I got in to an okay state college with an 1830 and I'm part of a health sciences program which is ranked within the top 5 in the nation.
I did shit poor on the SAT and I made it on the Golden Key Honor society (4.0), by Junior Year University.Basically, if you learn slower (via verbal/rote instruction), you will do poorly on the SAT. My problem (disability) is related to verbal processing, so I've always struggled to learn from books and lectures. I scored in the average range on a couple of school administered IQ tests, but I was told my IQ was (probably) higher, because my disability interferes with conventional measurements.

I received a 1490 SAT score but also took 2 SAT subject tests. I received a 600 on my SAT Math Level 2 and a 530 on my U.S. History test. I graduated with a High School GPA of about 3.7 in 2010. I am an Eagle Scout and took community college and honor courses. I am done with my 1st year at UCR. Also, UCR is a selective campus like the University of Arizona. UCR offers a decent education like other UC schools. A low SAT score is not the end of life. You can still get into a good college.

I don't care what people say when they say that SAT scores don't matter. It's an apitude test. When you take two people who are exactly the same when it comes to motivation, study habits and determination, the student who has the higher SAT score is more valuable as a member of society and as part of the workforce.

I got a 2400 when I was in high school. It not REALLY hard if you get your definitions and writing skills down. And if you have a Calculus calculator, you can finish the math sections in 20 minutes.

@WhatTheCucumber Sigh. Let me offer you some advice so you can troll better next time. Before you troll youtube and brag about your fake 2400, know what it takes to get 2400. Using a calculator will not help you finish the paper faster. It does not matter what type of calculator you use. After you read the question and pick up your calculator, you would have solved it mentally already, assuming of course you are at the 2400 level.
to be fair this is true, im in a college in australia now, i was smart enough to wing all my exams and get in the best architecture school in the country, but my work ethics shit and my marks have nosedived since i got in, feels bad, man; guessing this applies to the sat too
the sat is doesnt recognize how smart you are. I got a 1600 on the sats but im in AP physics, AP Stat, and BC calculus. Dont worry if you dont do well... you can still make it into a great college if you have the other stuff.

i had a 2.7 and didn't give a shit about school. My parents got pissed and forced me to go to sat prep classes for most of my junior year. I got a 2040 on the test and am set on going to UC riverside.
I disagree on one part in the fact that the SAT and ACT do reflect intelligence. There are anomalies, but the score is hard to ignore. Smarter kids generally score higher and that is why these are used as benchmark scores for colleges to determine which students they accept. However, it is true that a low score doesn't mean you'll fail in life. After dropping out of school, you can be a plumber or something. And no, that job isn't bad. It can support a good life despite the misconception.

my sat score is very good. however, i have the worst organization known to man and plenty of people with lower sat scores have a higher gpa than me. also, i know people with very low scores who will likely be more successful than me because they have such amazing social skills and drive

I've taken two college prep. courses for this test...in addition to reading three different books, so I should be pretty well prepared next year. Not to mention I'm taking the PSATs this year.
I took the SAT once back in 2003 and I got a 1020 / 1600 without any prep or giving a shit. That was good enough to get me into college and now I have a B.S. in computer science. Stop sweating it people.
College is what you make of it. And if you end up studying CS at a college that isn't well known, you make sure the major is ABET accredited so that it meets a certain standard. For technical degrees, it really doesn't matter where you go and starting salaries are indeed similar. As for the outsourcing comment, was that supposed to be a personal attack or what?

Well back then it was easy too into college, and even now with the economy the scale is going down due too low admission rates. If this video was truly telling the truth, then there wouldn't be a need for the SAT's. People wouldn't have to study their ass off too get into the top colleges, which is to get a good job, and just showing you can do the work or at least motivation matters most.

well, in order to get over 2200 on the sat, ppl have to put effort into it. it's not likely that someone can get over 2200 without putting any effort. i guess that the collegeboard thinks that the ones who are willing to study for the sat tend to be the hard working ones and show their seriousness about going to colleges; and thus, they may be successful in college with this aptitude.
when people say it doesn't matter they mean you can still succeed in college and life as long as you're motivated. I received a very low SAT but had a high h.s. and college GPA and now have the opportunity of transfering to either UCLA, Yale, ASU, or FSU.
SATs are everything. You fail and you fail in life too. You wont get into a good college without a good score. I know this person who scored a 670 on the SATs, and she failed in getting into Cornell. Everyone is tested the same under the same conditions, so if you dont do well. you'll fail later on too. Now, colleges see allyour SAT scores and if one sucks, you wont have a good reputation on your college admission. Take it in the 8th grade when it doesnt count as a practice.

My IQ is above average. I usuallly get a 125-130 on the iq tests. However, my sat's are at the average standard (500 each section). A good sat score is the result of honest, hardworking years of acquired knowledge, K-11 grade.
I am a transfer student from an out of state college . Admissions did not really care about the sat because i showed i was good at doing college work and i received an associate's degree before transfer.

The SAT is a joke and they should honestly stop giving them. The SAT measures nothing but how well you can do questions that college students cant answer within a time frame of 3 hours and 45 minutes.
Not all the time, but this video does have some truth in saying the SAT's don't always acurately indicate IQ, college & stuff. Friends I know have done well on subjects they pretty much don't do great in, & the opposite in stuff they do do well in.

It's basically this standardized test that combines simple knowledge but a twisted method of asking questions. They pretty much make or break your chances of getting into colleges with elitist-attitudes.

I disagree on one part in the fact that the SAT and ACT do reflect intelligence. There are anomalies, but the score is hard to ignore. Smarter kids generally score higher and that is why these are used as benchmark scores for colleges to determine which students they accept. However, it is true that a low score doesn't mean you'll fail in life. After dropping out of school, you can be a plumber or something. And no, that job isn't bad. It can support a good life despite the misconception.

that's not true the SAT is a system were anyone can get the 2400 its the same questions just changed up even the essay part is easy I seen SATs from past years to know and there all the same, you just have to practice.

my sat score is very good. however, i have the worst organization known to man and plenty of people with lower sat scores have a higher gpa than me. also, i know people with very low scores who will likely be more successful than me because they have such amazing social skills and drive
also, i recommend that those who do poorly on the sat try the act. i have many friends who scored much higher on that

What is this video implying? That kissing the teachers butt all day to get an A is a good way to show how smart a person is? The SAT is great because if you slack off freshman year or have freaky teachers you can show how smart and dedicated you really are. Who cares about organization? They want students winning noble prizes, not becoming house maids.

I've taken two college prep. courses for this test...in addition to reading three different books, so I should be pretty well prepared next year. Not to mention I'm taking the PSATs this year.

I took the SAT once back in 2003 and I got a 1020 / 1600 without any prep or giving a shit. That was good enough to get me into college and now I have a B.S. in computer science. Stop sweating it people.

College is what you make of it. And if you end up studying CS at a college that isn't well known, you make sure the major is ABET accredited so that it meets a certain standard. For technical degrees, it really doesn't matter where you go and starting salaries are indeed similar. As for the outsourcing comment, was that supposed to be a personal attack or what?
You don't need to be the smartest, just smart enough.

you're not going to get into Harvard with a measly 2100 unless you have crazy extracurriculars, are a legacy, or are black.

Well back then it was easy too into college, and even now with the economy the scale is going down due too low admission rates. If this video was truly telling the truth, then there wouldn't be a need for the SAT's. People wouldn't have to study their ass off too get into the top colleges, which is to get a good job, and just showing you can do the work or at least motivation matters most.
The U.S education system is by far the most hypothetical in my opinion.

well, in order to get over 2200 on the sat, ppl have to put effort into it. it's not likely that someone can get over 2200 without putting any effort. i guess that the collegeboard thinks that the ones who are willing to study for the sat tend to be the hard working ones and show their seriousness about going to colleges; and thus, they may be successful in college with this aptitude.

My first best low SAT score was 1290,second 1170 and third SAT score was 1260.
The highest score in 2400.Over all in my third SAT I got a higher Critical score and a 10 essay because of SAt Preparation classes.

when people say it doesn't matter they mean you can still succeed in college and life as long as you're motivated. I received a very low SAT but had a high h.s. and college GPA and now have the opportunity of transfering to either UCLA, Yale, ASU, or FSU.

SATs are everything. You fail and you fail in life too. You wont get into a good college without a good score. I know this person who scored a 670 on the SATs, and she failed in getting into Cornell. Everyone is tested the same under the same conditions, so if you dont do well. you'll fail later on too. Now, colleges see allyour SAT scores and if one sucks, you wont have a good reputation on your college admission. Take it in the 8th grade when it doesnt count as a practice.

My IQ is above average. I usuallly get a 125-130 on the iq tests. However, my sat's are at the average standard (500 each section). A good sat score is the result of honest, hardworking years of acquired knowledge, K-11 grade.

I am a transfer student from an out of state college . Admissions did not really care about the sat because i showed i was good at doing college work and i received an associate's degree before transfer.

The SAT is a joke and they should honestly stop giving them. The SAT measures nothing but how well you can do questions that college students cant answer within a time frame of 3 hours and 45 minutes.

Not all the time, but this video does have some truth in saying the SAT's don't always acurately indicate IQ, college & stuff. Friends I know have done well on subjects they pretty much don't do great in, & the opposite in stuff they do do well in.
I mean, it's standardized, so you really just can't stuff every kid in the world underneath it's defining scores

It's basically this standardized test that combines simple knowledge but a twisted method of asking questions. They pretty much make or break your chances of getting into colleges with elitist-attitudes.

that's right, aim low. the sat is actually an iq test, that's why repeat testing has little to no impact on scores. an individual's iq is constant
