  • Lime is the best wood I've found so far

  • what kind of wood is the best for woodcarving?

  • This is a nice demo, with great video angles.

  • @iwaxmodels247 Thanks, it helps that I have my friend video taping over my shoulder :-)

  • Fine work! The soft wood doesnt need too rough tools. If you want to know how to carve a whole rc yacht from tree trunk by chiseling, check out from my page the video of me making one.

  • @KJP71 Thanks - I'll check it out

  • No you don't, but I find basswood the easiest to carve for this project. I've used mahogany, walnut and butternut in the past. Thanks - Joe

  • do i have to use basswood for this?? or can i just use ,, anything else?? :P

  • Thanks for the comment, but I don't make those.

  • can you show us howto make a chillum??

  • You should get a knife with a hard carbon steel so you don't have to sharpen while you're carving.

  • MisterSplinters...CONGRATS!!!!

Looking forward to our next project together.

    Best Wishes

  • @yuyupb Sure - what topics would you like me to cover next time?I already plan on making a short video on sharpening a whittlers knife

  • @MisterSplinters Anything really!!! You do a good job at teaching I never tried woodcarving and just randomly came across this video and ever since, I have been carving non stop haha. It would be nice if you could do a video on how to sharpen you blade because I just cant seem to get it right im using a shapining stone. IDK good job you really inspired me and a few friends to try something new thanks.
