  • The backing track is Stormy Monday made famous by the Allman Brothers and written by T-Bone Walker. Sounds great man!!!

  • Hey man awesome vid! can u plz e-mail me the link to get this backing track and possibly others. btw such a beautiful sound =]

  • definitely blues!

love your tone and playin'; well done!

  • Thanks!

  • where did you get that sexy backing track?

  • I'll email you the link since Youtube won't allow links in the comments ...

  • @cmartinrel would mind emaling me that link too? And btw I consider this blues. What makes it not sound like blues to you? I'd love to know. Thanks

    Happy New Year

  • It´s ebony,,,, only custom les pual´s have ebony fretboard,,, standards ebony lp´s come with rosewood fretboard... Nice tone,,,, I´m saving to buy a custom epi lp elitist that they have in a store near my house for. $700!!!! Can´t wait to get it,,, it comes with SR60- SR50 pups, i dont even care what they sound like,,, the guitar is simply impresive, in honeyburst colur....... I´ll post a vid when I get it.

  • $700 is a great deal for one of this. Snatch it up while you can!

  • @alfons1976 thats not true (about the fretboard). if you get a Les Paul studio in Alpine White or in Silverburst, you get an ebony fretbaord

  • nice guitar which is the name of the color model?

  • This is an Epiphone Elitist Les Paul. I don't know what the official color is called, since I didn't buy it new. Since it doesn't have ebony fretboard, I'm guessing it is not "Ebony." Probably just "black."

  • Nice playin man, keep the vids coming.

  • Thanks man! I just started taking lessons to improve my skills, so hopefully I'll have new licks to post soon.

By the way, you're awesome! I just subscribed to your channel.

  • super...i,m happy :)

  • Hey, thanks!

  • this will b my next axe!! but i will swap the pu's out for a '57 classic in the neck and classic plus bridge...I already have the 490r and 498t in my '07 heritage cherry SG standard. I just cant see paying $2800 for a gibson when u could get 1 of these

  • I agree; the value of these is incredible. Thanks for commenting!

  • Nice job! Great tone on that Epi man. I also own a Elitist Les Paul. Anyway, I also noticed that you used the Let's Jam Backing track Blues in Slow G that I also jam too a lot with my epi! I love using the neck and putting it through my blues jr with some subtle growl courtesy of a Barber Direct Drive. Very nice and great taste. Even the backing track, hehe.

  • Thanks! I can imagine that backing track would sound perfect alongside a Les Paul and a Blues Jr.

  • They call it stormy monday... Nice man

  • lol reminds me of old time rock n' roll! and yes its amazing!

  • dude, the most beautiful sound in any music is blues, but only from an LP. aahh, makes me feel good.

  • Your music its what i was looking for I was trying to decide between an SG or a Les Paul for blues. I finally decided, Les Paul it is!

  • Great! Les Paul is an awesome guitar for blues! If I had it all to do over again, I might have bought an SG--I feel like playing AC/DC more often than the blues. Now I just have to convince my wife that buying another guitar is NOT a crazy idea!

  • How did you get a black epiphone les paul elitiest?

  • They don't make these anymore. I bought mine used off of Ebay.

  • Hello cmartinrel

you replaced the pickups by 490/498.

Why? 50SR/60ST the pickups are of low quality?

What is the sound of the original pickups?

  • No, these pickups are original--I contacted Gibson and found out that the 50/60 pair is exactly the same as the 490/498 pair.

  • ... no they're not! The 490/498 and the 50/60 pups sound completely different.

  • I haven't done a side-by-side comparison, but I choose to believe what the Gibson rep told me.

  • That is quite odd. Although the pickups that are fitted into the Elitists are made in USA, they are still Epiphone pickups that are Gibson-designed. It's odd that Gibson told you they are the same as the 490/498's. Damn Gibson and their tricks! :O

  • I've heard they are made at a Gibson factory, but who knows? I don't really care all that much about it; I like the sound of the pickups for the most part.
