  • Mister Cash R.I.P

  • my heroes

  • WOW! Amazing.

  • Two cooler guys never walked the face ofthe earth. Love you!

  • R.I.P. Joe

  • great men i can truly say that i love with all my heart. i've been listening to them all for almost 15 years now. they have molded me from the way i think all the way to how i dress. now believe it or not but i'm sitting in my room right now and they are all here. i have my giant amazing bob marley poster covering my wall, then i look to my right and see a picture of johnny taped to my guitar staring back at me, then i look down at my london calling shirt like a sheild over my heart. my saviours

  • Would it be okay to refer to this as "Cash with The Clash"? :) Has a nice ring to it, even if it's just one band member.

  • I don't know why but i really like Joe Strummer's voice here, it's sounds quite raspy but i really like it.

This is probably my favourite song of all time...

  • Tam na górze to mają kapele...

  • :'(

  • Good work fella.

  • ahhhh ...music...this is tops

  • Pure talent, all three of them.

  • Joe holds his end up real well, don't you think?

Must've felt like an acolyte at the feet of the master. Weird he's also dead.

    Guess I'm getting old..

  • This is a fucking amazing. R.I.P BOB MARLEY, R.I.P JOHNNY CASH & R.I.P JOE STRUMMER. THE TRUE LEGENDS OF MUSIC.

  • bet johnny and bob are jammin up there in heaven with jesus :D

  • I think this is a good and true tribute to the memory of one great artist performed by two revolutionary artists in their own right. what's to not like?

  • Legendary.

    Its johnny clash =D

  • ill take this over bob marley anyday

  • wow never thought cash covered this! love cash and marley even if it seems they're far apart but i guess liberty and freedom are universal

  • @butobuto1 probably more alike than most ppl think pure music & musicians have no genre

  • @playthevideo34

    AMEN!

  • @butobuto1

They are more alike than most of us thought.

The Emperor of American Music sings the King of Reggae, with a Prince of Punk. (Sorry, the King is still Joey Ramone). If Joey hadn't died and Joey so soon after, I am sure they would have collaborated on something great. I guess I'll have to be good and check out their show in Heaven!

    Why is anyone surprised?

  • @haitipi he wasn't the prince, he was the freakin punk rock warlord

  • @haitipi Though the King of Rock and Roll is Iggy Pop.

  • 7 people are Old Pirates & Merchants =P

  • one of the finest song i heard from johnny

saw him about 20 years back in ostend belgium

    truly beautiful

  • Johnny Cash, Joe Strummer in the most beautifull Bob Marley song, what can we say except "lengendary"?

  • thank you so so much mate for posting this song

  • man was it just me that cryed to this song?

  • @MultiKubrik no I did

  • I always scream Joe's part.Seems suitable for him.

  • I know that all three artists oppossed racism and the oppression around it.Joe Strummer and Jimmy Cliff recorded a song." Over the border".There is no need for any form of hate in todays world with people dying every day in wars.Should we not be fighting that and accomplish what all three legends set out to do.We should pay attention to the lyrics and not the Legends singing it.Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery none but ourselves can free our minds.

  • wow . even in his old age johnnys voice eclipses jo strummers ! hated j.cash country style but love all t later stuff. if you like this listen to him do 'i see a darkness'.........

  • An American Profit and a Punk Rock War-Lord

  • Bob Marley, sung by Johnny Cash and Joe Strummer. How can you get any better? I mean, seriously, only a guitar solo by Hendrix could make this better. :)

  • @VitaminJoint That version is being played up in Rock N' Roll heaven, Hendrix on guitar, Keith Moon on Bongos, John Lennon on Piano and Elvis on backing vocals.....!!!

  • @VitaminJoint

AHAHAHAHAHAAH. solo by Hendrix on this song would probably make the universe implode.

  • @username91ification bla bla bla

  • @KarlitospunkOi

I expressed a personal opinion, in good humor.

If it bothers you, you can kindly go fuck yourself with a drill bit.

  • Bob Marley got this so called american heroes copying !! hahaha sad

  • A tribute to Bob by two legens in their own right! Love them all!

  • Two of the most influential people in the history of music, thank you for putting this up.

  • @spectre0075 I presume you are referring to my initial query, which was never adequately answered.

  • @spectre0075 Yeah? Thanks for the predictable, immature info!

  • Amazing version by two complete and utter legends!!!! those who do not like this obviously know nothing about proper fucking music.....twats!!!

  • This so awesome...

  • haha. what a bunch of dick wads. Ever heard a black person sing Amazing Grace? You know, the song written by the repentant slave trader.

  • Fuck you if you want to talk about money... this is two heros

  • Joe did actually meet and stay with him before just before he died, a picture of this is on the 12 inch Cover-kinda sweet-2 incredible redemptive soul rebels-Im sure they will meet in heaven Johny Cash confessed faith in Christ-lets hope Joe did!! ??? I love them both-kindred spirits!!

  • Love them. Joe and Johnny are both legends and their music will live on forever....

  • This is great, R.I.P Johns

  • great tune with two great heroes johnny was the first punk that ever truly lived, i pray that i get to meat him after this life is over

  • Brilliant

  • Two greats two photographs BOTH SMOKING !!

    Both DEAD !!

  • three idiots dislikes this song

  • @agakeso Hey but more than 3 idiots like it! So that's a result eh?

  • this song is amazing even if they didnt record its still an amazing song sung bye amazing people

  • RIP Joe, RIP Johnny, RIP Bob.

I love all of you very much

  • smoking is cool!

  • How cool were these two guys?!?!

  • @828sim I beg to differ on that, I love both johnny cash and joe strummer and yeh they did this song justice but theres no way you can say they did it better than the guy whose song this is in the first place. bob marley is/was an outstanding person and musician, joe and johnny both recognized that which they even covered his song. which is why TONS of people cover this song, its beautiful and the person who originally sang it laid foundation.

  • @door2yourheart and speaking of "squeezing a few more bucks" out of dead musicians, what the hell do you thinks been done to bob marley

  • @door2yourheart

you know joe strummer was turkish, right? sure they're not both "black guys" but maybe they know how to pay homage to someone outside their own race. they recognize bob marley as a legend, and both johnny cash and joe strummer are legends themselves. this rendition combines all three iconic musicians, and if you can't see or understand that then maybe you're the one who needs to learn respect.

  • @AnnaAntifa614 Actually Joe Strummer wasn't Turkish. He was born in Ankara, but that's cause his family moved around a lot for his father's job. They also lived in Cairo and Mexico City for awhile. He was a quarter Indian, though. Anyway I agree, it shouldn't and doesn't matter at all what race he is--- amazing no matter what.

  • @PittsburghGirl92 Seems like he had a pretty middle class background then!

  • it's a very very very very great song

  • R.I.P. johnny, joe & bob you were 3 of the greatest ever

  • On of the greatest songs ever. These three legendary people RIP Joe Strummer Johnny cash , Bob Marley for your influential words

  • legendary song two legendary people RIP Joe Strummer, Bob Marley, And Johnny Cash. All musical Legends

  • cool fuckers these two

  • Joe Strummer is a legend. The 101'ers were awesome, the Clash were awesome, the Mescaleros were awesome and his solo work was awesome.

  • johnny is cooler thoug i like clash better

  • 2 Legends sing a GREAT song.. sadly their not with us anymore.. but always remembered .. but this song will never be forgotten :)

  • @laurencelake007 3 legends, Bob is one to.

  • Briliant human beings! ,,People can do anything, and I mean everything.people have been dehumanized, put humanity back into people!-Joe Strummer

  • One of Marley's best songs sung by two legends. God Bless them all for they are all off this planet.

  • @door2yourheart You know nothing about Cash's American Recordings, do you? Fuck off.

  • @dnzg66 OK, so can you tell me please, did Joe Strummer and Johnny Cash actually collaborate, i.e. record this together when both were alive? Answer please, then i'll fuck off!!

  • @door2yourheart They did record this together when they were alive. Strummer was also recording with Reubin at the time -- it's not a stretch of the imagination to think of these two getting together to record a song like this.

I'm awaiting your proof that they didn't. Seems to me that you've got nothing better to do than troll here.

  • @dnzg66 You still provide no proof then? as for trolling, its been many months since i visited this post, I lost interest long ago! Thanks for your fervent interest though!

  • @door2yourheart I've got just as much proof as you do. You see, the burden of proof lies with you, the accuser, not with me.

  • @dnzg66 Read back, very carefully! I never accused, i just questioned! Answer came there not!

  • @door2yourheart Wrong. We answered your post. You just chose to ignore the answer, like a dickwad, and stubbornly stick to your own false beliefs. Go fuck off.

  • @dnzg66 You deluded little shit! There never was an answer to my enquiry, just presumptuous statements about how they might have! Fucking idiot boy!

What confuses me though is that two very pale faced, icons to some, recite the line; 'pirates yes they rob I, sold I to the merchant ships' . Great song, but weird from these two posers!

  • @door2yourheart wanker

  • @dicehybrid tut

  • @door2yourheart You make it werid by livin in ur fuckin box that says people are differnt and cannot have the same feelings as one another, he uses the slave ships as a methaphore. saying that he was saved by somthing that enslaved him.

  • @sexmeup8 Get a grown up to help you with your spelling, grammar and what you actually intend to communicate!

However, I DO actually know what this great song is about, thank you!

  • @dnzg66 So you still have no proof then, just your reply? As for trolling, it has been many months since i commented on this post, i lost interest with all the idiotic comments!

Thanks for your keen input non the less!

  • @dnzg66 OK dickhead, seeing as you haven't replied to my question, i can only presume that you don't know the answer! Therefore my initial presumption still stands unless you can prove otherwise!

  • @door2yourheart in what way was this made to "squeeze a few more bucks"? i highly doubt this song made any difference to the sales of the unearthed album (which happened to have 4 discs full of songs)

and what difference does it make if they both sat and recorded this together? strummer and cash were good friends so it's quite possible that maybe they would have had they not both died.

  • @door2yourheart nothing? but yet all three of your comments were hanging on the fact that they didn't actually sit in a studio together and record this? k.

  • @door2yourheart Strummers version of this is absolutely staggering you clown

  • @scottrMUFC Joe did actually meet and stay with him before just before he died, a picture of this is on the 12 inch Cover-kinda sweet-2 incredible redemptive soul rebels-Im sure they will meet in heaven Johny Cash confessed faith in Christ-lets hope Joe did!! ??? I love them both-kindred spirits!!

  • @door2yourheart Strummer was planning on making a duet with Cash and had recorded his vocals to send to cash when he died before his album was finished. This is a realisation of what Joe wanted.

  • @tkcomune Aaah at last! Thank you for your sensible informed reply! I gave up on the other idiots!

  • @door2yourheart

They didnt have the time to get together just before Joe died so they sang the song n agreed it was good to go you filthy piece of shit, Joe used to go and watch Johnny record and take notes, if i could ever meet up with ou i'd waste you, get some knowledge before you comment ya dick

  • @STRUMMER772003 Many thanks for your helpful contribution. Much appreciated!

  • @STRUMMER772003 Would be more than happy to meet up by the way!

  • @door2yourheart your a mug pal enjoy the tune for t masterpiece it is this version has more soul and feeling than the marley version ever had

  • @828sim I agree, the song is a "masterpiece", but Johnny and Strummer are just paying homage to it, and they both probably realised that.

So seeing as this is 2 white guys singing about being 'sold to the merchant ships' and extolling the need to celebrate 'freedom', where does the 'soul' and 'feeling' come in? They have no history of slavery, so can only repeat the lyrics. In Strummers case, quite dead pan, and as usual, just trying to be cool!

Ur comment regarding soul/feeling is ridiculous.

  • i'm so glad to met thier this song but so sad cause them both dead ,

  • this a such a great song.... i cried the first time i heard tis...

  • @DifferantProd likewise

  • WOW, VERY IMPRESSIVE!

  • tssssssssssssssss! vor a llorar!

  • please redem me

  • Great song and absolutely awesome doubled pic. Thanks.

  • two greats do it well...bob is probally getting them for a trio in heaven!!!!!

  • JOE AND JOHNNY FOREVER IN MY HEART!!

  • bob marleys version is better, but cash is cool too

  • whoever glued this together great idea it sounds seemless

  • @hanghang71 i could be wrong but im pretty sure i remember reading somewhere that it was cash that put this together, him and joe had planned to do it together but joe passed away a few weeks before they actually got to it - so cash decided to do this in memory of joe. of course it could all be bollocks and i was lied to but i like to beleive that.

  • @AcousticSolo me too

  • thanks.. great upload.. Joe, alongside Johnny, what more can we ask for..

  • @ABITTERSWEETGIRL pluss another legends son

  • Joe Strummer is one of, if not my only, hero. I like a few Johnny Cash songs but not enough to really say I like him. I think this is really fucking cool though cuz both of them were extremely wise men who had been through a lot. Their voices compliment each other extremely well.

  • uomini del 900

  • cash strummer - the r-song AND MUFC!!!

  • @lowfuellevel wtf has that to do with the song?

  • @lowfuellevel wtf does that have to do with this song?

  • @lowfuellevel joe strummer didnt die of smoking you bellend, and technically never did jonny cash. RIP.

  • @lowfuellevel i love tobacco

  • @lowfuellevel tobacco is one of the greatest plants ever, so is marijauna and if you dont like it stfu no one wants to hear you

  • Joli =), mais n'oublions pas Bob Marley, la gloire de cette musique lui revient en grande partie.

    One Love

  • Excellent, not bad quality of a recording. Joe, suits the lyrics of this fabulous song. May he influence forever. Glad that I lived as a teenager as the Clash formed. RIP Joe

  • WOW if more people could just live in peace this world would not be so screwed up.

  • I wish Cash could have lived to record "Long Shadow," and that Strummer could have lived to hear it!
