It was in Lisbon, Portugal (Europe) :) I don't know why it is called "rock in rio" (the festival)...maybe because there's a river nearby (that separates Lisbon from other city)...

IMO, the artist can be more powerful in the studio then when performing live. I mean yeah, there are all the recording hardware stuff, but still the vocalist can use all of his vocals in recording a song as he don't have to sing like 20-30 songs continuously.
