Ive owned loads of both Toyotas and German cars, a few Americans too. I always found the German stuff to be unreliable and vastly overrated, the jap stuff boring and uninspiring and the American stuff a bit bullish and crude...
Hahahahahahahaha, this has got to be the biggest joke I have ever seen. You are really behind on your research. Just look at Consumer Reports! We also had an F-150 which had almost 200,000 miles, and not one problem. As for you, go do YOUR HOMEWORK! LOL!
I had a 1993 Buick Roadmaster with 325k on it. All the money I put into it was routine repairs. Had it for nine years. When i traded it in, it was bought for use as a cab. It is still on the road today!!!!
All this guy can say is that American cars suck. he's not going to give us any facts other than what CR tells him. I can't belive he actually belives that EVERY single Toyota EVER made had perfect reliability.
My dad's Volvo 850 has 315,000 miles on it even though CR said it had below average reliability. And there are two guys who own Silverados with 1 million miles on them.
For years Consumer Reports would recommend the Toyota Matrix but not the Pontiac Vibe. They are sisters; built at the same Fremont Cal. assembly plant. what gives?
If you really knew what you're talking about, you'd know Cadillac, Mercury and Buick beat Honda and Toyota in JD Power's latest dependability survey. The Prius has new technology that hasn't been proven. Your friends have only had their Priuses for <5 years, because that's when a hybrid battery needs to be replaced, & the battery costs more than the car is worth at that point, so nobody ever keeps their Priuses past 5 yrs, which has been proven to be the point where the most problems begin.

Stop being so ignorant and fucking drive an American car. Stop believeing everything you hear.

Consumer Reports is the most biased magazine published, and if you don't even realize that, then I'm wasting my time with you.

Consumer reports claims the prius has excellent reliability and say it's their top pick hybrid car.
They lie.
