree, a person who rides a bike is not a cyclist. Cyclists are proper, for example that would most probably have never happened if it was a cyclist. That was a kid on a bmx not paying attention. You must be well hard threating on the internet..
@Mrbikertomtom go get a dictionary and look at the definition of a cyclist, and well no here in australia all bikes no matter what it is come under the same rules as cars and other motor vehicles no matter what bike you ride you are meant to ride on the road if you're caught riding on the footpath or pavement you get fined $56 and i ride bmx and i also have a bike i ride to work the bike that you would think to class me as a cyclist but no i actually am right so good day sir!
exception for children to the age of 12 ,wheel chair user's and mobility scooter's are exempt from this law , funny enough there is no mention of the use of foot scooters , roller skates and skateboarders cannot use some public footpaths and cant use road's ! no wonder skate board's are so cheap, 20 years ago they cost a fortune ! LOL ....
@KaiserKujo yes but it's also illegal to do 31mph in a 30mph zone and if you drive a car I'm sure you are acting illegally every day many many times.
@stevefm It isn't really Illegal to do 31 in a 30 zone is it now, there is room for error, so no it is not actually illegal to do 31 in a 30 zone assuming your car's speedo is not massively wrong. Besides most cars speedo is slightly overated so if your car says 31, you are more than likely actually doing 28-31MPH. But it is still illegal for this idiot to be riding a bike on the footpath.
@KaiserKujo its a difficult one. the last time i looked at the code, it wasnt exactly illegal, but it was highly discouraged (i think it should personaly, with the exception of large pedestrian streets like at town/city centres)
But if you do cycle on the footpath or crossing, then it is your responcibility for any accident involving a pedestrian or vehicle.
i would go into greater detail but i dont feel its necessary
@QBAlchemist I'd have no problem riding on the road if car drivers didn't seem to have a vendetta against all cyclists. I've been forced onto the pavement a fair few times...
@KaiserKujo OK it's kind of confusing. But here is what I understand of it.
If the bicycle has wheels smaller than a certain size, it is deemed as a child's bike. Children can ride on pavements without problems. So adults can ride bikes with smaller wheels and it can be seen as fine by the police. Even if it is a bicycle designed for adults (any higher end BMX perhaps). I think that the bicycle must also be travelling at a speed which allows the rider to stop within 5.5m, but I'm not sure
@KaiserKujo I believe it is illegal for bicycles to ride on the pavement unless there is a sign post saying otherwise such as a cyclepath. I don't think there is anything wrong with cycling on the pavement as long as the cyclist acts like a second class citizen on the pavement and giving way to people and not riding fast. On the roads though, cyclists have the same rights as cars. The cyclist in this video is a typical non observant cyclist, he doesn't even look left when riding
@TemperatureIndicator Just so you know, I am a cyclist, I teach kids in schools how to ride safely on the road and I ride everyday. I've done long distance cycling and I have been involved with the council on cycling issues. I hate bad cyclists, always putting cycling down because people always remember the bad stuff, and never the good stuff.
Nobody deserves to get hit by a car or anything else weather their in the wrong or not so all the hate comments here from cunt saying he deserved it make me sick, if your kid got hit by a car would you say he/she deserved it....??????
@DavidVertz there's no difference whatsoever. just about everyone who's on a push-bike runs red lights. i hope that this happens to each and every single one who does it
@poplova I bet I know a hell of a lot more cyclists than you and being involved quite heavily in the sport I assure you there is a massive difference. Maybe 5% of 'real' cyclists I know run red lights the rest obey the rules. Fat blokes on £50 mountain bikes and jeans are not cyclists if you'd bother to get your fat arse out of your car you might realise that.
@DavidVertz two things. number one, i don't own a car, and number two, u clearly don't live in london or else u wouldn't have said that the majority of real cyclists (as you call them) don't run red lights. or else u just don't notice when they do
yes , but not all cyclist's are lycra wearing puff's that look hideous in flourescent pink and yellow legging's ! LoL , i wear jean's or trackie bottom's to cycle in, both on my carbon BM and my DH bike
nah not really , although you could do 1 thing , stop pretending only lycra wearing twonks with flashing light's on the helmets are professional bike riders ...... from the amount of vids on here by lycra wearing camera armed cyclist's they are clearly the worst sort of cyclist on the road ! ROFLMAO !
This is really funny to me because I literally just had the same thing happen to me an hour ago only the car that hit me was going quite a bit faster...thankfully I left the scene with a gash on my ear, a bruised shoulder, and no sympathy from my friends!! I know it was MY fault for going through the don't walk signal but shit, I got hit so hard my shoe fell right of my foot!
@gaggotgaggot . no suprise , you lot must be all car drivers, never seen on a bike, purposely trying to run people over , o well , cant expect too much class now a days, same old same old
but car drivers dont go on the pavement, thinking they can run red lights.its the cyclists who need training on the highway code, that was a pedestrian crossing he should of got off bike and walked, serves the twat right.
@rob123474 - haha... This happened to me a few days ago. Picked a friend up from the airport and stopped at a red. Guy was waiting and stood there the entire time. As soon as the light turned green for me to go he went out right in front of my car. Dunno what he was thinking, though I suppose he wasn't thinking at all.
Our buses have CCTV filming at various angles. Not only is it there to protect the driver and passengers, but it can record incidents that have happened in the vacinity of the bus, not to mention detering fraudulant claims from passengers.
Many commercial vehicles have recording equipment on board now - helps in any debates on who's caused an incident and also helps protect vehicle driver/crew in case of attack, etc.
If your driving a 40ton vehicle full of whiskey, etc, it gives a little 'comfort' to the driver
I really don't see anything wrong with filming your journey. I know people that get hit by someone else and 90% of the times the other person will lie their ass off to try and put the blame on you. With video evidence you never know when you'll need it to protect yourself from POS liers
Why didn't you stop? You were a witness with very useful evidence. If everyone acted like you then both parties in such instances would end up being jointly liable.
It's no longer, "BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING," now it's every tom, dick and harry are watching.
Having said that, I've been thinking of getting an in car dash cam to record just in case I get into an accident to have proof if the accident was not my fault.
this is why you shouldn't ride your bike on a sidewalk. if he was on the street following the laws thiss prly wouldn't have happened. But then again you never know!
@CaptainCocaine alright i can agree with that. however like i said the driver should have been observing her surroundings at bit more and the accident could have been avoided completely and the cyclists could have done the same thing. all you have to do is look around a bit and nearly every collision can be avoided.
I'm gonna clear this up because I actually live in Sudbury... The lane on the right turns right, whereas the lane on the left carries straight on and they have different traffic lights. The lane on the right had a red light, but the lane on the left had a green. The cyclist thought that because that car had stopped, it meant the other car would stop too and therefore assumed the pedestrian crossing would turn green. He started to cross, and boom. It's simple, in any situation, don't run a red.
I also hate the people who step off the curb when the light for cross traffic turns yellow. I have had people step off right in front of my vehicle when the light just turned yellow and I was clearing the intersection.
@richardspratley A little thought before you start typing maybe, I have cameras facing in all directions from my vehicle due to the "precious" cargo i transport
@MuddledMe it also can provid valuble evedence in court and can easily find who is at fault in a road traffic accident, having cameras in all 6 of my trucks has resulted in my drivers not taking risks, and not only that but in 2 cases in the last 12 months has led to one conviction of a car driver for dangerous driving and the other driver being cleared of blame for a crash for cash accident.
@richardspratley lol youre an idiot... next time you get in an accident and its defiantly not your fault, i hope the judge gives you the fault. filming your driving or riding is great. its for protection, and you have the right to...
@richardspratley They're not 'weirdos'. Having a dash cam lowers your insurance because you then have video evidence if you ever need to make a claim. Also, it's good to catch things like this in case you need to present evidence yourself for someone else.
@uzijn Exactly, when alot of motorists complain about high premium insurance but a simple camera can lower your insurance qoute, it is does not always work in the UK but it is a big go a head in america.
@Dopydoby , well said. I myself have a small camera on both the front and rear of my bicycle and they have come in handy in the past (not to mention providing great video). I am a safe cyclist and unlike this kid, follow every law on the street (via advice from local police officers). Problem is some drivers don't care and WILL run you down just because they don't like cyclists, even when you are following the law. That's not to say all drivers are that way, but enough to warrant my cameras.
@richardspratley can save ya from malicious prosecution. I have 2 on my car after a 4 wheeler disregarded traffic laws, (texting, driving & ran a red light) and slammed into my husbands semi, they tried to sue. Video showed the truth!
@richardspratley insurance purposes. My dad drives trucks for a uk frozen food company and all the trucks are fitted with cameras in case anyone crashes. It helps to show proof in the event of a crash as to whose fault it was.
guys this wasnt an annoying cyclist. just a stupid kid. annoying cyclists are the ones who ride on the road, but for some reason think they have the right of way at all times
That was really good for the lad that he had a chance to be in an accident and walk away completely fine, maybe he will be smarter now. He shouldn't have turned his head to the front, if he had only kept his head slightly to the left he would see the other car wasn't stopping and have a chance to stop himself.

STOP AT RED LIGHTS CYCLIST , WE DO NOT WANT YOUR BRAINS OVER THE BONNET OF OUR SHINY CAR .
rob123474 2 months ago

Would have been good if the cyclist died
DunKnowFam91 3 months ago
Why didn't you stop? You were a witness with very useful evidence. If everyone acted like you then both parties in such instances would end up being jointly liable.

It's no longer, "BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING," now it's every tom, dick and harry are watching.
Having said that, I've been thinking of getting an in car dash cam to record just in case I get into an accident to have proof if the accident was not my fault.
Pekabooicu 3 months ago
this is why you shouldn't ride your bike on a sidewalk. if he was on the street following the laws thiss prly wouldn't have happened. But then again you never know!

@CaptainCocaine alright i can agree with that. however like i said the driver should have been observing her surroundings at bit more and the accident could have been avoided completely and the cyclists could have done the same thing. all you have to do is look around a bit and nearly every collision can be avoided.

harrychown1989 4 months ago
I'm gonna clear this up because I actually live in Sudbury... The lane on the right turns right, whereas the lane on the left carries straight on and they have different traffic lights. The lane on the right had a red light, but the lane on the left had a green. The cyclist thought that because that car had stopped, it meant the other car would stop too and therefore assumed the pedestrian crossing would turn green. He started to cross, and boom. It's simple, in any situation, don't run a red.

Wow... look at all the safety nerds losing their shit. Do you tools wear helmet cams when you walk around as well?
richardspratley 4 months ago
@richardspratley Sorry richard you are totally wrong. Lots of cyclist & car drivers have cams, for the safety of others & them..
bazk666 4 months ago
I also hate the people who step off the curb when the light for cross traffic turns yellow. I have had people step off right in front of my vehicle when the light just turned yellow and I was clearing the intersection.

richardspratley 4 months ago
@richardspratley A little thought before you start typing maybe, I have cameras facing in all directions from my vehicle due to the "precious" cargo i transport
MuddledMe 4 months ago 46
@MuddledMe "precious" cargo ? weed? drugs? gold? diamonds? o.o bodys?
ELBON6 4 months ago
@MuddledMe what PRECIOUS cargo lol :D
totokickbutt 4 months ago
@MuddledMe it also can provid valuble evedence in court and can easily find who is at fault in a road traffic accident, having cameras in all 6 of my trucks has resulted in my drivers not taking risks, and not only that but in 2 cases in the last 12 months has led to one conviction of a car driver for dangerous driving and the other driver being cleared of blame for a crash for cash accident.

@richardspratley Once you realise how much road rage, accidents and staged crash there are on the road today then you'll understand why.
TangoR34 4 months ago
@richardspratley lol youre an idiot... next time you get in an accident and its defiantly not your fault, i hope the judge gives you the fault. filming your driving or riding is great. its for protection, and you have the right to...
MrNiggaaaaa 4 months ago
@richardspratley They're not 'weirdos'. Having a dash cam lowers your insurance because you then have video evidence if you ever need to make a claim. Also, it's good to catch things like this in case you need to present evidence yourself for someone else.
uzijn 4 months ago
@uzijn Exactly, when alot of motorists complain about high premium insurance but a simple camera can lower your insurance qoute, it is does not always work in the UK but it is a big go a head in america.

@richardspratley hey asshole welcome to the reality.
FrapsYou 4 months ago
@richardspratley What makes him a weirdo exactly..?
Anarchytwink 4 months ago
@richardspratley
Firstly, the filmer was not filming himself driving...he was filming what was in FRONT of his vehicle.
Secondly, You don't have to be a 'weirdo' to film around you in this 'Crash for Cash' age.
Dopydoby 3 months ago 2
@Dopydoby , well said. I myself have a small camera on both the front and rear of my bicycle and they have come in handy in the past (not to mention providing great video). I am a safe cyclist and unlike this kid, follow every law on the street (via advice from local police officers). Problem is some drivers don't care and WILL run you down just because they don't like cyclists, even when you are following the law. That's not to say all drivers are that way, but enough to warrant my cameras.
harshbarj 3 months ago
@richardspratley can save ya from malicious prosecution. I have 2 on my car after a 4 wheeler disregarded traffic laws, (texting, driving & ran a red light) and slammed into my husbands semi, they tried to sue. Video showed the truth!
sarita065 3 months ago
@richardspratley insurance purposes. My dad drives trucks for a uk frozen food company and all the trucks are fitted with cameras in case anyone crashes. It helps to show proof in the event of a crash as to whose fault it was.
jimbo80982 2 months ago
@richardspratley what's with people calling other people names when they don't know the facts?
MrDyndre 2 months ago
Yes the cyclist made the error but the driver of the car should be more aware of hazards and reaction time was poor...
MrBorderghost 4 months ago
he shouldnt be riding on the sidewalk anyway.

guys this wasnt an annoying cyclist. just a stupid kid. annoying cyclists are the ones who ride on the road, but for some reason think they have the right of way at all times

That was really good for the lad that he had a chance to be in an accident and walk away completely fine, maybe he will be smarter now. He shouldn't have turned his head to the front, if he had only kept his head slightly to the left he would see the other car wasn't stopping and have a chance to stop himself.
