my great grandmother was a hindu afghan and she married my great grandfather who was pashtun from jalalabad (her father and mother weren't against the marriage although it was against their own religion I supposed but I don't think they were that religious) and there was never a problem between pashtuns and sikhs. it was the northern alliances in afghanistan who were predominantly non-pashtun who persecuted sikhs. not the pashtuns.

India is a true friend of Afghanistan. I never ever heard of any criminal or warlord sikh/hindoe in Afghanistan. As far as I am concerned Hindu and Sikhs are real Afghans and should be embraced instead of prosecuted. Instead of killing they only did honest and valuable business as far as I know. With all due respect to you, I think you are the only educated person to say this. I am appalled at your statement which you have made so confidently. I won't comment about your view about Hindu religion as it is your personal opinion. In my opinion, current Hinduism is not the homogeneous religion and is result of lots of Dravidian-Mongoloid-Indo-Austr­aloid beliefs incorporated in the Vedic religion.

@shubroto81 Anyways; almost half of the part of present day Afghanistan (Kabul and Southwards) had been Hindu-Buddhist while other part was under the influence of Proto Iranic and then Zoroastrianism religions. Vedas were composed in Afghanistan. Kabul was a Hindu state til 9th century. You can still find lots of antiques, ruins, coins from the Hindu-Buddhist era Afghanistan. A little less than half the country was Hindu, but still was the main religion in Afghanistan prior, but not limited to the year 642. At the end of the Islamic conquests, in and around, but again, not limited to 870, Islam took over and conquered the area known today as Afghanistan. It took until the early 11th C. to fully have under control.
