Few things annoy me more than how people are constantly mentioning that the Tec-9 was used in Columbine, as if we don't know that by now.

This isn't a sleight against you, it's against the people who act like that information is somehow relevant. I agree with you; not a "great" gun overall, but extremely fun to take to the range.

you oughta get the Interdynamic KG9, open bolt. I found one for sale and they are extremely rare because of their ability to go full auto easily!

@vonhismean yeah they are very rare. They were made in the early 1980's and look just like the TEC9(which came much later) and have an "open bolt" . They were banned because of their ease to be converted to fire "full auto", but anything made before January 19, 1982 was grandfathered in and A.T.F. let those go(like the Open Bolt M.A.C.'s). Sweet gun, saw one for sale on gunbroker recently

i have a tec 9 i got it from this old guy on my block he need some money because work was slow i paid 100 $ for it works great i us usmc ammo in bluck and wolf ammo in bulk works great just dont keep the mags full i always have them empty tell i hit the range. there 32 round mags they came with the gun. only problem i have is its really dirty it holds grease its like the old guy cleaned it with used motor oil. i didnt even know what a tec was untell i got on you tube.

is yours at least semi reliable? when i bought mine it shot 3 shells in a row and then jammed. so i pulled it apart as best as i could and cleaned and lubed it. and now it shoots once and jams... any suggestions besides filing the mag and high grain ammo?

@koryguns Aside from what you said I have no other suggestions except taking it to a gunsmith and maybe having them look at it. I haven't had any major problems with it.

Its a U.S. made gun, I simply DO NOT like it because its known as a criminals weapon, a weapon of choice by gangs. It was never a military weapon, and everytime I see this weapon it reminds me of Columbine. I would choose an M1 Garand or a Mauser over it.

The TEC-9 was intended as a cheap submachine gun based on the Carl Gustaf M/45 for military applications. But Interdynamic AB was unable to generate interest among governments. That's it. :)

all intratecs were made in miami, florida (as it says right on the mag well). they bought the patent from interdynamics of sweden (it's basically a kg99 copy under license). you better keep it very clean with solvent or it'll turn to shit. rather than dry firing it, buy dummy rounds with spring caps to keep that firing pin in tact.
