This is amazing! Usually, after you learn all that vast theory, you ask: OK, what now, how do I use it in an actual playing? This was my case: playing on guitar, I stumbled on the stage when could pretty easily copy others' playing but was pretty lame in improvisations. That is when such lessons as yours become necessary. Thank you, sir! I have never met such easy and, at the same time, extremely useful lessons.
Superb. The scales and so on at the end are especially useful. That's a nice balance between demonstrating the music at full speed and providing the building-blocks in an understandable way.
very instrutive, we can learn a lot from your harmonies and scales constructions....good job....continue working and posting your lessons....God bless you....
thanks!!! I speak little english ok!!! but you tech me !!!!! and you are great!!! Im from ACAPULCO ,,,,,thank you for you videos!!!! Im learning so much!!!!!! sorry for my english!!!! GOD BLEES YOU TEACHER!!!!!! your friend palomo show!!!!!!

Hello Roger! I play i would say i'm an advanced amateur R&b,jazz, keyboards and piano. Over the last years i have been developing my ear more and stopped thinking in scales and just play what i hear. So...do you think when you play in these scales or do you analyze them later and name them. I would also understand to take the scales and practice them and let them flow into live performance as a result of that. Could you describe the process...thanks
@Lot2learn Great tutorial, thanks a lot for sharing that with us all!
At 3:12 you play C and F minor pentatonic which give a great effect. if we consider B to be the root (as the bass plays a groove on B7) C and F are "tension notes" respectively 9b and 5b. So the penta scales you play here starts on "tension notes". The 9# i.e D and the 13b i.e G are 2 other tension notes. Would you play D minor penta and/or G minor penta on this track ? would it sound as good as the 3:12 part? :-)
I have a question... When i try to do an improvisation, my best difficulties are not in the right hand. When i try to insert also chords (left hand) in my solo, i have often difficulties, cause maybe i think too much at the harmony. So it happens that i lose myself in the song and the quality is much poor!!! I don't know if i am clear enough :) The question is: "can you give me some advice to improve this skill?? (Do chords in the right time, follow the harmony and do solo at the same time)
Well, maybe lovely's not the right word. It's funky.
I'm pleased to see that I must be an "intermediate" player as I can imagine playing this myself. I usually watch these videos and wonder just how many years it will take me to emulate them!
im a beginner is there anyway you can make a slower speed video of this? thanks!
