Just in case some of you are kids who don't know any better or are just complete morons, the U.S. didn't "lose" Vietnam. The U.S. pulled out to let the South Vietnamese do the fighting. Big difference between putting out the white flag and letting those boys over there do their own fighting. U.S. lost nearly 59,000, Vietnam lost an estimated 1,000,000. Not to mention the innocent citizens trapped in the middle. It was an incredible waste of human life for both sides and very sad indeed.

We didn't do nothing, though, we shipped weapons and supplies to Britain and her allies. Once Japan attacked, you're right, we had no other option, because we didn't want to all end up speaking Japanese. We beat Japan with a little bit of help from Australia, but no one else. And Patton (an American General) was instrumental in beating Germany.

Once we get to more modern times, WW1 was won once America joined in, America didn't join in when WW1 was won. America also cleaned house in WW2, fighting a war on 2 fronts and STILL winning. Korea and Vietnam were all primarily American operations, as was desert storm.
