too bad none of these colombian strikers can actually score on their national team, it's the reason colombia is in a bad position to qualify to the WC, if they had atleast one striker that could consistently make plays and score, just one!, they would easily be in the top 3 of in south america right now because they have arguably the best defense in south america, their Goal difference though doesn't show that because they can't score.

If you have never seen any Juan Pablo's goal with the colombian team...now it's time for you to look on intenet cause he scored as wellas the other strikers, but the problem is that every three or four games, the couch was changed...this doesn't grant any team in the world to qualify to any tournament...

hell no, we had good mixture of midfield during qualifications for Korea-Japan 2002 and Germany 2006, and Angel was the striker with more appeareances and he played more minutes than any other striker, he started if not in all the matches, almost all.. with poor goal overall and not being relevant, and that's why I can't see him as a great striker, he couldn't dribble anyone, all his goals were headers. 33 appeareances, 9 goals (most of them really irrelevant, scored to peru). very poor

Not entirely Angel's fault. The coach would use him as a lone striker and Colombia has never had a number 10 since Valderrama to deliver good balls up top. I rememeber him scoring against Brazil and Argentina also.

Asprilla is not crap at all, he's the best Colombian forward ever, n' all Colombian real football fans agree on that. Asprilla, Adolfo Valencia (former Bayern Munich player), Angel along with three old local players Iguarán, De Avila and Willington Ortiz (you can find videos of them on youtube too) are the best Colombian forwards of all times. I know most of you aren't interested in Colombian football, but as a Colombian I can't accept that Asprilla is crap.

great video of an amaaazing player! hes doin fantastic in america now and he deserves to, hes even got the MLS record of scoring in 7 games in a row. we released him at a good time in his career as he was getting too old for the premiership but still able to offer someone else his fantastic talents and NYRB have got a great player now. one of the best villa players ever, it was just bad managers that ruined him and stopped him from been even better*cough*graham taylor, david o leary *cough*
