Even when TOTP2 show this as part of their Eurovision specials, they try and make out that it was a cover of a Kylie song. It wasn't. The only thing it had in common was the title.

I agree Sonia was a great singer, but to say that she deserved to win that years title is crazy... It was a blatant rip off of Kylie Minogue's song and there was no originality in the lyrics or the tune..... Back then it was all about the song ... the the "air-quote-glam" and therefore Ireland totally deserved to win.... Our country's song writers produced heart melting songs for a time that appreciated the quality of a lyric

I don't think this at alöl deserved 2nd place.. It was many way better sings that ended in the lower opart of the result list, like Belgium, Croatia, Bosnia-hercegovina, Turkey, Germany for example...

I know understand why Holland ended 6th. The Dutch had a rather bad draw after the over-catchy United Kingdom. Sad, but it's a fact.
