I think in addition to the feminist slant of the plight of all women, this song also speaks to anyone who has ever felt they were a fish out of water. "...that empty air, like stepping for a missing stair..."
@pacocrowley No problem. :) Knowing the meaning of the name made this song so much more interesting and meaning for me as well.
In Ireland, colleen is a word usually referred to young girls who are not women yet. The use as Colleen as a name originated in the U.S. from Irish immigrants, not from Ireland itself. Saying that she was named Colleen is saying she became a girl or child again. Also it could mean that once she forgot everything, she became an anonymous girl.
@SpringSkies Thank you for letting us know of such a lovely thing! Since it's an Irish culture thing, it makes sense that this song sounds inspired from Celtic music, or so it seems to me.
The energy of this song is awe inspiring!

I am so, so in love with this, my spine felt cold and I paralysed. This is like music created by ethereal beings, elven girls.
I wonder what instruments have been used for this song...

Colleen = Girl in Irish.
This song seems to entail the plight of all Colleens, or all girls in the world.
My name is Colleen. :)

@SpringSkies Wow, I didn't know that! It has a more complete meaning (for me) now. Thanks for sharing that.
